The style of wrestlers clothing is always determined by the characters they play, with the presentation helping to put over their personalities for the fans. For some it is all about looking like rock stars, for others it is trying to appear eerie, but certain wrestlers simply want to look like stars.

One way of accomplishing that goal is by heading to the ring wearing suits, as looking well-dressed gives off a certain presentation. It instantly puts an idea into the minds of the fans, and certain talents have worn so many that they have become synonymous with them.

10 MJF

MJF Posing In Crowd

MJF's entire schtick is that he is better than everybody else, which is something he pushes throughout all of his promos. To back that up and get as much heat as possible, MJF has always presented himself in a manner that matches his character, which is where his designed suits have come into play.

The AEW star rocks the Burberry scarf every week, and he then mixes that in with a fantastic range of suits that help to immediately make people understand his character from the moment he heads out of the curtain, which is crucial for any wrestler.

9 The Miz

The Miz Suited IC

When MJF started thriving in AEW, The Miz is someone that he was compared to, and the suit-wearing aspect of both men was a big reason for that. The Miz may not have always dressed in that manner, but as he has matured, so has the style that he has chosen to wear with his clothing.

Miz likes to call himself the A-Lister, and because of that he needs to dress a certain way to back up those claims, and wearing the finest suits possible is one way of achieving that. He likes to push the idea that he's a big name outside of wrestling as well, so the suits all fit the character.

8 Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho In A Suit

Much like MJF used to get compared to The Miz, the A-Lister was initially likened to Chris Jericho when he first started wearing suits. That's because Jericho did such a good job of getting that version of himself over with the WWE Universe, even though he did it specifically to get heat.

Jericho always changes his character, and that's something he did when he put on the suit and began to talk incredibly slowly, and with much longer words. This was all intentional, and it helped create arguably the greatest version of him, which fans have never forgotten.

7 Ric Flair

Ric Flair promo

Long before any of those wrestlers were popping up in suits, Ric Flair made that a key part of his character throughout the prime of his career. The Nature Boy's entire gimmick was about being flash, always having the best possible clothes, cars, and watches, which helped to develop his character.

On the way to the ring, he would wear huge robes, yet in his promo and interview segments, Flair would always dress to impress with the most expensive suits possible, which is something he became well-known for.

6 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins Ripped Suit

Normally when wrestlers turn up wearing suits, their styles are very similar with blacks, greys, and blues being used. However, that is where Seth Rollins has changed things up and proven suits can be used to highlight an eccentric character as well, as he wears the wildest outfits possible to push the gimmick he has.

Every week Rollins wears something different, and the over-the-top nature of them is something that has got them over. But, it isn't the only time he has rocked a suit, as he would wear them during his stint in The Authority as well, only that time it would be all black.

5 Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio's character was all about money, and the fact he had more of it than anybody else. For that gimmick to work he needed to present himself in that manner, which is exactly what he did. Del Rio would turn up to the ring in a fancy car every week, he had his own personal ring announcer, and he always looked the part as well.

The suits that Del Rio would put on were all part of his gimmick, and they helped to make fans understand exactly who he was before Del Rio did anything, which is why they worked perfectly.

4 Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville hasn't always been a massively featured part of WWE's women's division, but her time as an authority figure saw all of that change. She made sure that suits became a big part of her character, wearing different ones on a weekly basis to push her power onto everyone else.

It was a subtle character change, but one that really did add to the character she was playing at that time, which would boss everyone around and showcase real confidence with whatever she said and did.

3 Triple H

Triple H Reign Of Terror

Triple H might have had plenty of runs where he'd be out wearing denim or leather, but fans typically recall him as a suit-wearing wrestler due to how many years he's done that. His spell in Evolution is a great example of that, as this was a time when he would ensure he looked the part alongside the faction.

This continued as he created The Authority, and has been the way Triple H has been presented over the years since he began taking on behind-the-scenes responsibilities. It's a look that has always worked out well for him

2 Ted DiBiase

The Million Dollar Man is another character that often wore suits, and a big reason for that was the character that he decided to potray, which was all about much money he had. Ted DiBiase's gimmick naturally leant itself to wearing a suit, and he always made sure it was themed to his character.

It worked out well for him because this is a look that proved to be iconic for him, with fans always remembering the black and gold suits that he would bust out for his non-wrestling appearances.

1 Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes Raw Promo

One of the big changes that Cody Rhodes made when he left WWE was the manner in which he presented himself. Gone was the Stardust clothing, instead being replaced by the flashiest suits which helped to make him appear like a huge star, especially on the independent scene where nobody else was doing that.

Rhodes continued that into AEW, and then again with his WWE return as he wants to have a certain aesthetic when he appears. It's something that has worked well for him because fans all find the American Nightmare to be a top name in the business now.
