Whilst fans are waiting for the next WWE 2K release or the highly anticipated AEW: Fight Forever, gamers can get their pro wrestling fix in the form of a new battle royale from developers Iron Galaxy with Rumbleverse. Filled with over the top slams and throws, Rumbleverse leans into the wackier side of pro wrestling to bring its 40-player chaos to life.

What is Rumbleverse?

Rumbleverse is the next project from Chicago-based developer Iron Galaxy, a studio best known for their work in porting games across consoles for bigger publishers. The concept is fairly simple, taking the battle royale formula made popular by games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, and situating it in a professional wrestling world.

Either playing solo or in pairs, 40 players drop across the map, a metropolis called Grapital City. As the map shrinks, players duke it out to be the last one standing, using all manner of strikes, grabs, slams, throws and weapons to eliminate opponents. Akin to something like cult favorite WWE All-Stars, Rumbleverse turns the dial up on the over-the-top action, with players able to bounce their suplexes off of cars, chokeslam someone off of a house and land elbow drops off from the top of a skyscraper.

Where Can People Play Rumbleverse?

Rumbleverse

Rumbleverse is available on both PC through the Epic Games Store, and available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The game also features cross-play functionality, populating games from players across systems and allowing friends on different platforms to partner up for tag team success.

Rumbleverse goes live today at 9am CST, and in copying the model of other successful battle royale games, Rumbleverse is also entirely free-to-play.
