The son of a son of a plumber, Dustin Runnels has been a professional wrestler since 1988. His most prominent runs were with WCW, WWF/WWE and now AEW alongside his half-brother Cody Rhodes. While he's gone by many names and gimmicks, his most well known by far is that of Goldust.

'The Bizarre One' debuted with then WWF in 1995. An androgynous character in a full body suit, gold makeup and blonde wig, he was weird and off putting, particularly for fans of that era. He has feuded with the likes of the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and the Ultimate Warrior.

Goldust became a fan favorite during his various WWE runs over the years, in no small part due to his antics and comedic chops.

10 Goldust's Tourettes

For a time, the WWE played an angle where Goldust had Tourettes, giving him a speech impediment and having him say borderline offensive things on the mic. The angle itself was borderline offensive as it's a fine line between comedy and making fun of a real disorder.

Goldust walked the line well, keeping the bit on the correct side of that line as much as possible. It did lead to some funny moments backstage and in the ring, though the bit didn't last long which was probably for the best.

9 Goldust "Saves" Ahmed Johnson

Goldust's ambiguous sexuality provided a range of comedic moments throughout his WWE runs. One of the oddest was him repeatedly giving Ahmed Johnson CPR. The first time it happened was when Johnson was injured during a match with the late, great Owen Hart.

When Ahmed woke up, he went on a rampage around the backstage area, hunting down Goldust. That rage may have been legit. If you can say one thing about Goldust, he brings out extreme emotions in people.

8 Sable 2.0

There was a time that Sable was the top female performer in the WWF. She wasn't the best wrestler ever but that really wasn't what Vince was looking for from most female talent in those days. One day, Goldust dressed in full drag as a parody of Sable and made his way down to the ring for a match with Luna Vachon. Not surprisingly since she was a hell of a wrestler, Luna kicked Goldust's butt and stripped him down to his underwear. It was a funny moment and another example of Runnels leaning into the character.

7 Goldust, Crocodile Hunter

The WWE era of the NWO was nowhere near as impactful as the WCW era, but it did provide some interesting moments. In one segment, Goldust dressed like Steve Irwin, aka the Crocodile Hunter, and busted into the NWO's dressing room. He made a series of thematic jokes at their expense, particularly Big Show and X-Pac.

It's important to note that the parody of Irwin was not derogatory but the bit was hilarious. The backstage antics of Goldust were both inventive and creative.

6 Goldust and Booker T

Goldust and Booker T

If you'll excuse the pun, virtually any segment involving Goldust and Booker T proved to be pure gold.

The two ring veterans made a talented tag team but they both had the chops in the mic to make any bit work. More importantly, they were willing to do what they needed to do to land a joke. Not limited to one joke or moment, their team up was one long, fantastic stretch of matches and backstage segments. It was one of the best partnerships in WWE history.

5 A Bad Influence On Cody

Cody Rhodes left the WWE because he wasn't getting the shots he deserved and has obviously done extremely well for himself since leaving. But while he was in the WWE, he had the opportunity to work with his brother in the ring, holding the Tag Team Championships with him.

He also got weird with a character called Stardust. The partnership between Stardust and Goldust was a strange one, possibly as strange as the WWE has gotten. Even Goldust found Stardust to be a bit on the odd side.

4 The Formation Of The Golden Truth

The Golden Truth

Much like his time with Booker T, the tag team of R-Truth and Goldust provided endless comedic gold. A lot of comedy came from Goldust trying to convince R-Truth to join the team. R-Truth kept saying no but Goldust was persistent, hiding in bathroom stalls and pretending to be Jimi Hendrix out front of the Experience Music Project in Seattle.

Eventually, R-Truth relented and The Golden Truth was formed. The two wrestlers had instant chemistry and provided fans with some epic moments, as well as one of the greatest t-shirt designs of all time.

3 The End Of The Golden Truth

The end of The Golden Truth came as cartoonishly as it began. A surprise heel turn from Goldust initiated their separation, which isn't a new move in the WWE. What was different was what came next.

The two wrestlers started cutting insane promos on each other as well as ridiculous segment videos. It had potential to be an over-the-top feud between two wrestlers who find the humor in the business. Unfortunately, WWE eased off the feud before it got weird enough and didn't give it the screen time it deserved.

2 Mocking Summer Rae

When Fandango wrestled Cody Rhodes on a 2014 episode of Raw, he brought Summer Rae to the ring with him. Cody, the other hand, brought Goldust.

During the match, Goldust made his way over to Summer and started acting like her, essentially mimicking everything she did. Summer screamed at Goldust, asking is he was mocking her. Naturally, he yelled back, "Yes I am!" and continued dancing.

It was a funny moment that distracted Fandango, allowing Cody to hit the Disaster Kick and win the match.

1 Trading Places With William Regal

William Regal is one of the longest tenured wrestlers with the WWE, both in the ring and behind the scenes. One of his most memorable matches was a Trading Places match with Goldust. Essentially, each superstar wrestled in their opponents' gear, which Regal was less than enthusiastic about. At first.

Regal slowly started getting into the swing of things and emulated Goldust's in ring mannerisms. Goldust also got into Regal's style by pulling out a set of brass knuckles and punching his opponent in the face.
