Over the course of it's coveted and prominent existence, professional wrestling has always had it's fair share of interesting dealings and stories. Some stories are so ridiculous that you may think it has no chance of being real. These stories include Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon having a homosexual partnership, Bret Hart and Sunny being an item, and Vince McMahon sending Kevin Nash and Scott Hall to destroy WCW. However, some of wrestling's wacky stories have been confirmed to be true by many wrestlers. Stories such as Sid Viscous and Arn Anderson having a fight with scissors, Jerry Lawler's crown being defecated in, and The Ultimate Warrior sniffing food rather than eating it to maintain his diet.

However, not all stories in wrestling have been uncovered as true or false. Many stories have hardcore fans questioning whether a wrestler has really committed the sometimes heinous, silly, or crazy act. This list is here to provide insight as to whether or not you should believe some of these rumours. At the end of the day, hopefully this article will clear up some of wrestling's most insane, nonsensical, and absurd stories.

Here are 10 insane WWE rumours and whether or not you should believe them.

20 10. Creative Had Plans for Neville to be Mighty Mouse

via worcestermag.com
via worcestermag.com

Prior to joining the main roster, Neville accomplished everything possible in NXT. Neville at the time had the longest reign as an NXT Champion which included some incredible matches against Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze, and Sami Zayn. Before he became NXT Champion he was a two-time Tag Team Champion. So everyone was ready for him to be called up to the main roster. When talks began of his debut, a rumour circulated that he would be made into the fictional super hero Mighty Mouse. Many fans went into an uproar as there was nothing wrong with the character Neville had in NXT. Luckily for Neville this did not happen and Neville remained his same character from NXT except with a cape and minus his first name of Adrian.

19 10. Why You Should Believe it

WWE has a history of doing silly and ridiculous gimmicks. Vince has a history of at times irrational thinking. It is believed that Vince is not a fan of the the NXT product so he may have some grudge against anyone who comes out of NXT. Any other identification of proof may be that some of the changes Neville went through once he had finally arrived on the main roster. Neville was one of many wrestlers that had there name changed. This list includes the removing of Langston from Big E's name, removing Antonio from Cesaro's name, and removing Alexander from Rusev's name. The other change was giving him a cape which he never had down in NXT. Because of these facts, I believe the Mighty Mouse gimmick for Neville was discussed. Thankfully, it never came true and Neville attempts to just be himself on the main roster

18 9. JBL Takes Hazing to a Whole New Level

via cagesideseats.com
via cagesideseats.com

The "Wrestling God" John Bradshaw Layfield has been a member of the WWE roster since 1995. Excluding a period from 2009 to 2012, he has been one of WWE's longest tenured Superstars. The former WWE Champion was considered a locker room leader and at times a bully. Even he considers himself a bully. His acts bullying include picking on Joey Styles until he was punched back, ruining the face of the Blue Meanie, and absolutely bludgeoning the Public Enemy on an episode of Heat. However, one of the scarier and strange rumours are that JBL use to get in the shower with wrestlers and wash them up. Yes...you read that correctly. It is believed JBL would do this to test the toughness of his fellow wrestlers.

17 9. Why You Should Believe it

via wwe.com

Yes I truly believe JBL is sick enough to something strange like this. Because of his past incidents JBL is a very likely candidate to do something like this. He's the biggest bully in the history of professional wrestling. From the aforementioned bullying of Joey Styles and public destruction of both the Blue Meanie and Public Enemy, it is shocking that JBL has never received any backlash or punishment for his incidents. More acts of JBL's supposed hazing includes groping Edge, carrying around a naked Billy Silverman, bullying The Miz, and making comments about the dead family member of Palmer Cannon. Edge has also said that JBL soaped him in the shower. I don't think Edge would have any reason to lie so this extreme form of hazing may also be true.

16 8. Two Ultimate Warriors

via wwe.com
via wwe.com

The Ultimate Warrior although being a polarizing figure in the world of wrestling, was an absolutely dreadful wrestler and an even worse backstage personality. The former Jim Hellwig began working for the WWE in the year 1987 as a face-painted hero. Warrior was an absolute monster destroying all of his competition. He would win the Intercontinental Championship in record time at SummerSlam 1998 versus the Honky Tonk Man. He would defeat Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI and would hold the title until the Royal Rumble where he was defeated by Sgt. Slaughter. Later in the year he would depart wanting more money for WrestleMania VII. When he would make his inevitable return, Warrior would be sporting new hair, new ring gear, and a much more defined physique, citing many to believe that this was a completely different person.

15 8. Why You Should NOT Believe it

The first one on the list that I believe isn't true is this one. Some say Warrior had died and was replaced by another muscular, blond wrestler. This "Warrior" was supposedly Kerry Von Erich. It was believed Warrior had died from liver failure caused by years of alleged steroid abuse. This rumour is quite comical and is one of the more dark, and weird ones. This is obviously untrue as the real Warrior Jim Hellwig had his name changed to Warrior. Hellwig denied the rumour on his YouTube channel various time up until his untimely death in 2014. Another reason why I believe this is a tale is because Warrior would have issues with the WWE two more times before he was gone for almost twenty years. The story of two Ultimate Warriors makes the list as a rumour you should not believe.

14 7. Vince McMahon Sent Vince Russo to Kill WCW

via youtube.com
via youtube.com

Towards the end of the 1990s where the WWE was struggling to keep pace with WCW, WWE took a new approach as to how their shows were done. More of the focus was placed on the story and less of it on the actual wrestling. The man believed to be at the forefront of this change is former video store owner Vince Russo. Russo had the booking philosophy called "crash TV." The product at the time became more edgier, but the wrestling at the time aside from the legends of the business was not the best. After Russo's time in the WWE had run it's course, Russo went to WCW. Needless to say, Russo was unable to work his "magic" with WCW. The product became the antitheses of what Russo was in the WWE leading some to ask the question, Did Vince McMahon send Vince Russo to kill WCW?

13 7. Why You Should NOT Believe It

via insidepulse.com
via insidepulse.com

Calling Vince Russo's time in WCW disappointing is an underestimate. He failed to help WCW reach the same height as WWE did during his tenure. However, McMahon sending Russo to destroy his competition is completely nonsensical. Firstly, Russo did not leave the WWE on the best terms and has still yet to return to the company. Secondly, Russo was hired by Jeff Jarrett to help write for TNA. Lastly, Russo wanted his time in WCW to work. Although he is despised by many, Russo tried his damnedest to help re-establish WCW as a formidable challenger to the WWE and Vince McMahon and you can't fault the guy for trying. After a failed WWE reunion in the year 2002, Russo would move on to TNA where he would have on and off partnerships with them.

12 6. Sean Waltman Defecating in Sable's Bag

via wrestlingnews.co
via wrestlingnews.co

At the height of her popularity, Sable became one of the WWE's most profitable wrestlers. Despite not being the best in the ring or the best on the microphone, Sable was able to attain popularity at a time only matched by Steve Austin in the year 1998. Sable would win the WWE Women's Championship on one occasion and would be on the cover of Playboy magazine in 1999. The relationship between the Sable and the WWE would worsen as well in 1999 and she would depart that same year. She would file a 110 million dollar lawsuit against the company claiming she was sexually harassed. The issue was settled for much less than what she was asking for. Sable was not liked backstage and many of the wrestlers were happy when she was gone. However there is a belief that Sean Waltman took it as far as to defecate in her bag.

11 6. Why You Should Believe it

via wwe.com
via wwe.com

Sable being unpopular should not come as a surprise to any. She was dislike by many backstage including Sunny, Jim Cornette, and almost everyone else in the company. She began actually believing herself to be a larger than life figure in the wrestling business. She left because she forgot Vince McMahon is the one responsible for making her the star that she had become. Therefore Waltman's story of defecating in her bag should come as no surprise to anybody as Waltman was known for his troublesome ways. Waltman says Sable claimed she was the reason that the company was doing so well at the time and this caused Sable to receive massive heat with all the male wrestlers. Therefore, I believe that this rumour is true and very funny.

10 5. Vince McMahon and the Incest Angle

via youtube.com
via youtube.com

Vince McMahon has in the past pitched and done many crazy and wild angles in his time. These include making Trish Stratus bark like a dog and strip naked, the Katie Vick storyline, and teaming up with his son Shane McMahon to take on the team of Shawn Michaels and "God." As ridiculous, cruel, and disgusting some of these decisions are this is by far the worse. Vince's daughter Stephanie McMahon has also had very cruel incidents on TV. Recently she verbally dressed down Roman Reigns after his return from suspension, calling him a loser. But like her father Vince, the thought of incest even being brought up takes the cake over anything they have ever thought of or have done. When Steph was pregnant with Triple H's baby, creative thought it would be a good idea to have Vince considered as a candidate for the baby's father which would insinuate incest.

9 5. Why You Should Believe it...Sadly

via sportskeeda.com
via sportskeeda.com

As sickening as it is, this idea was really brought up and even worse considered. 2006 was one of WWE's worst years recently. And I guess Vince was looking to do anything to make a bigger impact. Luckily nothing came of this. However, the thought is absolutely disgusting. Vince has not had the best track record of interacting with women on his roster. Vince has had a match with his daughter,  made out with another woman in front of his wife, and presented the aforementioned making a Trish Stratus bark like a dog. So Vince is on treatment of the women should come as no surprise to anyone even if it is his daughter. I'm sure if Vince actually went through with it he would receive a great deal of hate by many wrestling fans.

8 4. Shawn Michaels and Sunny's Affair

via photobucket.com
via photobucket.com

During the 1990s, Shawn Michaels will be the first to tell you that he was not the best person to be around. Like many of the wrestlers, Michaels would take certain substances to help with being on the road constantly. His personality was toxic, and at a certain time for Michaels would refuse to put wrestlers over. Michaels once claimed that he would never let Bret Hart beat him. Thankfully Michaels became a much better person later in his life. However, Michaels would allegedly have an affair with a certain Diva. Before Sable arrived, Sunny was one of the most popular Divas in wrestling history. However, there is a rumour that Sunny had an affair with Shawn Michaels while she was married to fellow wrestler Chris Candido.

7 4. Why You Should Believe it

via wrestlingnews.co
via wrestlingnews.co

Shawn Michaels has never outright said that he and Sunny had an affair. However, Sunny has said it. She has said it in multiple shoot interview. One of Michaels' best friends Sean Waltman has said that they were watching the door while he was in the room with Sunny. It is also believed but never confirmed that Sunny has had an affair with many other wrestlers. At the height of Michaels being a "jerk," he once insinuated that Bret Hart was also having an affair with Sunny. This led to a backstage brawl between the two leading to Michaels having a piece of his hair pulled out and him threatening to quit the company. Luckily for Shawn, Candido was unaware even up to his untimely death in 2005. Sunny is also changing her life for the better as she recently has fully completed rehab.

6 3. Pat Patterson's Darkest Secrets

via ecwfrenchtribute.free.fr
via ecwfrenchtribute.free.fr

Pat Patterson is viewed as one of WWE's most respected wrestlers ever. Before becoming one of Vince's top guys backstage, Pat Patterson was WWE's first Intercontinental Champion. According to many wrestlers, Pat Patterson was one of few people that Vince would actually listen to and take ideas from. This led to him being an incredibly well-respected figure among many wrestlers and fans alike. Pat Patterson is also one of few wrestlers to come out openly about their sexuality as he is gay. Sadly, a rumour began dating back to the 1980s that Patterson would use his sexuality in order for guys to get jobs with the WWE. The list of wrestlers that are supposedly on this list include Roddy Piper, Virgil, and Terry Garvin.

5 3. Why You Should NOT Believe it

via thesuburban.com
via thesuburban.com

This scandal is not talked about much in the wrestling world. Patterson was able to keep a job with the WWE for many, many years after the alleged scandal. Besides Roddy Piper, no one on the else on the list amounted to very much in the WWE. Another piece of this rumor is that Virgil allegedly had to show Patterson his penis in order to get a job with the WWE. Although I'm sure the WWE has some power in keeping this not talked about, I'm also sure they would not have been able to keep this under the wraps for this long. Patterson received no punishment whatsoever for this alleged incident and for that reason alone, there is no reason to believe it. Despite almost everyone knowing, Patterson came out officially on an episode of Legends House recorded in 2012 and aired in 2014.

4 2. Jimmy Snuka and Nancy Argentino

via sportingnews.com
via sportingnews.com

Jimmy Snuka has arguably one of the most iconic wrestling moments where gave Don Muraco the Superfly Splash of top of the cage. He is also responsible for being The Undertaker's first WrestleMania opponent at WrestleMania VII. He is also the father of current WWE Superstar Tamina. Snuka is also accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend. Nancy Argentino was Snuka's girlfriend at the time in 1983. When she was murdered, Snuka was the only suspect. There was court case in 1985 where Snuka was supposed to pay 500,000 dollars but did not because he was financially incapable of doing so. The case was brought back up in 2015 and with Snuka once again getting off free because he was declared not mentally competent to stand on trial, yet he is suing the WWE right now along with many other wrestlers for long time neurological issues.

3 2. Why You Should Believe it

via m.goliath.com
via m.goliath.com

There are no other suspects in the case. Snuka was able to escape both times free when he is the only suspect. Snuka like many other wrestlers was on substances that cause them to possibly not be aware of what they were doing. Even the accusation of Snuka doing this ruins his professional wrestling legacy. A year after the murder, Snuka would check himself in to a rehabilitation center. He would leave the following the year before and return on several occasions. Personally, I believe Snuka was never the same wrestler. He would move on to the early days of ECW in 1992 becoming their first World Champion. Snuka would semi-retire in 1996 making short appearances with the WWE and other independent promotions. And as previously mentioned, he is suing the WWE for damages done to the brain.

2 1. Macho Man and an Under-Aged Stephanie McMahon

via grantland.com
via grantland.com

"Macho Man" Randy Savage is one of my favourite wrestlers of all time. He is truly one of the best talkers in the history of wrestling. Savage, at a time when mostly bland wrestling was available managed to wrestle masterpieces during the 1980s and early 1990s. Savage would sadly be unable to make amends with the WWE before his death in 2011. Savage and the WWE are believed to have had a bad breakup for many reasons. One being Savage leaving for the rival promotion. Another one is Savage keeping his Slim Jim sponsorship while with WCW. Lastly, the most interesting and wild of the bunch, Savage having relations with Stephanie McMahon at the time while she was underage. Many have heard the rumour and many are unsure of the rumour. There are arguments to be made for both sides of it and here are the presentation for both.

1 1. Undecided

via cadesideseats.com
via cadesideseats.com

Yep, the lastly can really go either way. On one hand Stephanie refuses to comment about this story. Leading us to think maybe something did happen. But on the other hand, Savage is believed to be awkward around women according to Scott Hall. Not even Randy's brother and eccentric personality Lanny Poffo knows whether or not Randy Savage and Stephanie McMahon had a relationship. Either way I think it is easily believable for someone that Vince loved as much as the Macho Man to have a relationship with his daughter. Sadly I doubt one will ever know for sure whether or not these two had a relationship. The disagreement between the two parties ended in 2015 when Randy Savage was inducted in the Hall of Fame, an induction that was long overdue.
