15 Pairs Of Wrestlers Who Hooked Up With The Same Woman

Professional wrestling is a business where those within it have to spend a large majority of their lives together. People who are travelling around the world together for sometimes as many as 300 days a years are probably going to share a lot of things, and sometimes those things are actually people themselves. Okay that may be a little bit of a stretch, although as you'll see from some of the upcoming entries not too much of one, but there are a large number of occurrences where Superstars have at some point slept with a woman who a fellow wrestler, that they may or may not even know, has also slept with at some point in the past.

It's not as straight forward as I may have made it sound above either. As you'll soon see from this list there are any number of ways that wrestlers have wound up in this predicament. From love triangles becoming on screen story lines, to Superstars sleeping with women who their idols may have had relationships with, all the way up to affairs that have literally torn apart relationships apart and caused insane amounts of back stage tension. Tragically all of this is common place in wrestling. Wrestlers spend a lot of time with the same people and unfortunately it's inevitable. Here are fifteen times it has taken place, and keep an eye out because a few people will be appearing more than just once.

16 CM Punk and Mike Bennett

via greekamericangirl.com

Mike Bennett has recently joined the ranks at SmackDown Live, and his wife Maria Kannellis has rejoined WWE after a seven year absence. Mike and Maria are husband and wife both on screen and off screen, but during Kanellis's first stint with the company she was not married to Mike, in fact the two weren't together at all. Long before Maria met Mike she actually dated CM Punk, a man who will be appearing on this list a lot more often than you might expect. Punk and Kannellis met while the two of them were in OVW together in 2005 and actually dated for two years. I don't know about you, but I feel like the partners they're now both married to are much more suited to them.

15 Steve Austin and Chris Adams

via youtube.com

This entry is a pretty unique one and one that you may not know about. Stone Cold Steve Austin has had a few wives throughout his life. His second wife was named Jeanie Clarke, a woman he met through the wrestling business, and is the mother of Steve's only two children. The strange thing about this one is that Clarke was actually the former partner of the man who trained Stone Cold, Chris Adams. Clarke and Adams were together, but not married, in the early '80s and actually had a daughter together themselves, a girl Austin would adopt when he married Jeanie years later. An odd one and one that must have been pretty awkward for all parties involved considering the timing and the circumstances.

14 John Morrison and Batista

via pinterest.com

This one is the first of the more controversial entries that will feature on this list. Former WWE Diva Melina was dating fellow Superstar John Morrison on and off while the two of them were at the company. While their relationship was going on Melina also got extremely close with another co-worker, Batista. Melina has since categorically stated that nothing of that nature went on between herself and Batista, but that hasn't stopped the rumors that were swirling at the time from existing. Despite Melina claiming the two of them were just good friends, the rumors about her and Batista led to her and Morisson breaking up as well as causing trouble for Batista's marriage.

13 David Flair and Test

via gazettereview.com

One of the most popular WWE Divas of the early '00s was Stacy Keibler. What you may not know is that Keibler actually started her wrestling career in WCW, and won her place in the company via a competition to become a Nitro Girl. One of her first assignments with WCW was to be the manager to Ric Flair's son, David. The pairing actually wound up blossoming into a real life relationship. When Stacy made the move to WWE she would manage the late Test, and that on screen relationship would manifest into something more behind the scenes also. A clear pattern forming, but with two extremely different wrestlers. Stacy has of course since dated Hollywood star George Clooney, so a claim to fame for David Flair outside of his lackluster in ring career.

12 Chris Benoit and Kevin Sullivan

via aminoapps.com

Chris Benoit's wife Nancy of course died under terrible circumstances when her and her son were killed by Chris back in 2007. This entry will not focus on the end of their relationship however, but the beginning. Chris probably wouldn't cite anything much of note coming out of his WCW career as he and so many others were held down despite their talent, but it is where he met the woman that would become his wife. Trouble is Nancy was actually with Chris's WCW co worker at the time, Kevin Sullivan. Nancy would eventually choose Chris of course, and one of the rumors surrounding Benoit's departure from WCW was that he left because Sullivan was using back stage politics to further keep him from progressing up the card.

11 Shawn Michaels and Chris Candido

via sportzwiki.com

This one is extremely awkward, although you wouldn't think so if you asked the woman at the center of it all, Sunny. Considering the things you here about the former WWE Diva, you might find it hard to believe that she was in a long term relationship with the same man for the majority of her pro wrestling career. Her and fellow wrestler Chis Candido met in high school and it was Chris who actually introduced Sunny to the wrestling business, something he probably regretted somewhat down the line. I say that because Sunny infamously had a nine month long affair with Shawn Michaels during the Attitude Era. Luckily for Chris his and Sunny's relationship managed to survive the turmoil of her affair and they remained together until he passed away in 2005.

9 CM Punk and Edge

via todaysknockout.com

Many of you will probably have seen the photo of Lita and expected a different pair of former WWE Superstars in this entry. Never fear, it won't be the last time Lita features on this list. Her first appearance on here though is for her well known relationship, both on and off screen, with Edge and one lesser known one, her time with CM Punk. I did also warn you that the Second City Saint would be appearing again before this list was out, and here he is. He may be happily married with AJ Lee now but before he met the former Divas' Champion he actually tried his luck with a few other co workers, clearly. While Punk and Maria Kanellis wasn't a couple I would have out together in my head, him and Lita is definitely one that makes sense.

8 Lex Luger and Randy Savage

via thecoli.com

When wrestling fans hear the name Miss Elizabeth, they instantly think of Randy Savage. Elizabeth truly was the first lady of wrestling, and during the Macho Man's heyday she was always there by the WWE Hall of Famer's side. Savage was extremely protective of Elizabeth, even falling out with Hulk Hogan after he believed something was going on between the two. With that in mind, I can't imagine Randy would have been too pleased about the fact that his former sweetheart spent the last few years of her life with Lex Luger. Like so many other's on this list they met as a result of being paired together on television. The two were let go from WCW in 2000 but remained together until Elizabeth's untimely death three years later.

7 Shawn Michaels and Dolph Ziggler

via breakingwrestlingnews.com

Dolph Ziggler's in ring work and wrestling persona is very much like that of one of his idol's Shawn Michaels. So much so in fact that he often gets criticized for the similarities. Well it turns out that Ziggler had emulated the Heart Break Kid in more than just wrestling style. As mentioned already in this article Shawn once had an affair with Sunny while she was with Chris Candido. Well long after that, and five years after Chris had passed away, Dolph Ziggler spent one magical night with the former WWE Diva. Sunny discussed the night she spent with the Show Off in an interview which she used to confirm and dispel rumors of who exactly she had slept with. Turns out the rumors about her, British Bulldog, and of course Dolph were true, but the one about her and Seth Rollins was completely fabricated.

6 John Cena and Kenny Dykstra

via wwe.com

Another entry along similar lines to the Batista/Melina/John Morrison one in terms of collateral damage. Both WWE and John Cena like you to think that the sixteen time World Champion is squeaky clean, but there's a reason Big Match John was so reluctant to propose to Nikki Bella for so long. Cena has actually been married before, and it didn't end well. While married John got involved with fellow WWE Superstar Mickie James, and that's not all. At the time Mickie was engaged to another WWE employee, Kenny from the Spirit Squad. Needless to say when the truth of it all emerged, it caused a pretty big mess. You can also include TNA's Magnus in this entry too as a matter of fact as that's who Mickie is currently in a relationship with.

5 Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett

via youtube.com

It's sad but as you can see, affairs and infidelity really are common place in the world of professional wrestling. Sometimes wrestling companies will even take advantage of their employees' real life heart break, and this entry is a prime example of that. Our Olympic Hero and current Raw General Manager was once happily married to his wife, Karen. Well while at TNA it's well documented that Kurt had some issues with substance abuse, drinking alcohol and taking incredible amounts of pain killers. It would be a problem that would test even the strongest of relationships, and sadly it was a test that Karen and Kurt's marriage failed. Karen would confide and eventually become extremely close to fellow TNA star Jeff Jarrett, and that's who she remains married to until this day.

4 Triple H and X-Pac

via wwe.com

Triple H and Sean Waltman have been close friends for over twenty years. They remain great friends to this day, which is surprising when you consider that they've both had turbulent relationships with the late, great Chyna in that time period. The Game was in a relationship with the Ninth Wonder of the World before he married Stephanie McMahon, of course, and once they split Chyna claimed that Triple H had been abusive to her. Years later when Waltman would begin dating Chyna, Triple H warned his good friend of what he was letting himself in for. Sean ignored him and went ahead with the relationship anyway. It involved a lot of drug use and even the release of a couple of sex tapes starring the two of them.

3 Marc Mero and Brock Lesnar

via sportsstardom.com

One of the strangest pairings on this list may very well be this one, Brock Lesnar and Marc Mero. Apart from the fact that they're both pro wrestlers, can you think of anything else the two of them have in common? Well there is one other thing, they both had long term relationships with Sable. The former Women's Champion is currently still married to Brock and the pair of them have two children together as well as twins from Brock's previous relationship. Much like Sunny, it was Sable's partner at the time, Mero, that got her into the business of pro wrestling. The two would go their separate ways in 2004 and before the year was out Sable was with her current husband, The Beast Incarnate.

2 Dolph Ziggler and John Cena

via forum.bodybuilding.com

Both Dolph Ziggler and John Cena have appeared on this list once each already, but it's this woman the two have been intimate with that the pair are most famous for. As already mentioned in this article Cena is currently engaged to Nikki Bella. Well while John has history with fellow WWE Superstars, so does his fiance. Bella was once romantically involved with The Show Off Dolph Ziggler, and it was a former relationship that reality show Total Divas decided to play up to. Ziggler would flirt with Nikki and attempt to kiss her during an episode of the show, something he'd deservedly receive a slap for from Nikki. Whether it was a staged story line rooted in truth is unknown, but knowing Ziggler's reputation it really wouldn't surprise me.

1 Edge and Matt Hardy

via mindofcarnage.com

This one takes turning reality into a wrestling story line to another level. Edge and Matt Hardy may have moved on now and both be happily married to different women, but there was a time when the two were involved in a love triangle with four time women's champion, Lita. Matt and Lita had become close after she was made a member of Team Extreme, but after they were together for a while Lita wound up taking a liking to their co worker, Edge. Matt would actually end up leaving the company soon after the relationship between Edge and Lita came to light, only for typical WWE to see a money making prospect. The company brought Matt back into the foldĀ so that the whole painful situation could play out on screen as the real life love triangle became a televised WWE angle.
