The Raw Women's Division received quite the shock recently when Paige made her much-awaited return to the company, and she brought some friends along with her to wreak havoc on the ladies. She actually came out with this news before signing with the WWE, so the company knew about that aspect of herself before signing her. That was actually quite the courageous move from Deville's part as well because of how homosexual people are still seen in places like Sports Entertainment, as she proved just how mentally tough she was with that move. WWE also seem to be pleased with that, as they'll continue pushing her as their first openly lesbian competitor because of how that can help improve their own reputation in the mainstream media.

While she may have been a limited performer in NXT, she kept on wrestling in house shows and apparently wrestled over 150 matches on NXT! Paige has wrestling in her blood because of how she comes from a well-known wrestling family, with both her mother and father being professional wrestlers before her. Sonya was still trying to make a name for herself in the MMA field, and while training herself to become well prepared for more matches, she also did some work hosting an MMA show. That show was a Youtube show called UFC Afterbuzz, which Sonya would co-present with another host. It was basically a show which would review and discuss events of the fights from UFC events, with Sonya's vast knowledge of UFC and ability to present well making her a decent co-host for the show. Paige spoke about how she was ashamed of her parents' being wrestlers once because she was bullied in school due to wrestling "not being a cool thing to do" back then. via twitter.com

Deville was aiming for a career as a mixed-martial arts fighter, and she also was involved in a few fights before she decided on signing with the WWE. Deville has a decent MMA record, having won 2 out of the 3 matches she had fought a few years ago. She got a win by knockout and the other by submission, but after suffering a narrow loss in her 3rd match, she decided upon a change in career. While Sonya may not be as celebrated as someone like Shayna Baszler, but she's doing a great job in portraying this dangerous character because of her past MMA experience.
