Intercourse can be a fun, intimate time between two people in love - or two drunk strangers - when kept in check. But when you find yourself waking up naked all too frequently in strange places, then it might be an issue. The WWE is a high-testosterone (and estrogen) traveling workplace where athletes spend countless hours with each other on the road. While we can't discount that many current and former WWE wrestlers have had experiences like the one above, there's certain to be plenty of sexual tension.
Despite the WWE turning the idea of sex addiction into a running joke with Mark Henry's Sexual Chocolate persona in the Attitude Era, the disease has affected numerous WWE Superstars - at least that we know of. No, we can't confirm that any of the wrestlers on this list slept with Mae Young, but for some sex addiction cost them their careers (or created one if you're current-day gigolo Buff Bagwell).
The list below examines 15 current and former wrestlers, Divas, and on-screen executives who have either admitted to struggling with sex addiction or have been the subject of numerous sex scandals and rumors.
15 15. Batista
Arguably the most known case of sex addiction in the WWE, Batista went into details on his tough upbringing and his battle with sex addiction during a 2008 interview with Australia's The Herald and Weekly Times. After divorcing his wife with whom he had two daughters, Batista said he took advantage of the numerous women throwing themselves at him.
The six-time World Champion and box office star said he used women as a means of staying clear of drugs and alcohol. However, his behavior ultimately hurt the ones he loved and he has since banished the lifestyle to spend more time with his children. The tragic irony in the whole situation is that Batista noted he didn't view his sexual habits as a problem until Chris Benoit showed him the evil of his ways.
14 14. Pat Patterson & Terry Garvin
In the early 90s, a scandal of new sorts rocked the WWE. The company had become familiar with sex-based rumors and hearsay, but the allegations against Hall of Famer Pat Patterson and former executive Terry Garvin weren't the ones Vince McMahon was used to dealing with.
Former wrestler Barry Orton used to claim that Garvin would harass him on road trips, constantly asking for oral sex. While employed in the WWE, Garvin was known for using his influence to sleep with younger ring attendants. The allegations came to light when Tom Cole, a former ring announcer, lost his job after refusing Garvin's advances. Vince was forced to defend the company in the national media, even appearing on CNN's Larry King Live. Both Garvin and Patterson were openly gay wrestlers. Garvin was eventually let go by the company, but Patterson was hired back after Orton confessed he never saw him do anything malicious.
13 13. Sunny
Sunny, real name Tammy Lynn Sytch, was one of the few on-screen women employed by the WWE in the mid-90s. Because of that, she was the belle of the ball, hooking up with numerous Superstars backstage, despite being linked to Chris Candido (the Skip to her Sunny). She was rumored to have hooked up with Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Sabu, and several others. Kevin Nash said it best: I don’t remember being hard on [Candido]... probably because his girlfriend was sleeping with everyone in the territory and he was acting like he didn’t know what was going on... walking around like a dumb stooge.
Her intercourse drive hasn't died down - or at least her desire to get paid. The 44-year-old worked private Skype shows which apparently weren't well received by customers. Though it didn't stop her from recently starring in the adult industry, Sunny Side Up: In Through the Backdoor.
12 12. Shawn Michaels
On screen, Shawn Michaels played The Heartbreak Kid. The long-haired, I'm just a sexy boy, I'm not your boy toy Superstar was perfect for the gimmick, so much so that he essentially lived it. Considered an egomaniac by many of the wrestlers he worked with during the 90s, Michaels mix of drugs and women made him a controversial figure in the WWE locker room.
We know his sexual relationship with the aforementioned Sunny caused issues backstage, particularly with her boyfriend Chris Candido, who, according to Bam Bam Bigelow, was suicidal at the time. Michaels has been linked to other women in the company and outside of it, causing a divorce from his then-wife Theresa Lynn Wood. He was also accused by Bret Hart of having a relationship with Vince McMahon, but Hart had a strong motive for spreading such rumors. Today, Michaels is a Born Again Christian and has turned the page from that dark chapter in his life.
11 11. Kurt Angle
Kurt Angle didn't play along during a fun interview with BBC Newsbeat in 2015. Asked whether he preferred sex or chocolate, the Olympic gold medalist answered without hesitation: Sex. You should see my wife. He married Giovanna Yannotti in 2012 and we think she's more than worthy of being faithful to, but that apparently wasn't the case with Angle's first wife.
Angle was married to his ex-wife Karen from 1998-2008, but a reported backstage affair with Dawn Marie caused a rift in their relationship that couldn't be fixed (Karen later married Jeff Jarrett). The former ECW and WWE valet admitted to the affair, which lasted at least a year according to a 2008 interview. What doesn't help Angle's case is the sex stalker gimmick he portrayed following WrestleMania 21, where he desired perverted intercourse with gutter sl***, namely Booker T's wife Sharmell. The gimmick kind of stuck. Angle played a sex-crazed serial killer in the awful film End Game.
10 10. Dawn Marie
While the case can be made that former valet and Diva Dawn Marie was a homewrecker due to her affair with Kurt Angle, you can almost say the same thing about the Olympic champion. Dawn Marie was involved in a lengthy relationship with TNA wrestler Simon Diamond, which ended as a result of the affair. It isn't hard to imagine her cheating on Diamond, however, given the different travel schedules and the circus that is wrestling locker rooms, it happened.
In the 2008 interview in which she confirmed the Angle rumors, Dawn Marie also admitted to having an affair with another wrestler, but wouldn't give a name, but we'd like to believe there's at least a 50 percent chance it's someone else on this list. Better yet, perhaps her makeout scene with Torrie Wilson led to more undressing off-screen? We can dream, right?
9 9. Gangrel
Remember Gangrel, the creepy, fanged member of The Brood? The vampire wrestler was married to his one-time manager Luna Vachon from 1994-2006, but found a new calling after the couple's divorce, the adult industry. He signed a deal with New P*** Order in 2007 to direct at least 12 adult films, the first of which one was colorfully titled Miami Rump Shakerz 2 (note, seeing Miami Rump Shakerz 1 is not required to understand the story of the second installment).
In addition to holding a camera and watching two - or more - people have intercourse (also referred to as directing in the adult entertainment industry), Gangrel had a small on-screen role in his directorial debut, though he was fully clothed. There has been no reports of new films since then. He must have realized directing in the adult industry was hard work.
8 8. Hulk Hogan
If you haven't seen or heard about the Hulk Hogan and Heather Clem leaked tape, we'd like to trade eyes with you. News about the tape became known in 2012 after Hogan's odd sexual encounter with Clem, the estranged wife of radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, in 2006. This was following Hogan's divorce from his wife Linda, when he had turned to drugs and intercourse as a means of distraction.
While news of the sex tape and its eventual release tarnished the image of The Real American beyond repair (he had some, umm, let's just say not politically correct comments on the tape as well), it did earn him a cool paycheck in a lawsuit against Gawker Media, who was responsible for publishing the tape.
7 7. CM Punk
Before we get into the juicy details, let us simply list the women CM Punk has been linked to; Mixed Martial Artist Felice Herrig, Kelly Kelly, Daffney, Allison Danger, Traci Brooks, Beth Phoenix, Becky Bayless, Mickie James, Maria Kanellis, Lita, and, of course, his wife AJ Lee. And that's just counting women in the fight industry.
In 2013, Punk was dating Lita (she was his date to the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony) but still courting eventual wife AJ Lee. Many men would be over the moon to even spend one night with one of the best looking WWE Divas of all-time, but apparently that wasn't enough for Punk, who married Lee in 2014. The most surreal aspect of the Punk/Lee/Lita triangle is the fact that Lee used to idolize Lita and a video exists of a 13-year-old AJ meeting the WWE Hall of Famer.
6 6. Vince McMahon
When you have the amount of power Vince McMahon does, you can almost get away with anything. That's why the WWE boss has put himself in the middle of storylines like having Vince's Devils, which featured scantily-clad Divas doing his bidding, and makeout scenes with Candice Michelle, Trish Stratus, and Sable, among others. The latter, before locking lips with Vince, called out his wife Linda for not being able to satisfy a genuine, American icon.
But while Linda was apparently okay with Vince's on-screen antics, she didn't take too kindly to her husband's many affairs. Vince opened up about his infidelity on The Howard Stern Show years ago, but noted that he hasn't cheated on Linda since. We have to give Vince credit for his honesty (or stupidity), at least; he told Stern that Linda found out about his affairs by simply asking him.
5 5. Mickie James
Five-time WWE Women's Champion Mickie James has a colorful past. Prior to debuting for the company in the mid-2000s, James did a nude photo shoot that put many of the Playboy-posing Divas to shame. The May 2000 Leg Show photo shoot featured James with her legs - and backside - spread open as well as some other provocative positioning. Plain and simple, there's no part of James' body you won't see in the photo shoot.
John Cena knows what we're talking about all too well. James, who was formerly engaged to Kenn Doane (Kenny Dykstra), was caught cheating on her fiancé with Cena in what might be the stupidest way ever. Doane caught her Googling, Mickie James and John Cena dating. When asked about the search, James confessed to Doane, who was later transferred to SmackDown. Coincidentally enough, James was transferred to SmackDown shortly after as she was unable to cope with Cena breaking up with her.
4 4. Buff Bagwell
When nobody would pay Marcus "Buff" Bagwell to wrestler anymore, the former WCW star took it upon himself to cash in on his in-ring ladies man gimmick as a gigolo. Yup, the five-time WCW World Tag Team Champion currently has intercourse for money - and lots of it. He's employed by Cowboys4Angels, which provides male escorts for companionship, and the company charges quite a bit for his services - $800 for two hours and $3,000 for an overnight visit. Better yet, lucky ladies can spend an entire week with Bagwell for the low price of $25,000.
He also appeared on the Showtime TV series Gigolos and, according to Garren James, the Cowboys4Angels owner, Bagwell is the company's second most popular escort. His wife is apparently okay with the lifestyle as the two have remained married since 2001.
3 3. X-Pac
As is often the case, drugs and intercourse become tied together for addicts. Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac in the WWE, battled both at times following his departure from wrestling. He detailed his drug abuse on the Stone Cold Steve Austin Podcast, noting that he would often consume drugs before matches to numb himself. He found himself spiraling out of control and was arrested multiple times for possession.
But the low point for X-Pac came when he appeared alongside ex-girlfriend Joanie Laurer (Chyna) in the adult film 1 Night in China. The tape was meant to be private, but it shows Waltman at his worst. Fortunately, he turned his life around and gave up his drug and sex-fueled life. He now hosts a podcast and remains active in the wrestling community.
2 2. Randy Savage
I do not wish to do business with that man, was a response given by Vince McMahon after being asked about bringing back Macho Man Randy Savage in the early 2000s. Though he has never explicitly stated why he was so against bringing back the two-time World Champion, it's believed it has something to do with an alleged relationship with his daughter, Stephanie McMahon.
Savage was rumored to be involved in a relationship with Stephanie in 1994 when he was 42 and she was just 18. Executives have been tight-lipped but Wrestling Observer Newsletter editor Dave Meltzer said in a 2010 interview that even WWE's top officials believed the rumor to be true. While we'll likely never know if Savage and Steph hooked up in the early 90s, it should be worth noting that Stephanie McMahon is an anagram for the word Macho Man Pe***.
1 1. Ric Flair
The limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin son of a gun persona was more than a gimmick for Ric Flair. The Nature Boy's sexual appetite landed him in hot water on multiple occasions, causing four failed marriages and a lawsuit that sounds like a made-up story if it were against anyone but Flair.
Two Sportjet flight attendants filed the 2002 lawsuit against Flair for allegedly being partially nude on a flight while showing passengers what he was hiding under his bathrobe (hint, it was his privates). When flashing the flight attendants, he allegedly placed their hands on his junk. The Nature Boy's exploits came to the forefront again a few months ago after he claimed he had intercourse with Halle Berry. The actress' representative told TMZ Flair was lying about the encounter, but we refuse to completely doubt any legendary Flair stories.
