Many professional WWE wrestlers have come and gone over the years in the ring. Naturally, over time we go through changes and sometimes for the worst, like your health starts to decline. Numerous wrestlers have trouble maintaining their current weight and meeting the standard of the WWE's perfect physique. It isn't exactly easy to shred some extra pounds quick once you really pile it on.

On the other hand, wrestlers get paid big bucks to be fighting entertainers. In order to put on a show, you must be able to last the match without getting winded prematurely. Numerous wrestlers have made the mistake of looking the other way when their body fat starts to increase. However, it wasn't a permanent transformation for most of them. Some overweight wrestlers came to the realization that they couldn't continue the previous habits they picked up.

The deemed out-of-shape wrestlers made it a priority to get fit again. They decided to take it upon themselves to return to the ring healthier than before. Various female and male wrestlers had to overcome this obstacle and worked hard to come back looking better. They each found their own gym routine and diet that helped to shape themselves into the physical figure they desired.

Here are 15 wrestlers who gained a lot weight but got back in shape.

14 15. Scott Hall

Scott Hall rose to fame in the 1990s, having made his name as Razor Ramon in WWE after spending some time in WCW. He is currently retired from wrestling and is 58-years-old. He was in inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014 for his accomplishments, which include four Intercontinental Championships and various other championships in other wrestling organizations. At one point in his career, he also fought former WWE Champion Bret Hart at Royal Rumble 1993.

Hall has weighed close to 300 pounds throughout his career in wrestling. But, thanks to former wrestler Diamond Dallas Page, Hall has lost a significant amount of weight. Hall stated on Twitter in 2013 that he lost 30 pounds and is down to weighing 268 pounds. He doesn’t plan to stop there and is focused on shredding more fat off.

13 14. Goldust

Goldust has wrestling coursing through his veins, as his father was a WWE Hall of Famer. His dad was known as Dusty Rhodes or “The American Dream”. His half-brother Cody Rhodes once competed in WWE, both under that name and as Stardust, and is now in Impact Wrestling. Goldust has done his family proud by winning 20 championships over his time in the wrestling business. Recently, he formed a tag team duo with R-Truth called the Golden Truth, showing that he's still fit enough to keep up with younger wrestlers despite the fact he's now 47.

In 2013, Goldust stated in an interview that he “feels better than ever after dropping 60 pounds on a no-carb diet.” He was noticeably out of shape when he was using the name Black Reign, but is now in better physical shape compared to the Goldust that was in his prime in the 1990s. Goldust has experienced rock bottom and has bounced back to wrestling healthier than ever.

12 13. Kane

Glenn Jacobs has made a name for himself since 1992 in the wrestling world. After failing with his first two WWE gimmicks, he broke out as Kane in 1997, where he was billed as the crazed half-brother of the The Undertaker. He also defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin back when he was the WWE World Heavyweight champion in the 2000s. Kane not only has built a prestigious legacy, but he has won 23 championships during his career.

Kane had previously weighed in at around 320 pounds and stands 6'8" — that's four inches shorter than his billed height, but he's still quite tall nonetheless. Over the years you can tell that he converted some of the fat he had to muscle. He is now looking more cut and still possesses that same power that made him the wrestler you didn’t want to mess with. Kane might have been heavier back in the day, but he still knows how to put on a show and is an unforgettable icon in WWE.

In the fall of 2015, Triple H decided to try out Dave Palumbo’s 21-day cleansing diet. He was dedicated to going to DeFranco’s gym in East Rutherford, NJ for midnight workouts. In early-2010, James was terminated from her WWE contract. On top of that, she was receiving body-shaming comments from LayCool (Layla El and Michelle McCool) in storyline. They were calling her ‘Piggy James’, because they noticed she was starting to gain weight. James apparently lost enough weight for the WWE to be interested in signing her again, it’s been reported that she signed a multi-year deal in Dec. 2016. She made a surprise comeback during a SmackDown cage match between Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch in January 2017.

His good friend and fellow WWE and WCW alumnus Diamond Dallas Page helped him lose 70 pounds using his intense DDP Yoga program. Jake the Snake saw the great results after staying committed to the program for around nine months. He started doing one or two yoga sessions a day and changed his eating habits. She is a former WWE Diva that lost a substantial amount of weight over time and occasionally jumps back in the ring to make her presence known. She tweeted a picture of herself in 2013, one where many would have to do a double take to recognize her, as she's lost so much weight since her WWE heyday. There is no exact number as to how much weight she actually lost, but it appears that she may now be below the 200-pound mark.

He is currently signed to the WWE under a Legends contract and had just recently retired, not long after he made his long-awaited WWE debut. However, he had a change of heart when he made a surprise appearance at the 2014 Survivor Series.

During the 1990s, when Sting won the NWA World Title, he had a noticeably different physique and skill set. He lost a substantial amount of weight and was able to learn how to wrestle better than he did his previous years.
