Last week we had a fantastic episode of Friday Night SmackDown, so it was going to be hard to keep up this week. Indeed, the most recent edition of SmackDown was nowhere near as good as the previous one, but it wasn't a bad episode by any means.

The storylines are still developing smoothly, and the characters are taking interesting directions, which makes for an entertaining show. We had a couple of good segments, a great match, and the show closed on a high note. So, without further ado, let's take a look at 10 things fans need to know about this week's WWE SmackDown.

10 Chaotic Start

This week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown had a chaotic start with a car accident in the parking lot. Karrion Kross and Scarlett were involved in the accident. Kross was injured and suddenly Drew McIntyre appeared to attack him.

The Scottish Warrior showed no mercy whatsoever, but luckily for Kross several men arrived to restrain McIntyre and take him away. Because of this, Kross was unable to compete in the Fatal Four Way match to determine the number one contender to the Intercontinental Title.

9 Jey Uso Helped Sami Zayn

In the opening match, Sami Zayn faced off against Kofi Kingston. It was a pretty average match, with a few good things here and there. Sami did the "Honorary Uce" shout out in the style of The Usos, which was pretty fun to watch.

Sami was having trouble against Kofi, so Jey Uso got down to business. In the end, Zayn rolled Kingston up with help from Jey. Looks like The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns had an interesting conversation with Jey.

8 Omos & MVP Warned Braun Strowman

After Braun Strowman won a two-on-one handicap match without breaking a sweat, Omos and MVP showed up. MVP grabbed a microphone and told Strowman that he was a great specimen, but that he wasn't the Monster of all Monsters by any means.

MVP said that next to the Nigerian Giant Omos, Strowman looks normal. Strowman was ready to get physical, but Omos and MVP just walked away. Looks like we're in for a massive monster match sooner or later.

7 Rey Mysterio Was On The Verge Of Quitting

Rey Mysterio appeared on this week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown because he needed to talk to Triple H in person, and he couldn't wait until Monday. The iconic masked wrestler told Trips about his suffering, he is devastated by his son Dominik's attitude.

Mysterio said he can't go on like this and quit. However, the boss moved him to the blue brand and convinced him to participate in the Fatal Four Way match for an Intercontinental Title shot, replacing Karrion Kross.

6 Roxanne Perez Made Her Debut

Roxanne Perez made her main roster debut this week on the blue brand. The newcomer immediately teamed up with Shotzi Blackheart and Raquel Rodriguez. Damage CTRL showed up to challenge them to a six-woman tag team match.

Perez was the one who took the pin for Bayley, but she had a good debut overall, looking good, performing a couple of good spots and even kicking out of the Bayley-to-Belly.

5 LA Knight Defeated Mån.sôör

LA Knight faced off against mån.sôör in his first match on the main roster. It was a basic match, but it was perfectly fine considering it was LA Knight's first match since April. He looked good and executed his moves smoothly.

LA Knight got the win with no problems and after the match cut a promo, reminding us all that he is a heel, and he put the whole WWE roster on notice.

4 Legado Del Fantasma Defeated Hit Row

Legado del Fantasma came to SmackDown last week, and the first thing they did was destroy Hit Row. Then, this week Top Dolla and Ashante Adonis took on Cruz del Toro and Joaquin Wilde.

It was a resounding victory for Legado Del Fantasma, which sent a message, or a warning, to the other WWE stables, as they are not on SmackDown to make friends. Even Zelina Vega looked tough as she attacked B-Fab.

3 Liv Morgan Went Mad

Sonya Deville was talking trash about Liv Morgan, saying that she failed, that she was destroyed by Ronda Rousey at Extreme Rules 2022. Suddenly Liv appeared and brutally attacked Sonya. Liv had been showing a wild side since her match against Lacey Evans a couple of weeks ago, but this time she crossed the line.

Morgan put Deville on a table, climbed a scaffold and performed a jaw-dropping flying senton. Liv Morgan is out of control, and it will be very interesting to see what direction her character goes in.

2 Rey Mysterio Earned An Intercontinental Title Shot

Rey Mysterio went from saying "I quit" to winning an Intercontinental Title shot in a span of 90 minutes. He won a Fatal Four Way match against Sheamus, Ricochet and Solo Sikoa. It was a great match, with non-stop action from start to finish. Every man involved had his moment to shine, everyone looked good.

Sami Zayn and Jey Uso showed up to attack Sheamus, so Ridge Holland and Butch showed up to defend their friend. There was a six-on-six brawl at ringside, which left Ricochet and Mysterio one-on-one, with the latter getting the win after a 619 and Frog Splash combination.

1 Bray Wyatt Cut An Emotional Promo

Maybe fans were expecting to see something evil, dark and strange, with a deranged version of Bray Wyatt, but what we saw was the real Wyatt, the real personality of Windham Rotunda. In fact, according to him, this is the first time he shows himself to WWE fans. Bray told the hard times he went through, shed a couple of tears and thanked the WWE universe for always supporting him.

Just when we thought we wouldn't see anything evil, a video of the mask that Bray Wyatt wore when he returned at Extreme Rules appeared, leaving fans with many questions.
