Rightly or wrongly, being a women in the WWE involves receiving critiques on both talent and sex appeal, at least among male fans. While we can all appreciate the ability of former female Superstars like Nicole Bass, Jazz, and Luna Vachon, they never received the same level of fandom as similarly-talented stars or no-talent wrestlers like Christy Hemme, Ashley Massaro, and even more recently, Lana. If the same standards applied to the male wrestlers in WWE, there's absolutely zero chance that the likes of Yokozuna, The Undertaker, and Jinder Mahal would ever become champions. Hell, almost all of the past champions would be exempt, minus the long-locked pretty boys like Shawn Michaels, Edge, and Chris Jericho.

As such, retirement sneaks up earlier for women, especially if they want to have some semblance of a family life following a career in the ring. Having children and starting a family requires much more commitment from the woman, and regular returns to action are almost out of the question. Similarly, Divas like Sunny, who was once desired by every male fan, wouldn't have near the pop from fans if she returned to the WWE in her current state. Below are eight retired Divas who haven't exactly aged with grace and eight who have managed to stay sexy in their advanced age.

16 16. Look Great: Lita

via ewrestlingnews.com

After a brief stint in ECW in 1999, Amy Dumas was given the name Lita in her debut with WWE the following year and paired with Essa Rios. It was quickly evident that Lita could perform the high-flying moves Rios pulled off during his matches and, as such, she was considered for a major push in the Women's Division and eventually paired with the Hardy Boyz, forming Team Xtreme. As talented and fearless as she was in the ring, she was equally beautiful. The red-haired babe had real-life affairs with Edge and CM Punk and was ever-present in the dreams of fans worldwide.

She officially retired from WWE in 2006 but has since returned sporadically and recently made her in-ring return during an MCW show in March. Amazingly, she hardly looks as though she has aged in the past decade away from wrestling. She's now 42 years old but still drop-dead sexy.

15 15. Seen Better Days: Dawn Marie

via twitter.com

Dawn Marie Psaltis is another Diva who originally worked for ECW. She debuted for the promotion in 1998 as the manager of Lance Storm and remained with ECW until it filed for bankruptcy in 2001. After a brief stint on the independent circuit, she joined the WWE in 2002 as Vince McMahon's legal assistant. She's best known for her lengthy feud with Torrie Wilson in which she (kayfabe) married her father killed him from rigorous honeymoon intercourse. It was a disgusting angle, but what wasn't disgusting was the kiss she shared with Wilson, which is - presumably - replayed over and over daily by more than just the author of this list.

She has been active for various independents since her release in 2005, but apparently hasn't been all that active on a treadmill. Dawn Marie has gained a noticeable amount of weight over the past decade and hardly resembles the Diva we once fawned over.

14 14. Look Great: Terri Runnels

If we told you Terri Runnels was 45 years old during the height of her popularity, chance are you would believe us. The truth is that Runnels was only 29 years old when she began managing Goldust back in 1996, but she had a certain bronzed-MILF look to her that made her appear as though she might be well into her 40s. Regardless, she was still one of the hottest Divas of her era and arguably had more sex appeal than the likes of Trish Stratus and Lita.

Runnels turned 50 years old last October and is still in great shape. She posted an Instagram photo in May with her, Goldust (her ex-husband) and their daughter Dakota, and she doesn't appear to have aged a day. She even has no issues wearing a low-cut dress.

13 13. Seen Better Days: Jillian Hall

via twitter.com

It's hard to imagine Jillian Hall looks worse now than she did during her stint with the WWE, especially when you consider for a portion of that time she had a disgusting growth on her face that was eaten off by The Boogeyman. Kidding aside, Hall was a beautiful blonde during her time with the WWE, albeit nearly a carbon copy of many of the other women wrestlers the company tried to push in the mid-2000s.

She was let go by the WWE in 2010 and two years later hit rock bottom after being arrested in a domestic assault dispute with her ex-husband Mike Farole. She looked as though she had put on considerable weight in her unflattering mugshot, which was criticized by fans on Twitter. Credit where credit is due, however, she does seem to be getting back into the shape, similar to the height of her career, so perhaps better days aren't so far ahead.

12 12. Look Great: Victoria

Lisa Marie Varon, better known as Victoria among WWE fans, is 46 years old but still looks as sexy as ever. The two-time WWE Women's Champion debuted with the company in 2001 and stayed with WWE until 2009, when she left to pursue a career in mixed martial arts. That didn't quite pan out, but she has since competed in TNA, ROH, and various independent promotions and it's quite obvious she keeps herself in great shape.

She opened her own wrestling-themed pub and restaurant, The Squared Circle, in Chicago in 2013 and it has been a successful venture. Judging by her slim waist, we're assuming she doesn't eat there often. She was recently a victim of hacking and had photos leaked, let's just say they weren't unflattering.

11 11. Seen Better Days: Stacy Carter

Former WWE Women's Champion The Kat (Stacey Carter) was a prominent sex symbol for the WWE from 1999 until her release in 2001. Upon winning the Women's Championship at Armageddon in 1999, she stripped down and flashed her breasts to the crowd, which is one of the more iconic moments in WWE history. She once wore a bubble-wrap outfit during the Miss Royal Rumble Swimsuit Contest, which was MC'd by Jerry "The King" Lawler, who was her husband at the time.

That was 17 years ago, when Carter was going on 30 years old, so it's not absurd that she aged, but it's hard to believe, while others of a similar age like Runnels and Lita still have a youthful look, that Carter actually looks her age, or even older. The 46 year old looks like a grandmother and there's no other way around it.

10 10. Look Great: Sable

via renalesnar.net

From one 46-year-old who looks a decade older to a 50-year-old who doesn't look a day past 40, we come to Rena Lesnar (formerly Mero, Richardson, and Greek). That's right, the former blonde bombshell who ran the WWE Women's Division in the mid-1990s is now married to Brock Lesnar, who is ten years her junior but apparently recognizes beauty when he sees it.

The former WWE Women's Champion, two-time Slammy Award recipient, and three-time Playboy cover girl is seemingly out of the public eye these days as she resides with her husband in small-town Saskatchewan, Canada. And that's a damn shame because, although she isn't the eye-popping babe she once was, she's still an incredibly attractive woman at 50 years old. Unfortunately, she probably isn't ever going to appear on WWE TV again after filing a $110 million lawsuit against the company in 2005.

9 9. Seen Better Days: Ivory

via twitter.com

Despite being a prominent member in Right to Censor during her WWE tenure, Ivory (Lisa Mary Moretti) didn't mind showcasing her finely-toned, beautiful body in front of WWE camera for photo shoots, and us fans had no complaints either. The brunette wasn't one of the most talked-about Divas in regard to her physical appearance, but you could certainly make the argument that she was one of the most underrated Divas on the roster.

The former three-time WWE Women's Champion and GLOW wrestler is now 55 years old and Father Time hasn't necessarily been her best friend, which often appears to be the case for women - and men for that matter - with bodybuilder-type builds. She has noticeably aged and, like Stacy Carter, has the distinctive grandma look about her. At least we still have the beach photo shoots.

8 8. Look Great: Kelly Kelly

OK, forgive us if this entry is cheating a bit given Kelly Kelly is still only 30 years old, but technically she's still retired from the ring, despite signing on with WWE this past year as an ambassador. As fans of talented and beautiful women, we'd love to have her back competing on TV, but she appears to be comfortable in her post-retirement life alongside her husband, retired NHL player Sheldon Souray.

Kelly, who currently goes by Barbie Blank, was the youngest WWE Diva on the roster at just 19 years old when she made her debut in June of 2006. So you're forgiven if you're surprised she's still only 30 years old, despite being a major player in the Women's Division for five years and spending the next five years away from the industry. If we're being honest, she's even hotter at 30 than she was in her early 20s.

7 7. Seen Better Days: Molly Holly

via 411mania.com

Molly Holly (real name Nora Kristina Benshoof) was a talented wrestler who worked for WWE from 2000 to 2005. She was a two-time WWE Women's Champion and one-time Hardcore Champion and, at times, looked incredibly sexy, whether it was during photo shoots in which she had her long blonde hair or as Mighty Molly, the sidekick to The Hurricane. You have to commend her, however, as it was clear she really didn't care as to whether or not she was perceived as hot, which is evident by the short hair she rocked toward the end of her career and still does to this day.

Unfortunately, for the purposes of this list, that puts her in the "Seen Better Days" category. The 39 year old is certainly a positive role model for young women and continues to train young wrestlers, but, unless we're talking about Mighty Molly, she certainly isn't someone fans will be fawning over any time soon.

6 6. Look Great: Trish Stratus

As if this is any surprise. Admit it. Trish Stratus hasn't appeared regularly on WWE TV since 2006 - with sporadic appearances from 2007 to 2011 - but she has nearly one million followers on Instagram, where fans are able to see photos of Stratus, who is still in incredible shape despite being a 41 year old mother of two.

Part of the reason for that is the seven-time WWE Women's Champion and former Diva of the Decade runs a highly-profitable yoga studio in her hometown of Toronto. Billed as "Canada's largest eco-friendly yoga studio," it opened in 2009 and received a best new business award. She also won Business Woman of the Year from Top Choice Awards, but it's clear she spends equal amounts of time running the business and making sure her body is in pristine shape.

5 5. Seen Better Days: Missy Hyatt

via newsday.com

At the peak of her career, Missy Hyatt was a busty, almost-trashy valet who you might not want to bring home to meet the parents, but one you'd love to spend some quality time with between the sheets. She worked for World Class Championship Wrestling and Universal Wrestling Federation throughout the late 1980s and was once asked to film segments titled Missy's Manor for WWE, but left for WCW when Vince deemed the segments terrible.

Still, she remained a sex symbol throughout the 1990s with WCW and ECW, but things aren't going quite as well for Hyatt these days. The 53 year old recently retired from working the independent scene and has her own regrettable mugshot, which resulted from a 2015 grand theft auto charge.

4 4. Look Great: Stacy Keibler

via hawtcelebs.com

As if it's any surprise that the woman who dated George Clooney a few years back is still in incredible shape. Keiber will turn 38 years old in October, but the "legs" of WWE is still an absolute babe who literally doesn't look as if she aged one day, despite the fact she recently gave birth to her first child. Judging by her Instagram account, she enjoys clean living, frequent exercising, and drinking shakes that we can't entirely be certain of the contents, but whatever's in them is working.

Her legs are still the incredible sight they once were and she hasn't gained a single wrinkle in her face, likely owing to the use of the shakes and extensive cream applications. Keibler hasn't been a regular on WWE programming since 2006, but she looks as though she could step right back in and not miss a beat.

3 3. Seen Better Days: Jazz

via twitter.com

Despite being an intimidating, physical force during her stint with the WWE - she was a two-time WWE Women's Champion - she was physically attractive and had little trouble looking comfortable in front of the camera during photo shoots, in which she showcased her softer side. Despite her short-lived run in the early 2000s, she managed to make quite the impact inside of the squared circle.

Recent photos of her show anything but that. The former Women's Superstars Uncensored Tag Team Champion looks haggard in the above photo, appearing as someone who might appear in the female adaptation of The Wrestler. Surprisingly, she owns a fitness gym and also runs a wrestling school, but we're presuming she doesn't spend much time there.

2 2. Look Great: Torrie Wilson

Like Trish Stratus and Stacy Keibler, Torrie Wilson has dedicated her post-wrestling career to staying fit through healthy eating and a rigorous exercise routine, except Wilson now actually looks in much better shape than she did during her time with the WWE. Back then, was in her late 20s and relied on her natural beauty; still, she was a sex symbol who twice appeared in Playboy and was required viewing when she was on screen on either Raw of SmackDown.

Wilson is now 42 years old, but looks better than most 20 year olds. She still has a youthful-looking face, but her body is much more tighter than it once was. We can't be sure, but she honestly looks as though she's close to having zero percent body fat, or at least within single digits. Not surprisingly, Wilson has 500,000 followers on Instagram, where she posts frequent updates of the results of her fitness routine. She even operates her out fitness website.

1 1. Seen Better Days: Sunny

via tmz.com

Tammy Lynn Sytch, who worked in the WWE in the late 1990s as Sunny, was once the biggest sex symbol in the company and it wasn't even close. The New Jersey native managed successful tag teams such as The Godwinns, The Bodydonnas, and The Smokin' Gunns, but she was often the main attraction while at ringside. Everyone outside of the WWE wanted a piece of her, the men backstage wanted - and had - a piece of her, and most of the women hated her.

She was simply stunning and was curvy in all the right areas, but unlike some of the other women on this list, she clearly didn't keep up with a regular fitness routine. Instead, she racked up alleged drug issues and accrued multiple DUIs, which eventually earned her jail time in January of 2017. She hit rock bottom even before then when she was hosting cam shows online for paying fans. Had she done that a decade earlier, she might have made a pretty penny.
