WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is a wise man. On more than one occasion he has spoken about and offered advice to fellow personalities in the pro wrestling business about dating and marrying people in the work place. Although it can work, he quite rightly says that it more than often ends in tears and controversy. That being said for people in a profession such as wrestling it's hard to meet anyone outside of how you earn your living. You're constantly on the road with the same people day after day so let's be honest, chances are you're going to fall for a fellow wrestler when that's pretty much all you know.

If you're romantically involved with a fellow wrestler under WWE's banner there is another variable thrown into the mix, Vince McMahon. You may be getting along absolutely fine, but if Vince doesn't like the two of you together then prepare for a rough ride. At the very least you may find yourself on separate shows. Sometimes it feels like one of the main reasons Vince introduced the draft concept is so that he can split up couples, and also tag teams. On the other hand if Mr McMahon likes how you look and act as a couple, then prepare for an equally but very different bumpy ride. No one likes to air their dirt laundry in public, but as you'll see from a couple of entries in this list sometimes that's unavoidable in WWE. On more than one occasion the boss has had a couple play out their real life problems on screen for the sake of a WWE story line.

17 15. Hates: Seth Rollins and Zahra Schreiber

via starpulse.com

Since The Shield broke up Roman Reigns may be the man that Vince McMahon wants atop the WWE tree, but Seth Rollins has also been there or thereabouts. Let's not forget that it was The Architect who cashed in his Money in the Bank at WrestleMania 31 to effectively steal that crowning moment from The Big Dog. What makes that cash in even more surprising is mere weeks before the event Seth caused Vince a bit of a headache. Nude photos were leaked of then NXT star Zahra Schreiber on Seth's Twitter, which caused Rollins' – now ex – fiance to release nude pics of Seth in retaliation. Seth and Zahra's relationship may have been one that was under the radar for most of its existence, but it was one that caused Mr McMahon an awful lot of trouble once it was made public.

16 14. Between The Sheets: Maria and Mike Kanellis

Mike and Maria Kanellis debuting
via wwe.com

Vince McMahon is a big fan of attractive women. It's why for so long in WWE female Superstars were hired on their looks ahead of their in ring ability. There was a time when WWE Divas were common place in Playboy magazine, and one of those Divas was Maria Kanellis. That's why I imagine Vince is rubbing his hands together at the fact that Maria has recently returned to the WWE fold after an absence of seven years. Kanellis has progressed a lot in her time away from the company, the main change being that she is now married and brought her husband Mike Bennett along with her. She might be married now but I imagine Vince is just happy to see Maria back under his employ.

15 13. Hates: Matt and Reby Hardy

via gerweck.net

At WrestleMania 33 one of the biggest moments of the night was the return of The Hardy Boyz. Like Maria Kanellis, Matt and Jeff have been extremely busy during their time away from WWE. While in TNA the veteran brothers were one of the hottest acts in professional wrestling outside of WWE with Matt's Broken gimmick. In TNA Matt and Jeff had a whole cast of characters that accompanied them though, including Matt's wife Reby. Even though Reby isn't with WWE she has still been making waves in the wrestling business. Mrs Hardy continues to wage a war with Impact Wrestling via social media, and also took a shot at Lita, Matt's ex and WWE Hall of Famer, recently. If she hangs around back stage at WWE events, I can't imagine Vince is too pleased about it and won't be looking to hire her any time soon.

14 12. Between The Sheets: Sable and Brock Lesnar

via therichest.com

While Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins may be the men being groomed to be the hood ornaments of WWE, they aren't Vince McMahon's most prized possession. That honor falls to The Beast and current Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. It's not something that's flaunted on WWE television but Brock is actually married to former WWE Diva, Sable. If you think Vince loves Brock, then you should see what Mr McMahon thinks of Sable. The former Women's Champion was the original Playboy cover girl when it comes to WWE Divas and one that Vince would flaunt at any possible opportunity. The chairman may have actually liked Sable a little too much as the woman who would later marry The Beast Incarnate actually sued WWE for sexual harassment between her two spells with the company.

13 11. Hates: Carmella and Big Cass

via wrestlezone.com

On the contrary if you take a step down from Rollins and Reigns rather than a step up to Brock Lesnar's level, you'll find a couple of other projects that Vince McMahon clearly has a lot of faith in. The likes of Braun Strowman but for the sake of this entry, Big Cass. Fans may have forgotten that Cass is in a real life relationship with SmackDown Live Superstar Carmella. It's no coincidence that we've almost forgotten about that relationship, and it's no coincidence that the couple are on different shows. Vince clearly sees something in Cass and obviously doesn't want anything distracting the big man from becoming everything Vince thinks that he can be. It's not the first time Vince McMahon has used a brand split to separate partners, and it won't be the last.

12 10. Between The Sheets: Edge and Beth Phoenix

via wwe.com

Edge is one of the nicest guys in professional wrestling. When his career was ended suddenly and prematurely due to injuries it broke fans' hearts, and it will have hurt Vince McMahon also. What probably hurt Vince even more is that he never got the chance to use what would become a real life relationship between Edge and Beth Phoenix on WWE television. There's precedent when it comes to Edge's love life and blurring the lines between kayfabe and reality, but we'll get to that further down the list. Fast forward to the present day, not only are Edge and Beth married with two daughters, but they are the first ever husband and wife combo to be in the Hall of Fame. A couple that Vince must love for what they did for his company and wishes he could still utilize today.

11 9. Hates: Rusev and Lana

via stillrealtous.com

Rusev and Lana, up until extremely recently, were a couple both off and on screen in WWE. They met while learning the ropes in NXT's Performance Center and by all accounts hit it off pretty quickly. If this list had been written a while ago the Total Divas stars would be on the other side of this list, but unfortunately The Bulgarian Brute and his bride gave the boss reason to shift his opinion of them. Lana announced via social media that the two were engaged, right in the middle of a story line where they were at odds with each other. It caused WWE to have to re-route the angle and just a made a general mess of what they had planned. Now the two may be on SmackDown Live, but they are no longer a double act on screen and in the ring.

10 8. Between The Sheets: Alicia Fox and Noam Dar

via wwe.com

This one may not be a real life relationship, but I feel like it warrants a place on the list nonetheless. I say that purely based on the reasons Vince McMahon has kept the bit going for so long and why he loves the two of them together so much. Alicia Fox has been slowly making her way through the 205 Live roster. She's been with Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann, and now finds herself with the Scottish Supernova Noam Dar. You may think that Vince doesn't pay much attention to the cruiserweights, but if this is anything to go by you might want to think again. Apparently McMahon loves these two together and has drawn out this story line because he likes the way Noam says Fox. When he draws out his SO's surname it sounds like a certain other F word, and it's something Vince allegedly finds hilarious.

9 7. Hates: Chyna and X-Pac

via maxim.com

The Ninth Wonder of the World Chyna and her once boyfriend X-Pac may not have been with WWE at the time of their tumultuous relationship, but it caused problems for Vince McMahon nonetheless. In fact it continues to do so to this day. Sean Waltman and the late Chyna were involved in a pretty destructive relationship with one another, fueled by drug use. It wasn't that in particular that caused issue for WWE though. The couple, who had both made names for themselves under Vince's tutelage, proceeded to make and market home made sex tapes. It's the main reason as to why Chyna is still not a part of the WWE Hall of Fame, with Triple H citing that he didn't want children searching for her on the internet and finding said tapes.

8 6. Between The Sheets: Edge and Lita

via heartbreakers.me

I did hint that Edge would be making another appearance a little earlier on in this list, and here we are. This entry is a lot different to the one with his current wife Beth Phoenix though, despite it featuring in the same half of the list as the happily married couple. Edge's relationship with Lita was loved by Vince McMahon for very different reasons. For starters the real life awkwardness of it beginning with Lita cheating on Matt Hardy with Edge gave Vince a great idea for an angle, letting the love triangle play out on TV. He also liked the look of the unpopular pair so much that he had them (almost) perform a live sex show on Raw. If it wasn't for the boundaries of good taste, which Vince has been known to bypass before, he probably would have let the two of them go a lot further than they managed to get before John Cena broke up the party.

6 5. Hates: The Undertaker and Michelle McCool

via mankymedia.com

This one will likely raise a few eyebrows among you. I say that because Vince McMahon quite rightly has an unconditional love for The Undertaker. The Deadman has done more for Vince and WWE than maybe anyone else in history. A large part of that is down to The Undertaker protecting his gimmick. In the past you would rarely see The Phenom as anything but The Undertaker. That was until he married Michelle McCool. The former WWE Diva is pretty active on social media, and unfortunately for Taker and Vince McMahon that includes posting pictures of her husband in every day life. Almost every time a 'real life' photo of The Undertaker surfaces it can be traced back to McCool's social media. Vince may not say it aloud, but I'm sure deep down he hates the fact that Michelle has made his creation seem much less mythical.

5 4. Between The Sheets: Nikki Bella and John Cena

via heavy.com

This is another entry that not so long ago may have very well appeared on the other side of this list. In the present day however Vince McMahon will have nothing but love for WWE's flagship couple. Unlike Rusev and Lana, John Cena did the company thing and waited for the opportune time in WWE's eyes to propose to his girlfriend, now fiance of course, Nikki Bella. That moment came at WrestleMania 33 earlier this year where pretty much everybody knew exactly what was going to happen after their match was over. There aren't many couples that would agree to put off their own engagement until it suits WWE. Then again the pair don't want to get separated on to different shows like others in this list.

4 3. Hates: CM Punk and AJ Lee

via therichest.com

Someone Vince McMahon had more than his hands full with was CM Punk. The former WWE Champion had a strong dislike for how Vince was running WWE and how he himself was being used. So strong in fact that he up and left the company. Well I'd imagine anything related to CM Punk is instantly in the boss's bad books, so naturally his wife and former fellow WWE Superstar doesn't exactly have a fan in Mr McMahon. In fact Punk revealed that his papers informing him of his termination from WWE arrived on his wedding day. Vince has since stated that was purely coincidental, but Punk and AJ are understandably not so sure. AJ was even still at the company when this took place so I imagine it must have been pretty uncomfortable for her at times.

2 2. Between The Sheets: The Miz and Maryse

via wwe.com

Before the return of Maryse the night after WrestleMania 32, to say The Miz's career was floundering would be an understatement. All the way back at WrestleMania XXVII Miz was in the main event and would leave as WWE Champion. The A-Lister couldn't maintain his grip on the top of the card though and quickly descended into obscurity, seemingly never to return. His real life wife however has breathed new life into the former champ and he is now arguably better than he's ever been. When a pairing can perform a miracle like that and bring in extra money for the company, they're going to be in Vince McMahon's good books. Miz and Maryse currently have prime real estate on Raw, something the boss only affords to those he has a particular soft spot for.

1 1. Hates: Paige and Alberto Del Rio

via metronews.ca

No modern day couple in professional wrestling has caused Vince McMahon more trouble than Alberto Del Rio and Paige. It began with the two of them getting together in 2016 and it has only spiraled out of control from there. They were both suspended from WWE under the company's wellness policy. Then photos and videos of Paige were leaked incriminating not only her but also another Superstar under contract with WWE. Plus all the way through this saga Del Rio has been openly taking digs at his former employers, all while his girlfriend/fiance/wife (I can't keep track) Paige is still under contract with them. Vince will be glad he doesn't have to deal with Alberto any more, and unfortunately I'm sure he's trying to find a way he can also shake off Paige.
