Throughout the years, WWE fans have seen their fair share of fascinating feuds. On the other hand, WWE fans have also seen a large amount of dreadful quarrels. For every "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. The Rock or Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker, there's a Ryback vs. [insert wrestler] feud. Then there are those feuds that have the potential to be entertaining but fail to deliver, such as when a tag team splits (cue Titus O'Neil and Darren Young). At the end of the day, it takes two to tango.

There are those dream feuds that wrestling fans never thought they'd see, and then there are dream feuds that wrestling fans will never see despite intense public interest. Here, we take a look at eight feuds in wrestling that are likely to take place and seven that, unfortunately, are unlikely to take place.

23 15. WILL HAPPEN: Seth Rollins vs. Triple H

via fansided.com
via fansided.com

Rollins versus Hunter looks like it's practically inevitable for WrestleMania. Moreover, the two have been embroiled in a feud since August 29th, 2016, when Triple H delivered a Pedigree on Rollins and screwed him out of the WWE Universal Championship. However, The Game, who has quite the busy schedule (primarily related to his day job as a WWE Executive), hasn't been seen on WWE programming since (with the exception of a backstage segment in which he greeted his wife, Stephanie McMahon). The groundwork has been set for this feud and with WrestleMania season just a little over three months away, the two will likely lock it up in the ring. Even if they do not give it a go at WrestleMania, the two will at some point as Rollins was Triple H's prodigy.

22 14. WON'T HAPPEN: Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar

via inquisitr.com
via inquisitr.com

Prior to the 2014 Royal Rumble, Daniel Bryan said, "Facing Brock Lesnar is my ultimate dream match for WrestleMania 31. If you asked me right now what would be your ideal situation for WrestleMania 31, it would be wrestling Brock Lesnar for the WWE world heavyweight championship in the main event. I think Brock Lesnar is the ultimate monster. He is the beast, but I also think I'm the ultimate underdog. I think it's something the fans want to see. I definitely want to see it. So that's what I'm hoping for".

With Bryan facing off against Lensar WWE would create the ultimate David versus Goliath story (aside from James Ellsworth facing Lesnar). WWE's refusal to clear Bryan makes this nothing more than a pipe dream, but you can't really blame them; they do not want any more incidents occurring, as well as avoiding any other potential lawsuits.

21 13. WILL HAPPEN: AJ Styles vs. Seth Rollins

via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com

The Man (a.k.a. the Architect, a.k.a. Seth Freaking Rollins) versus the Phenomenal One (a.k.a. the Face that Runs the Place, a.k.a. the Champ that Runs the Camp). Styles and Rollins have actually mixed it up in the past at an NWA show when Rollins was only 19 and Styles was eight years his senior at 27. At the conclusion of the match, Styles referred to Rollins as the future. Styles and Rollins have never tangled up in the WWE but it's only a matter of time until the two cross paths again. For those who haven't seen the NWA match between the two, do yourself a favor and check it out! Rollins was especially impressive for a nineteen-year-old and he has seriously honed his craft since then. Styles can't put on a bad match if he tried. These two have shown what they can do, now let's see them do it in a WWE ring.

20 12. WON'T HAPPEN: Goldberg vs. Steve Austin

via cagesideseats.com
via cagesideseats.com

During the Monday Night Wars, both WCW and WWE were led by baldheaded baby faces. WCW had what looked to be an unbeatable and indestructible force in Goldberg primarily due to his 173 straight wins without a loss. WWE had the rebellious and profanity laden Steve Austin who was fed up with the antics of his boss and would do all he could to make his life a living hell. Ironically the day after Austin departed with WWE as he adamantly refused to be squashed to Brock Lesnar, Goldberg put pen to paper and signed with the WWE. Goldberg is now forty-nine and Austin is fifty-one. While Goldberg may have just had a match against Lesnar, it was under two minutes long! There's nothing that points to these two being able to put on a solid match and the ship has sailed when it comes to the intrigue for this match.

19 11. WILL HAPPEN: Dean Ambrose vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com
via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com

Nakamura bills himself as the King of Strong Style. The WWE Universe knows Ambrose as the Lunatic Fringe. Sounds like a match made in heaven. Nakamura likes hard-hitting action, and while this makes his matches look more realistic, it isn't always the best thing. Nakamura has been with WWE less than a year and has already injured Samoa Joe by breaking his nose and Austin Aries via a orbital injury. Despite this, Nakamura is regarded as one of the best in the world at what he does. Fortunately for Nakamura, Ambrose enjoys hard-hitting action as well. These two could put on a show, but could put on an absolute clinic if they wrestled in an iron man match or a no holds barred match. Wait patiently everyone; it's just a matter of time before these two are pitted against each other.

18 10. WON'T HAPPEN: Sting vs. The Undertaker

via wrestlingnews.co
via wrestlingnews.co

When Sting finally signed with the WWE in 2014 fans were ecstatic as the final, and arguably most renown WCW holdout had finally inked with the Stamford, Connecticut based WWE. When a wrestler signs with WWE, many begin to think of a multitude of compelling feuds for that wrestler. With Sting, the first thought that went into everyone's mind was "I can't wait to see Sting and The Undertake finally face-off". The team had the perfect opportunity to make the match happen at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California at Levis Stadium. Instead, the company inexplicably pitted Sting versus Triple H and The Undertaker versus Bray Wyatt. Sting's next match came at Night of Champions where he suffered a neck injury that put an end to his WWE career. Taker is at the tail end of his career as well. To the dismay of many, this match will not happen.

17 9. WILL HAPPEN: Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt

via inquisitr.com
via inquisitr.com

The Demon King versus The Eater of Worlds sells itself. Balor and Wyatt both portray eerie personas (in Balor's case, when he puts on the paint of the Demon King) and a feud between the two could make for a spine-chilling and hair-raising experience for the fans. Balor, who is a natural babyface, would be well-received while Wyatt would blossom as the heel in the feud. Unlike Wyatt, Balor only brings out his Demon King gimmick for certain occasions. As a result, Wyatt should pick up multiple victories against Balor when he is not dressed as the Demon King. However, Balor should come up victorious when he calls upon the Demon King. To conclude the feud, you have an enthralling story on whether or not Wyatt can defeat the Demon King like he defeated Balor.

16 8. WON'T HAPPEN: Steve Austin vs. CM Punk

via youtube.com
via youtube.com

During the release for the WWE video game, WWE 13, on which Punk was on the cover, Good Ol JR had an interview with Austin and Punk to promote the game. Tension during the two was teased and it had many wondering if the Texas Rattlesnake and the Second City's CM Punk were set to do battle. The two had even had a run in during an episode of Monday Night Raw. In one corner you'd have Austin who consistently knocked down beers like there was no tomorrow and in the other you'd have Punk who lived a straight edge lifestyle and demeaned the idea of ever touching alcohol. The two were both also the anti authority figures of their respective eras. However, with Punk having quite the falling out with WWE and his focus being on his UFC career and Austin being fifty-one-years-old this won't be happening now or later.

15 7. WILL HAPPEN: Brock Lesnar vs. Kevin Owens

via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com
via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com

Owens recently participated in a Facebook Q&A (along with Sasha Banks) and was asked about his thoughts on facing off against Brock Lesnar. Owens replied, "the biggest, most interesting part about this thing with me versus Brock, is that people don’t think I’d have a chance, and I love proving people wrong. So not only would I survive Suplex City, I think I’d take him to Suplex City. [Lesnar] goes around calling people his b---h, I think I’d make him my b---h!" Way too stir up a feud, Mr. Owens! In fairness, not many are looked at as having a chance against the Beast Incarnate. However, of those on the current WWE roster, Owens is undeniably one of the most formidable opponents for Lesnar. It isn't unfathomable to see Owens defeating Lesnar; it is unfathomable to see a Seth Rollins or AJ Styles do it. Ball's in your court, Beast, Owens has called you out!

14 6. WON'T HAPPEN: John Cena vs. Hulk Hogan

via wrestlingforum.com
via wrestlingforum.com

Cena and Hogan are arguably the two biggest names in the history of the wrestling business and are easily the biggest names of their respective generations. Hogan has two things working against him. Number one, he is sixty-three-years-old and his mobility and ability to put on an even decent wrestling match is minute. Let's not forget he was never the greatest wrestler either. Number two, his contract with the WWE has been terminated as a result of of offensive language he used (pertaining to the n word) in leaked conversation. Cena isn't regarded as the best in ring wrestler either and he isn't one individuals look to to carry a match. Even if this match could take place it would be a snooze fest because Hogan is way past his prime. Not to mention, Hogan has also had prolonged back issues.

13 5. WILL HAPPEN: Cesaro vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com
via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com

Dolph Ziggler is quoted as saying, "Cesaro is the best wrestler hands down all-around. Strength, psychology and just being awesome at wrestling, I think he's the best". After a match on Raw with Cesaro in Chicago (a place that showers Cena with the utmost amount of love), Cena said Cesaro deserved to be in the main event every night. Ziggler is one of the best wrestlers in the company and arguably the best at selling moves. Cena is, I mean, was, "The Face That Ran The Place" (before AJ Styles took that title) and for him to praise Cesaro to such an extent speaks volumes. Nakamura was named the fifth best wrestler of 2015 by PWI in 2015 and the best wrestler of 2014 by the Wrestling Observer. These two would put on an absolute clinic any and every time they'd share a ring. The Swiss Superman and the King of Strong Style makes too much sense to not happen.

12 4. WON'T HAPPEN: The Rock vs. Shawn Michaels

via youtube.com
via youtube.com

With Michaels retired and The Rock being "The Most Electrifying Man", not in sports entertainment, but in Hollywood, the likelihood of this feud is slim to none. The Rock previously held quite the animosity towards Michaels as he felt Michaels was particularly disrespectful to his grandmother at a wrestling show for Polynesian Pacific Pro Wrestling. The Rock went so far as to say he had no desire to work with Michaels in a 2005 interview. The two met during WrestleMania XXIV and spoke and eventually called it water under the bridge. Michaels and The Rock were two of the biggest stars of their era and while a feud between the two today wouldn't hold the same amount of weight as it did in the Attitude Era, it would still be one fans would be instantaneously captivated by. Unfortunately, the likelihood of it happening is the equivalent of Vince McMahon blowing himself up in a limousine again.

10 3. WILL HAPPEN: Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe

via aminoapps.com
via aminoapps.com

Brock Lesnar is billed at standing 6'3'' and weighing in at 290 pounds. Samoa Joe is billed at standing 6'2'' and weighing 282 pounds. Based on the slim height and weight advantage for Lesnar, the two are practically as identical in height and weight in terms of a matchup as you will ever see. As a result, Lesnar doesn't possess the normal imposing physique he does over most of his opponents (i.e. Seth Rollins and Randy Orton). In his last matchup, Orton met the wrath of Lesnar and despite having two inches of height on him Orton didn't like a threat to Lesnar. Joe, a former, and the first two-time NXT Champion, could be a viable foe for Lesnar. However, just because you're a former NXT Champion doesn't mean that your success will translate to the main roster; just ask Neville and Bo Dallas.

9 2. WON'T HAPPEN: Kurt Angle vs. Bret Hart

via thegreenscreen.net
via thegreenscreen.net

The 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist against the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be would make for one of the best, if not the best technical wrestling match ever. Angle could still give it a go here and there despite being 48 years of age. On the other hand, Hart is 59 years of age and hasn't aged as gracefully as his longtime nemesis, the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. Hart could not and would not be cleared for contact either as Goldberg ended Hart's career in a match in WCW in 1999 where he was beyond reckless. Hart suffers from post-concussion syndrome due to the match. Even if Hart could still lace up his boots it would be unfair to say he could deliver an even decent match at age 59.

8 1. WILL HAPPEN: Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles

via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com
via wrestlingphoto.tumblr.com

Most recently WWE fans saw AJ Styles lead The Club in WWE, but he was also their leader in New Japan where they are known as Bullet Club. Prior, Balor also led the group in New Japan Pro Wrestling. With both Styles and Balor having roots with the same stable, WWE can have former members such as Gallows and Anderson also thrown into the feud. Who would they side with? Who would be the face and who would be the heel? The creative direction that can be taken with Styles and Balor is endless - and that's only speaking in terms of the storyline. These two in the ring would give fans a match (and hopefully matches) that fans would talk about for years to come. Styles and Balor may be the two best workers on the planet and fans will enjoy the hell out of a feud between the two.
