In 1992 a shudder was felt in the stream of time and space. In 1994, the shudder became a tremor when the future Triple H debuted for World Championship Wrestling as Terra Ryzing. No one knew it yet at the time but the future of the WWE was just getting his start “Where The Big Boys Play.” In just two short years, he would be up north, making a less than auspicious WrestleMania debut, getting squashed by the Ultimate Warrior. But backstage, as we would eventually learn, he had done the right thing and not caused a stink over Warrior changing the match.

Several years later, the entire company got some Attitude and Triple H would be one of the marquee players of the company both on and off-screen. As the story goes, he would help Russo plot out then-girlfriend, Chyna’s storylines. But he was also one of the few men who were brave/brazen enough to suggest the Screwjob, and he was the one who actually suggested the way out of the Test/Stephanie marriage - he literally worked himself into a shoot.

It wasn't always an easy road and it still isn't, but the Boss and his son-in-law are both mostly in sync when it comes to the future of the business, and it shows off-screen. Here are 15 Little Known Facts About Triple H And Vince McMahon.

15 Steph’s Off Limits

via youtube.com

This one might seem like a no brainer, and it definitely is one. The boss’ daughter, who Jim Cornette once referred to as a Demi Moore lookalike, would be considered off-limits in any company. But when it's Stephanie McMahon?! You'd have to be asking to be terminated. If you've ever had an inkling as to how the business used to be run, then you'd know it used to be run like the mob, making her the equivalent of a mafia princess.

Apparently, the Game didn't mind risking his career or his neck, for that matter.

He knew what the ramifications could be if things didn't work out, but the couple persisted despite Vince’s approvals and disapprovals and eventual approvals. Triple H knew what was at stake and still pushed forth, especially after getting advice from the Undertaker. Vince eventually acquiesced and approved of the relationship, which has continued to thrive to this day.

14 The Match Made In Heaven

via youtube.com

Ever since the wedding of Uncle Elmer on Saturday Night’s Main Event, weddings and wrestling have gone together like significant others go together. AJ Lee and Daniel Bryan, Lita and Kane, Billy and Chuck - sure they all ended badly, but they were also memorable moments. The wedding of the Macho Man and Elizabeth even main evented SummerSlam!

So why wouldn't Vince want to broadcast the wedding of his baby girl to one of his most trusted and gifted performers back in 2003? Vince’s initial thought was that the guest list would be tremendous - enough to fill an arena. So why not fill an arena with the McMahon and Levesque families and their closest friends? Hunter and Steph thought the Chairman was joking. They promptly talked him out of it when they realized he was deadly serious.

13 Running NXT

via wrestling-edge.com

Since 2013, the WWE developmental program has been run solely by Triple H. While he gets tons of praise heaped upon him for the work he and his team are doing, none of it would be possible without getting the green light from Vince McMahon. By the way, greenlight = Carte Blanche.

What makes NXT unlike any other developmental territory in WWE history is that Vince McMahon has always had control over his minor leagues.

That includes ECW, and he employed that brand’s owner! Giving the Cerebral Assassin the reigns and letting him dictate how things go have allowed for all kinds of things to spin out of NXT, most notably, the Curiserweight Classic, the Mae Young Classic, and War Games. But it also shows just how much Vince trusts his son-in-law, which he better. After all, unless there's something in Vince's will no one knows about, when the Boss chooses to stop breathing, certainly Triple H is taking over in some capacity.

12 Even Without Steph, The Game’s Still The Man

via prowrestlingstories.com

While being married to Stephanie certainly has its perks, that doesn't change the fact that Hunter Hearst Helmsley is and always has been a die-hard fan of the business, long before he signed, long before he met Stephanie, or even strong man Ted Arcidi, the guy who convinced the Game to start training.

That pure love for the business plus hard work and dedication would have cemented Triple H’s place in the industry whether he married Stephanie or not. By all accounts, he always found a way to find something to do creatively besides being creative in the ring. In WCW, he helped train DDP and the Giant while befriending vets like Steven Regal. Up north, he immediately started riding with the top dogs and learning from them - the Kliq was born. By many accounts (unless they're just brown nosing), Triple H still might very well be in the position he is in today. Perhaps not with as much autonomy as he has, but he would still undoubtedly be one of Vince’s most trusted Lieutenants.

11 Vince Beat Him For The Title

f4online.com

For all the flack Vince Russo receives for booking himself to accidentally become WCW World Champion, Vince McMahon is actually a two-time world champion, one for ECW and one WWF champion. That's not to defend or vindicate Russo, merely to point out inconsistencies within the business.

Vince McMahon actually booked himself to defeat Triple H for the world title, not by accident and not a rib. After defeating Mankind for his very first World Championship gold the day after SummerSlam 1999, Triple H would lose the strap to the Chairman a few weeks later. For all the hub-bub and frustration his critics have for how he supposedly doesn't want to put people over, here is Triple H, not even a month into his first title frame looking up at the lights for a then-54-year-old man to become the WWE champion, how's that for showing respect?

10 Stan T. Rex

via twitter.com

Vince McMahon bought a small regional promotion and turned it into a global juggernaut with their hand in music, movies, no to mention consistently taking risks to branch out everywhere, he might be the most daring media mogul of the 21st century. When people speak about him, Vince thinks sleep is the enemy and there's no such thing as sick. Bruce Prichard had told stories about this guy gleefully driving at warp-nine in torrential downpours, laughing maniacally along the way.

If that's not a lust for life, we all have to figure out what living really is.

You might say that the Chairman has a voracious appetite for life and adventure. Why else would the guy have the skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex in his office?! Or at least that's why the Game gifted the Game-In-Law with such a grandiose present. He found the thing while filming the Chaperone and Vince has kept it ever since, even naming it Stan T. Rex.

9 Plenty Of Disagreements

via cagesideseats.com

In case you didn't notice, Vince loves competition, he's been creating his own ever since WCW went out of business. That also means he's a fan of disagreements, too. While he might have plenty of sycophants around him, the more divergent opinions that the boss has to cull from, the more possibilities the product has to be better.

While Triple H and Vince are very much in sync on a lot of their philosophies, both the Chairman and the Chairman-in-law certainly also have differing opinions on plenty of wrestlers and wrestling events. It's why War Games came to NXT and not WWE. But their occasional disagreements don't stop at bringing back a staple of the NWA/WCW. When Asuka was back in NXT and dismantling the women’s division, Vince was ready for Asuka and wanted to bring her up. Triple H, who has already seen most of his women's roster at that time, pilfered demanded that he keep the Empress of Tomorrow.

8 Permission For The Curtain Call

wwe.com

It has been talked about to death, and seemingly there is a huge schism in the wrestling industry; pre-curtain call and post-curtain call. May 19, 1996 - at an MSG house show, Triple H took on Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels took on Diesel during the nights main event. The show was the last one for Razor and Diesel before they took off for WCW and would shock the wrestling world.

The Curtain Call, for the three people who don't know had the two heels - Triple H and Diesel were in the ring with the two faces HBK and Razor, all standing together arm in arm, showing their real-life love and affection for one another as members of the Kliq. We all know that it would send shockwaves through the industry and HHH would eat crow several months after. But it's not something that the boys would have just done themselves. That the part that gets left out of most of these retellings - Vince McMahon certainly would have ok’d at least some of the proceedings of this night before it went too far and became the infamous Curtain Call.

7 The Dunn Paradigm

via reddit.com

Even the most novice of fans have certainly heard the name of Kevin Dunn. A longtime employee since the eighties with roots dating back to the seventies and Vincent James McMahon. When VKM took over in the eighties, Dunn was hired full time and has been the executive producer of WWE ever since.

His thoughts of how the product should be produced have echoed and influenced Vince plenty of times throughout the years. But like many regime changes throughout history, all of this only matters in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. Rumour and innuendo would have you believe that once Triple H is firmly in charge and in power, he's going to make a lot of changes and plenty of executive spots might change as well. If Dunn isn't able to fall in line and execute Triple H’s vision, he could wind up on the chopping block.

6 Loved Vince Before Steph

wordpress.com

The Game left guaranteed money in WCW for just a handshake opportunity with the WWE…we all know that paid off for him swimmingly. In theory, he's watched and admired the boss since 1995 - 23 years of watching Vince hire all the right people (hopefully) and juggle several different balls while spinning several different plates to keep the whole house of cards from falling over.

Like many men under the employ of Vince McMahon, Triple H was enamoured with his boss from the jump, way before he met the Billion Dollar Princess.

In fact, Mrs. Levesque has even called her hubby out on his affections for his father-in-law in an interview with the Huffington Post. “Triple H always says that he loved Vince first.” At this point, that's gotta be a huge family joke - “well goddamn pal, you said you loved me…”

5 Katie Vick

via dailymotion.com

In a business full of tasteless and classless storylines (and even the most ardent die-hard fans know what “WrestleCrap” is. Then we have complete terrible ideas on the scale of 1 to Katie Vick. If you’ve never heard or read about this godawful in poor taste, perhaps everything’s that wrong with wrestling angle, then look no further than Katie Vick, in a nutshell – Katie was Kane’s High School crush that died in a car accident while Kane was driving the car. HHH added fuel to the Kane’s fire by spreading vitriol that the Big Red Machine was Big Red Necrophiliac too.

But sadly, the angle to show all of this was shot so seriously by Vince, that it fell completely flat. According to Bruce Prichard, not only did Vince want the Game to pull this off, but he refused to let HHH and Bruce even film their version, which according to Brother Love was supposed to be played up for parody and could have been hysterical.

4 Workout Fiends

via sportskeeda.com

Have you looked at Triple H lately?! While he isn't as big as he used to be, which is actually a good thing as far as wrestling goes, when he does wrestle, the Cerebral Assassin is still massive. His physique is much more streamlined than when he was active, but certainly doesn't look anywhere near his 48 years.

Obviously, his father-in-law is no slouch either and the guy was tremendous back in his day and still is, having graced the cover of Muscle And Fitness not too long ago. Both of these guys are crazy workout fiends, who will stay in the office all day and work out all night. If you think HHH working out at midnight is insane, how about the fact that the Boss pushing his biceps to the limit. According to both Mr. and Mrs. Game, they recently told TMZ that even they can't keep up with the Chairman, who will stay in the office until 11pm then hit the gym til ungodly hours. Guess that's what happens when you're a workout fiend whose kids have families of their own and the wife works for the President now.

3 More Power

via givemesport.com

More power isn't just a popular phrase uttered on 1990’s family show, Home Improvement, it's something Vince McMahon keeps doling out to his son-in-law. While Vince used to give autonomy to plenty of people to do their thing in the ring, backstage, wherever. In recent years, Vince has become quite the micro manager. But someone like Triple H doesn't need to be nor is micro managed by the boss. Instead, he has been giving more and more power to the Cerebral Assassin since long before he became part of the family. Look no further to his involvement in booking meetings that put him with Steph in the first place as a bit of proof of this.

Triple H is the head of developmental. That's all of NXT, the Mae Young and Cruiserweight Classics, and the U.K. Title tournament. Thanks to the Game, just about every single match of the past four WrestleManias have included at least one NXT alumni, a number then has steadily been growing. Triple H is generally praised for the work he has done and with Vince started the XFL again, in theory the Game’s getting the ball.

2 They Eat Together

wordpress.com

It sounds trite and this entry might be a bit mundane but the boss and the future boss eat their meals together, but not like the superstars waiting on line at catering - but these two musclebound meatheads have their prepared, premade meals together just about every time they can.

What do two amateur bodybuilders who could both probably get their pro cards tomorrow if they tried eat. Considering how disciplined they both are, it's probably something similar to the diet plan Triple H revealed he was on several years ago. While it's not the dried oats and boiled chicken combo plenty of hard bodies go for, it is the weight lifters regiment of six small meals a day to keep up a speedy metabolism. Plenty of vegetables, fruits, starchy type foods and enough water to drown a desert. While Vince probably doesn't cut out water before a big show, certainly the Game must cut out all water at least two days before a big show so he can look as cut as possible right before say…WrestleMania 34 when he was about to tap to Ronda Rousey.

1 They're Best Buddies

via twitter.com

To spend so much time with the boss, who also is the most powerful man in the industry, and just happens to be your father-in-law; you're either completely certifiably nuts (which Triple H might be), or you actually enjoy spending THAT much time with the guy! They're certainly the best of friends too. The Chairman has more or less been hanging and banging with the boys for years, pretty much every top guy has told stories of how you need to have some sort of relationship with the Chairman, while it might not always lead to a run at the top (re: R-Truth), it could lead to gainful long-term employment (re: R-Truth).

Vince has been living vicariously through Triple H for years. He did start out as a Connecticut royalty, much like his future father-in-law purports himself to be. But the workouts, the meals, the family they share, the fact that they're both New Englanders, of corse their best buddies!
