Adam Cole will defend his NXT Title at Survivor Series, but his challenger will not be decided until the night before.

Ever since the latest iteration of the draft, Survivor Series has been all about brand supremacy. This time around, there'll be a twist. NXT is getting in on the action. All three brands Women's, Tag, and secondary champions will clash in three different triple threat matches on Sunday night. However, the three brands World Champions will not be clashing.

That was confirmed when Rey Mysterio challenged Brock Lesnar to a singles match for the WWE Championship. Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan will get his chance to try and defeat The Fiend, and take his Universal Championship in the process. We assumed that means Adam Cole will be a part of NXT's five-man men's team, but we now know that will not be the case.

That's because at NXT TakeOver: WarGames, three men will compete for the chance to take on Cole the following night at Survivor Series. Pete Dunne, Damian Priest, and Killian Dain, who have been at odds for weeks, will clash for the chance to become number one contender. Then just 24 hours after going through what we're assuming will be a grueling battle, the biggest opportunity of their career to date will present itself.

The good news is that Cole will be as beaten up as whoever wins the triple threat, if not more so. The champ might not know who his Survivor Series opponent will be yet, but he does know that he will be a part of the men's WarGames match on Saturday. Plus, Cole is already beaten up from the ladder match he won in order to gain the WarGames advantage for Undisputed ERA.

The take-home from all of this is that the NXT roster has a huge weekend ahead of them. The aim is to get more people watching the black and gold brand and establish its stars without moving them to Raw or SmackDown. Time will tell whether that has been a success, and how they do across this whole weekend will play the biggest part in that.
