Somehow, rumors of CM Punk becoming a fifth member of Undisputed Era got started and Adam Cole quickly answered whether or not there was any truth to them.

During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Cole was asked about his appearance on WWE Backstage when Punk made his surprise return and the influence Punk has played on his career as a professional wrestler. For those that didn't already know, it became clear from his appearance that Cole was a fan. But, is he fan enough that Punk would be a shoe-in as an additional member of Cole's faction Undisputed Era should Punk make a return?

The answer appears to be no.

“The Undisputed Era, the four that we are, couldn’t get any better," Cole said when asked. He added, "We’re the flag-bearers of the NXT brand, and we are perfect the way we are. I wouldn’t add a male, I wouldn’t add a female, and we won’t add CM Punk."

Well, that was emphatic.

Cole did say that people who follow him know how big a fan of Punk's he is but that doesn't equate to expanding the group of include Punk. And, for Punk's perspective, he's likely too big a personality to want to join a faction anyways. Should he make a return to professional wrestling, namely WWE, it would be as a singles wrestler since it would be the biggest story in wrestling over the past five years.

We Would Like To See Punk Back Though

In fact, while Punk in Undisputed Era might be cool, what would be even better would be Punk versus Cole in a singles match. That would be a dream match that would immediately draw fans to a show like WrestleMania.

Make it happen WWE.
