All Elite Wrestling has a Women's Champion now, having crowned their very first on AEW Dynamite's TNT debut on Wednesday night.

The show kicked off rather impressively and continued on in that vein. But the only title match on the night was for the Women's Championship.

Nyla Rose and Riho went head to head for the coveted prize, battling it out in front of an effusive Washington D.C crowd and proving their credentials.

Britt Baker joined the announce crew for commentary on the match. But, of course, she was really scouting as she's likely to challenge for the belt now that someone has it.

The crew noted Rose's growing up in the D.C area during the match, also detailing Riho's wrestling background and disclosing that the 22-year-old has been wrestling from the tender age of nine.

The much bigger Rose dominated the match in its early going, handling everything Riho tried sending her way. Even an attempt at a flying crossbody was thwarted as Rose simply caught Riho in midair and administered a backbreaker.

Things turned around after Nyla got a few chairs out from under the ring and then slammed all of her weight into them as Riho rolled away at the last second. The latter would deliver a remarkable top rope knee drop during the commercial break - there was picture-in-picture during ads, so all good.

Rose later executed a Death Valley Driver for a near fall then climbed to the top rope before Riho climbed up after her to deliver several rights and a subsequent Northern Lights Suplex from the top for a near fall.

A couple of running knees, though, saw Riho get that three-count to defeat her opponent and become AEW's inaugural Women's champion.

That wouldn't be all, however. Rose would attack Riho and Michael Nakazawa after he came out to the ring to congratulate the champ. Rose hit a post-loss Death Valley Driver on Riho but Kenny Omega rushed out to prevent her from causing more chaos.
