Awesome Kong has been one of the top female talents in professional wrestling for over a decade, having dominated wherever she has gone. Kong has worked in all the top promotions, from WWE to TNA, and now AEW.

She's one of the greatest female wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots, being able to dominate opponents due to her size and strength advantage. However, despite that, she has always remained incredibly agile and athletic at the same time.

10 Nightmare Collective

Since debuting with AEW, Awesome Kong has played an important role in the women's division, working as one of the most physically dominant talents on the roster. She was paired with Brandi Rhodes early on to create the Nightmare Collective.

It still hasn't been fully explained why the group was put together, and Brandi Rhodes is displaying signs of a change, but for now, that's where she slots into her new home, AEW.

9 She's Currently Injured

Something that is important to know currently about Awesome Kong is the fact she is actually injured right now. The wrestling veteran was written out of television on the recent AEW DARK episode, and that's because she's legitimately injured.

AEW revealed that they don't know when or if Awesome Kong will be returning to the ring, setting up a potentially major storyline that Kong could be retiring from professional wrestling.

Of course, it is unknown at this point whether or not that will be the case, but for now, at least, she will not be competing in the ring.

8 Starting In Japan

While she has spent the majority of her career dominating the American wrestling scene, Awesome Kong actually kickstarted her career in Japan back in 2002. While she trained and got a few opportunities in America, her big break was in the land of the rising sun.

Awesome Kong spent several years in Japan, working around in the country from 2002-2007. During that time she worked for a variety of different promotions and made her mark in all of them.

7 Amazing Kong

Speaking of her early career, while people now know her around the world as Awesome Kong, this wasn't actually the name that she used at the beginning of her career. The word Awesome was tweaked when she arrived in TNA.

Originally, she was known as Amazing Kong, with this being the name that she had to break into the business with. However, after a couple of weeks in TNA, the decision was made to swap things around and the rest is history.

6 Working In WWE

While Awesome Kong spent large portions of her wrestling career outside of WWE, she did eventually land a contract with the biggest company in wrestling. Her name was changed to Kharma and she was brought in with a gimmick that made it clear she was out to destroy the typical 'Divas.'

Kharma appeared and destroyed Michelle McCool, making her a clear target. However, after just a couple of weeks, she got in the ring and broke down in a promo, leaving for several months after becoming pregnant.

Unfortunately, she lost that baby through a miscarriage and her WWE career never got going as a result. Obviously, making the right decision to take some time to mentally grieve and recover.

5 Royal Rumble Participant

Royal Rumble Kharma

Awesome Kong only ever had one official match in WWE, and that just so happened to be the men's 2012 Royal Rumble match. She was a surprise entrant and gained an incredible response from the fans who were ready to see her kick ass.

She hit the ring and proved there wasn't going to be a problem hanging with the men, eliminating Hunico from the match in style. She was only the third woman in history to compete in a men's Royal Rumble.

Something that a lot of wrestling fans might not know about Awesome Kong is that she's appeared in a major music video. While it might not have anything to do with her wrestling career, it does prove she has name value outside the sport.

The video is for Katy Perry's song, "Swish Swish," where Kong makes a brief cameo appearance within it. It's something many wrestling fans have missed unless they like Katy Perry's music, but it's certainly a neat fact.

3 AEW Coach

While Awesome Kong was hired by AEW to be an in-ring talent due to the fact she still has plenty to offer the business, that isn't the only role that she undertook when she joined the company.

Because many of the wrestlers in AEW are very new to working at such a level, the company smartly brought in many veterans behind the scenes. That is where Awesome Kong has stepped in.

Kong works, not only as an in-ring talent but also as a backstage coach. She is there to help the women's wrestlers develop as quickly as possible and she is certainly a great person to learn from.
