AEW has a fantastic roster, and it's one with a lot of quality across the board. The roster has been allowed to thrive in the ring with lengthy matches, and they've shown plenty of personality as well. However, not every gimmick is currently working, which is something to be expected.

There are always going to be some ideas that don't land or need to be tweaked, and to AEW's credit, the company has shaken things up at times when needed. Right now, there are plenty of wrestlers who could do with a change of presentation, and being given a repackage could allow them to thrive even further.

9 Joey Janela

AEW joey janela

When AEW first started, it seemed that Joey Janela had the potential to be one of the big stars in the company. However, after an impressive start early on, he has since floundered and struggled to appear on Dynamite.

A big reason for that is his gimmick. Janela needs to change things up as what is currently happening clearly isn't working for him, which is a shame as he's a talented in-ring worker.

8 Kris Statlander

kris statlander

Kris Statlander is a popular wrestler, but throwing her in with Best Friends seems like it has been done just for the sake of it. She doesn't need much repackaging but taking her back to how she was prior to her injury would be a wise move.

There's no need for her to randomly start hanging out with them, as she was far more impressive as a solo act. It allowed Kris to focus on her own gimmick and push that, rather than fall into the same schtick that others already do. Here's hoping a renewed focus is placed on Statlander as a singles star.

7 Leva Bates

Leva Bates Rache Chanel

Leva Bates might not be someone that AEW is looking to push to the top of the women's division, but she is a solid wrestler and someone who can be incredibly entertaining if given the chance.

However, right now working as The Librarian, she has a character that nobody cares about. It's not an interesting gimmick and one that has stopped Leva from truly shining so far, and a change to something more serious could help her.

6 Brandon Cutler

Brandon Cutler in AEW

Similar to Leva Bates, Brandon Cutler hasn't really been allowed to showcase his ability too much. He is simply seen as the best friend of The Young Bucks who films for their YouTube channel, which isn't a gimmick to really invest in.

If he was repackaged and given a little more purpose, he would become a character that fans care about. Playing off the fact he gets used by the 'Bucks would be a fun route to take, and is something that would put some fire into his character.

5 Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes AEW

AEW shot themselves in the foot by saying Cody Rhodes could never be the World Champion, as it has impacted his character overall. He's nowhere near as engaging or as interesting after that announcement, and a repackage is needed for him.

Cody relied heavily on the crowd being massively behind him, which isn't helping right now either, but a slight change in direction and possibly even a heel turn could just freshen him up once again.

4 Luther

Luther

Luther is famous for being a deathmatch legend in Japan, yet that's something that has never been seen properly in AEW. Instead, he has mainly been used to just put over other wrestlers, but why not play on his past and make the most of that?

AEW has happily done dangerous matches before with lots of violence, so why not do it again? He could have a spot in the mid-card if booked correctly, and playing on his violent past could do just that.

3 Proud And Powerful

Proud n Powerful

The Inner Circle recently turned babyfaces, and so far it's working well, but Proud And Powerful do stand out. While Jericho, Guevara, and Hager feel natural as babyfaces, for this tag team it's not quite clicking.

They're far more enjoyable as dominant heels who take no prisoners from anybody. Switching them back to that and finally giving them the big tag team push that they've yet to have would be a good move.

2 Frankie Kazarian

Frankie Kazarian in ring

A repackage for Frankie Kazarian is likely to happen down the line, because the next time SCU loses, they will break up as a tag team. But out of the two of them, he has the most upside still, as was shown by his recent match against Christian Cage.

Frankie can still work at a very high level, and it's time that AEW really pushes that and brings the best out of him, with a repackaged character.

1 Hangman Page

Some people love Hangman Page with The Dark Order, others don't, and a big reason people don't is that it has diluted him somewhat. Page was on a roll as one of the top stars in the company, but being thrown in with the group seems to have taken him backward.

Page doesn't need to be doing comedy bits for the approval of others backstage. Instead, he should be the badass who will take it to the man and is prepared to fight against The Elite to take back control of the company.
