AJ Styles Believes Ronda Rousey Could Be The Next Kurt Angle

We now know when we will be seeing Ronda Rousey in a WWE ring once again. The former UFC Bantamweight Champion shocked WWE fans when she crashed the party following the culmination of the first ever women's Royal Rumble match. We have not seen her since but have now been informed that she will be at Elimination Chamber for her contract signing.

The question remains though when will we see her compete inside the squared circle? That day will likely not come until WrestleMania. Even though Rousey has been training at the Performance Center WWE won't want to rush her in-ring debut and will want to ensure that she is ready. She may be an established MMA fighter but pro wrestling is a whole different ball game.

One man who seems to think that she will take to the world of WWE like a duck to water is AJ Styles. TMZ Sports recently caught up with The Phenomenal One and they asked him what he thinks of Rousey in WWE. The current WWE Champion reminded them of how quickly Kurt Angle adapted to professional wrestling and thinks that Rousey's Olympic pedigree will enable her to do the same.

While Rousey's bronze medal in judo might not be quite as impressive as Angle's gold in wrestling, there are certainly parallels to be drawn. Angle's ability as an athlete meant that he adapted to pro wrestling quicker than anyone has before or since. There is no question that Rousey is an incredible athlete also and hopefully she will exhibit those same abilities and instincts that Kurt Angle did 20 years ago.

Ultimately we will not know how good or bad a pro wrestler Ronda Rousey is until she competes in WWE for the first time. There is an outside chance that she will wrestle before April 8th but at the moment all signs point to her making her debut at WrestleMania in New Orelans. It could be against Charlotte Flair or maybe even Asuka, let's just hope whoever it is that she is ready and that it will be a promising start to a full time career with WWE.
