Andrade 'Cien' Almas has lost the NXT Championship and it was actually Zelina Vega who was partly responsible for her client's undoing.

Andrade 'Cien' Almas is perhaps the most unlikely champion that we have seen so far in NXT. It wasn't too long ago that the luchador was neglecting his performances in the ring in favor of enjoying the night life awaiting him after he was done with work. That all changed when Zelina Vega arrived on the scene to whip him into shape.

It didn't take long for Almas to ascend up the ranks in NXT with Vega by his side and last November he found himself in the ring opposite Drew McIntyre. The Mexican star won the match and shocked the NXT Universe by becoming the yellow and black brand's champion. Since then he has continually fought off Johnny Gargano although he has had more than a helping hand from Vega during those battles.

On Saturday night at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans Almas faced a different challenge though, the talented and intimidating Aleister Black. The champ had continually been getting the better of Black in the build to their championship showdown but that was only through underhanded tactics and sneak attacks. When facing him one on one it was a different matter and we now have a new NXT Champion.

It wasn't as if Vega wasn't there this time either, Black just had to counter everything she threw at him. By our count she interfered in the match a grand total of five times and the last time she actually helped cost Almas the match. Vega performed a crossbody from the top rope, Black ducked, Alamas caught her and then received a Black Mass from his opponent with his manager in his arms. That proved to be enough to keep the now former champion down.

So we have a brand new NXT Champion and that raises a lot of questions. Not only who will challenge Black first, but what's next for Almas? There have been rumors that he is on his way to the main roster and now he's not champion those rumors may come true. However Drew McIntyre stated on the kick off show that he wants revenge for the former champ causing his injury so perhaps his work in NXT isn't done quite yet.
