Alexa Bliss spent most of her time in NXT as a manager for Blake and Murphy. Even when she ventured out on her own, she didn't find a ton of success. Bliss never competed on a TakeOver or held the NXT Women's Championship. Yet when she got drafted to SmackDown, she shot up to superstardom.
Within a few months, Bliss captured the SmackDown Women's Title. Since then, she has continued to rack up success and is one of the most decorated athletes on the roster. Along the way, Bliss has put on some pretty great matches. We're here to rank the 10 best of her career so far.
10 Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie James - TLC 2017
The relationship between Alexa Bliss and Mickie James is a storied one. When James returned to the main roster in early 2017, it was to assist Bliss against Becky Lynch. Their partnership had its ups and downs, with a big downer coming in the fall of 2017. The two began feuding over Bliss' Raw Women's Title.
They traded verbal barbs, some of which were fun like James saying Bliss had a "biscuit butt." But the match was a bit more serious. Bliss took James lightly, so the veteran took her to school. Things got heated and they started trading some vicious looking strikes. Bliss survived and retained her title with a DDT.
9 Alexa Bliss vs. Ember Moon vs. Natalya vs. Sasha Banks - Raw 6/11/18
With Money in the Bank right around the corner, some of the competitors took part in this match. It worked as a preview and turned out to be nearly as good. The women were given over 20 minutes and they kicked off Raw with a bang.
All four women got a chance to strut their stuff. Alexa was cunning, Natalya showed her technical skills, Moon brought the athleticism, and Banks demonstrated a mixture of those qualities. Unfortunately for Alexa, she took the loss when she tapped out to Natalya's Sharpshooter.
8 Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Carmella vs. Naomi vs. Natalya vs. Nikki Bella - Backlash 2016
When the Draft happened back in 2016, many people viewed the SmackDown women's division as weaker. Raw had names like Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, and Paige. The SmackDown side was filled out by unproven commodities. One of those was Alexa Bliss.
At Backlash 2016, SmackDown put their top six women in a huge match to determine the inaugural SmackDown Women's Champion. Bliss shined brightly in this match but so did everyone else. Things moved at a fast pace with everyone getting something to do. It would probably rank higher if Alexa wasn't eliminated first.
7 Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks - Great Balls of Fire 2017
WWE naming a pay-per-view Great Balls of Fire was one of their stranger decisions. Thankfully, we were treated to some strong matches, including Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe and this clash between Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks. It isn't news that Bliss and Banks have their fair share of issues behind the scenes.
That made everything done during this match feel more intense. When they hit each other, you could sense there was a little something extra behind the shots. The only problem with this match was a lackluster finish. Alexa got counted out and their eventual rematch at SummerSlam wasn't nearly as good.
6 Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch - TLC 2016
The first huge win of Alexa Bliss' career came at TLC 2016. During the Draft, Becky Lynch was the first woman taken by SmackDown while Bliss was a supplemental pick in the later rounds. Lynch was crowned as the first SmackDown Women's Champion and looked to lead the division going forward.
However, Becky ran into a roadblock in Alexa Bliss. Just about three months after winning the title, Becky had to defend it against Bliss in a Tables Match. Not many believed Alexa had a chance. She surprised everyone by hanging tough with Becky and winning the title by powerbombing her through a table.
5 Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch - SmackDown 11/8/16
Yes, it is Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch again. This match actually happened before Alexa won the SmackDown Women's Championship. It was her first solo crack at the title and her biggest main roster test. These two were given a big spot in front of a rare televised audience in Scotland and they stole the show.
Alexa Bliss showed off the kind of cunningness that has made her so successful. She had a smart game plan and put it to work against Becky Lynch. It led her to come close to winning the title on several occasions. It wasn't meant to be as she tapped to the Dis-Arm-Her. There was controversy though, as Alexa's foot was under the bottom rope when it happened. Regardless, this helped solidify the fact that Bliss was a star.
4 Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley vs. Emma vs. Nia Jax vs. Sasha Banks - No Mercy 2017
Sometimes, having a great match is as simple as putting a bunch of talented wrestlers together. That was the case at No Mercy 2017. Alexa Bliss was riding high as Raw Women's Champion and faced her toughest challenge against four of the top ladies on the roster in Emma, Nia Jax, Bayley, and Sasha Banks.
The focal point of this match was Nia Jax and her power. She dominated one-on-one scenarios, so the other women had to team up to combat her. They took her out for a while with a powerbomb off the apron but she returned to run wild on everyone. However, Bliss was wise and managed to avoid her before pinning Bayley to retain.
3 Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley - Payback 2017
Most people seem to have negative memories of the rivalry between Alexa Bliss and Bayley. To be fair, their Kendo Stick on a Pole match was a huge letdown and the "This Is Your Life" segment was a wreck. But before all of that, they had their first main roster match together and it was awesome.
This encounter took place in Bayley's hometown of San Jose. That meant the crowd was completely engaged. Alexa talked smack the entire time and goaded Bayley into becoming too aggressive. That mistake cost Bayley as Bliss beat her with a DDT to win her first Raw Women's Championship.
2 Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte vs. Ember Moon vs. Lana vs. Naomi vs. Natalya vs. Sasha Banks - Money In The Bank 2018
This match is easily the best women's Money in the Bank in its short history. The field was filled with talented women who each brought something unique to the table. There were athletic stars, charismatic ladies, fiery underdogs, and every other persona you could think of. With so many moving parts, there were plenty of dangerous moments.
Once again, Alexa Bliss outsmarted everyone around her. She did her best to avoid a lot of those big moments. She took her hits but only sporadically, opting to play it safe. Alexa snuck in at just the right time, knocking Becky off the ladder and winning the match herself. Alexa wasn't Ms. Money in the Bank for long, successfully cashing in the briefcase later that night.
1 Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley vs. Mandy Rose vs. Mickie James vs. Sasha Banks vs. Sonya Deville - Elimination Chamber 2018
Women have had the chance to do a lot of firsts in WWE over the past few years. Competing inside of the Elimination Chamber was one of those accomplishments. These six ladies stepped into the chamber with Alexa Bliss' Raw Women's Title on the line, and they delivered one of the best Chamber matches in history.
Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville teamed up. Mickie James brought her veteran knowhow to the match. When it came down to Alexa Bliss, Bayley, and Sasha Banks, it was poetic. They both desperately wanted revenge on Alexa. The champion scurried all over the environment. She survived long enough for Bayley and Sasha to battle each other. After an incredible half-hour of action, Bliss beat Banks and made history as the first female winner of an Elimination Chamber.
