Even though documentaries are supposed to be as accurate as possible, an in-depth look at someone's real life can only cover so much, especially when the life of the person featured was as eventful as Andre The Giant's.

The WWE Hall Of Famer had an incredible career and really was a one of a kind athlete, and HBO did a fantastic job in covering it from stories about him both in and out of the ring, giving fans a real inside look at who he was as a performer and a person.

The documentary was so good that it attracted viewers who had no interest at all in wrestling but simply wanted to know about Andre and his life, which is why it's a shame that it didn't include everything about him.

However, much like any documentary, there were elements of Andre's story that were left out of it. Potentially due to a lack of time, or possibly because they didn't want to include it, but there is still more to be learnt in regards to the wrestling legend.

10 10. His Food Intake Wasn't Crazy

You might think that a man of Andre The Giant's size needs to be fed giant-sized portions in order to have enough energy to go about his day, but dieting wasn't a big deal back then and he reportedly didn't have a crazily large appetite.

According to Tim White, who was a WWE referee and a good friend of Andre's, the large wrestler would demand to get the same portion as him when they were eating out because waiters would often bring him larger portions due to his size.

Whether it is because he was simply wanting to be polite to his friend or because he didn't want massive portions all of the time is unknown, but he certainly didn't eat as much as people may think.

9 9. Why He Didn't Enlist In The Army

Whilst the documentary did touch on Andre's youth and his journey to becoming a professional wrestler, it didn't discuss how he almost had to enlist for the French army when he was just 18-years-old.

At that time, every 18-year-old male had to enlist for the army in France, but for Andre, his size ended up being an advantage and stopped him from ending up in the army as he was too big to fit into the uniforms.

Instead, he fell through the cracks and was forgotten about, eventually being discovered as a professional wrestler which he started training towards when he was 19.

8 8. His Real Shoe Size

The HBO documentary did touch on Andre The Giant's incredibly large shoe size, with Ric Flair revealing that he wore size 24 shoes, a fact that no doubt left many viewers stunned in comparison to their own.

However, in actuality, Andre actually had even bigger feet than the documentary led you to believe. Even though it claimed he wore size 24 when it came to wrestling boots the WWE Hall Of Famer actually wore size 26!

The Rankin Museum of American Heritage, located in Ellebre, North Carolina has a pair of Andre's wrestling boots that claim they are 26, showing that the documentary may have got that one slightly wrong.

7 7. Making People Watch The Princess Bride

Even though most people associate Andre The Giant with professional wrestling, there is a large number of people who simply know him from his role in the popular movie, The Princess Bride.

Andre's role in the movie has gone down in history and the documentary spoke about his time acting and how he landed the role and how much he enjoyed making it. But it didn't talk about how much he loved the movie itself.

Andre loved the film so much that he would actually grab people from the locker room and force them to watch the film with him several times a night in his hotel room.

6 6. His Struggle Getting A Cab

Andre The Giant toured the world throughout his career, competing in different countries including Japan. Everywhere he went Andre was seen as an attraction, but none more so than in the land of the rising sun.

Because of the huge height difference that took place there, Andre was always pointed out and made to be seen as a major star, but he had one particular issue during his time in Japan, which was transport.

Andre struggled to fit in most cabs and because of that, many of them drove away from him when they saw him waiting, which meant he often had to be sneaky (if that was possible) in order to try to get one.

5 5. Being Driven To School By His Neighbor

One of the most famous Andre The Giant stories that failed to make it into the documentary is one from Andre's childhood, mainly how he was taken to school during his youth, which was a little different to most.

Andre was actually driven to school by legendary playwright, Samuel Beckett, which is a fun story that certainly would have been good to add into the documentary to take things out of just wrestling and the other serious topics.

4 4. Attempting To Drown Wrestlers

Throughout the documentary, and the majority of his life, Andre The Giant was promoted as a gentle giant who was supposed to be an incredibly nice guy that didn't want to cause any issues to people or use his size to his advantage.

However, Ric Flair revealed an incredible story that showed a slightly different side to Andre, where he attempted to drown Blackjack Mulligan and another wrestler (who Flair couldn't remember).

According to the Nature Boy, Blackjack had punched Andre in the face for some reason, and he didn't take kindly to that and grabbed him, dragging him to the shore attempting to drown them until Flair got involved and stopped things escalating.

3 3. Being Taught A Lesson

In a total U-turn from the previous story, not every wrestler was afraid of Andre The Giant despite his size and strength advantage on everyone as he learned when he was confronted by Bad News Allen during a loop of Japan.

Allen was looking to get some sleep whilst Andre was in a more party mood, which resulted in the two men clashing on the bus. Allen reportedly heard some things that he didn't agree with and called out the bigger man.

Despite Andre avoiding confrontation all evening, Allen didn't give up the situation and found him the next morning forcing the Giant to apologize.

2 2. Issues With The Toilet

As has been previously mentioned, one of the major issues that Andre suffered from was his size, with the legendary wrestler often finding himself to simply be too big to do some of life's most simple tasks.

Whilst he often couldn't fit in cars and underneath doors, another major issue was going to the bathroom, with Andre finding himself in some tricky situations when it came to using the toilet.

However, as a way of fixing the issue, Andre often used the bath itself, which might have caused some disgusting health moments. Considering the nature of this story, it might not be a big surprise that it was left out.

1 1. Tipping Over A Car With Four Men Inside

One of Andre The Giant's most infamous stories were left out of the HBO documentary, perhaps because the director was focused on the gentle giant image, rather than looking at some of the insane things he often did.

The story goes that Andre was drinking in a bar and was being hassled consistently by a group of gentlemen, with one eventually deciding to slap him on the back, which led to Andre getting up and following them out of the bar.

The group sought comfort inside their car, which was a major mistake as before they could drive away the wrestling legend flipped the vehicle with all four men inside.
