Another Wrestling Legend Passes Away

The pro wrestling world has lost another legend in Lord James Blears yesterday. Blears was a British wrestler for the AWA from 1947 until 1973. He'd win multiple championships along the way, before eventually becoming an announcer.

While these things are very impressive, his pro wrestling accomplishments aren't what's most impressive about Lord Blears, as he also served as a merchant Marine in World War II. During the way, he survived a torpedo and escaped being kidnapped from the Japanese, which you can read about in full here.

Our condolences go out to his family.
