Asuka And Braun Strowman Exchange Barbs On Twitter

The Mixed Match Challenge officially got underway last Tuesday night as Sasha Banks and Finn Balor picked up a first round victory over the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Natalya. That is one of the standout matches of the first round on paper but make no mistake about it, every team will want to progress as far as they can in order to win that $100,000 to give to the charity of their choice.

Many fans speculated as to who would be paired with who for the tournament and while some of the pairings were easy to see coming, WWE also threw some unlikely stars together. Two of the oddest couples in the MMC are the tag team of Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss, simply because of their incredible size difference, and also the tandem of The Miz and Asuka, or Awe-suka as they're calling themselves.

Although the two teams above will not be meeting in the first round as they are both on the same show, that hasn't stopped certain members from throwing shade at one another on Twitter. On Saturday The Empress of Tomorrow posted a photo of herself back in Japan standing face to face (or rather face to stomach) with a man apparently standing at over six and a half feet tall, giving her reason to not be afraid of The Monster Among Men.

The tweet from Asuka didn't go unnoticed by Strowman either. Less than an hour after the post the former Wyatt Family member replied explaining that while he respects The Empress's fearlessness, none of that matters. It's how The Miz feels about Strowman that matters in this scenario and as Strowman quite rightly pointed out, the former WWE Champion has 'had these hands before and knows what happens'.

It's ironic that even if Asuka was the one who would have to wrestle Strowman she would probably still be less afraid than The Miz. Unfortunately for her having The Awesome One as her tag partner puts her undefeated streak in jeopardy. Either they will win the whole thing or The Miz will be the one taking the fall for Awe-suka.
