In one of the most anticipated WWE main roster debuts in a long time, Asuka lived up to her billing by defeating Emma at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view. The win means that Asuka is still undefeated since joining the WWE/NXT back in 2015.

Emma put up a good fight and showed off her new angry and aggressive attitude, but it wasn’t enough to give The Empress of Tomorrow her first loss in two years as Emma got caught in the Asuka-lock and had no choice but to tap out.

Asuka and Emma actually feuded back when Asuka had made her debut in NXT, and their match at NXT TakeOver: London was a great one. It was yet another victory for Asuka, however, in what would become a long, long line of victories.

Emma probably wanted revenge, and to teach the new girl in the WWE a lesson. Leading up to the event, she predicted a victory, saying that she was going to cause, what everyone would call, “the upset of the century.” But alas it was, again, it was not Emma’s day.

Asuka made her debut in NXT back in September 2015 and racked up win after win after win until she finally got her shot at the NXT championship—which she got on April 1, 2016, at NXT TakeOver: Dallas against Bayley.

She won that match and then went on to hold that title for 523 days until she relinquished the title on August 24, 2017, due to injury. Despite her reign going out on a whimper, her streak was the longest championship streak in the WWE in 25 years!

Still, while her championship streak is over, Asuka’s incredible WWE run of winning a is still going strong.

There is a lot of talk about when and how Asuka’s streak will end. Hopefully, that day is still far off. But instead of worrying about when it will be over, why don’t we do our best to just enjoy it while it lasts?
