Braun Strowman is unlikely to feature at the upcoming TLC PPV due to an injury.

WWE took their time in announcing the event's card but they've since revealed six matches set for the night. A number of additional matches are being discussed backstage and we should know more ahead of the show, which airs this coming Sunday.

According to Dave Meltzer, the Monster Among Men was supposed to fight Shinsuke Nakamura on the last episode of SmackDown but WWE canceled, with Strowman pulled from recent Live Events because of an injury. The plan was to have the towering superstar go at it with Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE stated that the wrestler is suffering from a hip problem but Meltzer says he was actually dealing with back spasms.

"The other one is Nakamura and Braun Strowman. Braun Strowman is hurt. Yeah, they were supposed to do the angle on Friday but Strowman got hurt and they couldn't do the angle," he said on Wrestling Observer Radio. "That was on the card a week ago and Braun got hurt. One person told me back spasms, but the official company line is that he's got a hip injury that's not serious and it's only a couple of days. But he missed all the weekend house shows.

"So you know, SmackDown main event, one night, what did they do? I'm trying to remember. So one night, they did Bray Wyatt against, it was supposed to be Wyatt against Strowman all weekend in cage matches, so the first night they did Bray Wyatt with Drew McIntyre because it was a Supershow."

Meltzer added that things could possibly change if Strowman is fit enough to perform by Friday.

"So it's another night with RAW vs. SmackDown guys and then the second night, which was a pure SmackDown show, they did Champion vs. Champion, with Bray Wyatt beating Nakamura, with Bray Wyatt, in both matches by the way, as a complete babyface," he continued.

"I don't know what Strowman's status is, but I think if he is okay by Friday they may shoot that angle. Again, I'm just waiting for an upate on that."

Gonna Be A Bit Of A Wait

It appears that Strowman and his fans will have to wait to see what happens by Friday. Back spasms could be tricky but it's not an issue that leaves one sidelined long term treated properly.

This does come at a bad time for the 36-year-old, who is clearly deserving of a push lately. Hopefully, he recovers in time.
