With the news that Lana has signed a new multi-year deal in WWE, what's next for Rusev, who many assume has to be the next to sign?
Lana took to Twitter to announce that she has signed a new deal with WWE. Seemingly acting the part of her heel character, she bragged about how rich she is now with the new contract in hand and many people in her social media feed began to ask, 'What about Bobby?' The real question should be, 'What about Rusev?'
Despite the fact that Lana and Lashley are playing roles on television where Rusev has been served divorce papers and restraining orders, Lana and Rusev are very much still married and it is expected that Rusev will follow suit by sticking with WWE.
Reports are that Rusev has not signed a new WWE contract and word is that The Bulgarian Brute is still in the middle of ongoing contract talks with the company. That said, it is expected he will stay with WWE.
A Few Things of Note About Rusev's Contract
While most people should be aware that storylines and real life are two different things, WWE may not want to announce the signings on the same day or within a short period of time to keep with some sort of continuity.
It should also be noted that while people have contended Rusev might not be happy with his position in the company of late, he is quite content. He's part of a big storyline on Raw, he's happy doing things that are asked of him and, has often talked about his willingness to travel and do shows like Crown Jewel and in all likelihood, he knows where his bread it buttered. It would be shocking to see him make a jump for a company like AEW, especially with Lana staying put.
When Rusev does sign, expect Lana to take to social media and be outraged over the fact he's still working with WWE.
