Details On Plans For The Ending Of The Rusev & Lana Storyline

Lana's betrayal of husband Rusev has been one of the more polarizing WWE storylines in recent memory.

Some fans like the fact that there's a storyline with some elements from the Attitude Era here, with Lana having an on-screen affair with Bobby Lashley. But others simply can't wait for the storyline to end, given its many cheesy segments and the fact it's making Rusev look weak - when WWE could do so many better things with him.

On this week's episode of Raw, we saw Lana tell her husband that she's pregnant. This ended up being false, as Lana led Rusev into a trap - where she and Lashley proceeded to attack the Bulgarian Brute. She then told Rusev that she was not actually pregnant.

There aren't any firm indications yet as to when the storyline will end. But for what it's worth, WWE insider Brad Shepard reported that Lana is "uncomfortable with" this whole storyline.

Not only that, but Sheppard reported that the end of the storyline will see this real-life couple get back together.

Rusev and Lana currently face uncertain futures in WWE. It was reported by Dave Meltzer back in June that Rusev is "not happy, and the wrestling journalist wouldn't be surprised if he wound up leaving WWE. Could this current storyline mark one of the last between Rusev and Lana in WWE? Or will they stick around with the company in the long run? Only time will tell.

The Storyline Needs To End Soon

Most WWE storylines these days tend to get stale after a month or so. There isn't much more the company can offer in the Rusev-Lashley-Lana segment here. WWE simply needs to put a stop to in the very near future, because it's extremely uncomfortable for some - and Rusev, Lana and Lashley can be used in much better feuds and storylines down the road.
