Despite a failed return to the WWE in 2014, Hollywood actor Dave Batista is interested in at least one more full-time run with the company. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), was able to provide plenty of more details regarding a possible return for The Animal.

Meltzer said Batista would like a long-term return - six to 12 months - and that he's "very serious" about coming back. But if he signs a contract, then any offers in movies have to go through the WWE first, which could make negotiations a little more tricky. On top of that, Batista's name has been thrown around as part of the 2018 Hall of Fame class, though a return to the ring would hold that off.

Batista has become a major star in Hollywood, breaking through in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. His next big film is Avengers: Infinity War, which scheduled to be released in theatres on May 4.

The Animal put his acting career on hiatus by rejoining the WWE in early 2014. Batista portrayed a babyface character, and won the 2014 Royal Rumble. But the fans didn't accept Batista very well, and constantly booed him - which forced the creative team to turn him heel.

Batista expressed plenty of frustration with the WWE and its writers when he opted to leave once again in 2014. He went as far as to admitting that the idea of returning as babyface never seemed like a good idea.

He last appeared on the June 3, 2014 episode of Monday Night Raw, walking out on Evolution after Triple H refused to grant him a championship match. But Batista did help put younger talents in Daniel Bryan and The Shield over, so his latest run wasn't as much of a failure as some would like to say.

We should find out before long if Batista really is set on coming back to the WWE, and if it's bound to happen in the near future.
