Former WWE Superstar and current Hollywood actor, Batista, had a memorable first run with the company. But he returned in 2014 to win the Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania XXX.
However, that didn't go so well, and it somewhat scarred the images many fans have of The Animal. But Batista has broken some of his silence, and ripped the WWE and creative team in an interview with Daily Dead.
When asked about his return in 2014, The Animal had this to say:
"It really sucked. It didn't have anything to do with me or anything, there was just a lot going on behind the scenes...It was the company, man. They really just screwed me over. I was banging my head against the wall every day."
Batista also added that he worked extremely hard and worked a month longer than scheduled, in order to help put Daniel Bryan over by working on an extra pay-per-view with him.
As for his reunion with Evolution, and the disbanding of The Shield?
"We were just starting the Evolution thing, so why couldn't we run with that instead of me putting Daniel over again, which I just did at WrestleMania? We're not going to have a better match there than we did at Mania. Let's just work more with Evolution and build these guys up. So we did. Then right after we built the hell out of them and they were so strong as a unit, they broke them all up. I said, 'What is wrong with you guys?'"
Though Batista fell out of favor with the WWE Universe quickly, it's hard to fault him for having a messy return in 2014. The company booked him poorly, and he's stated many times how he knew returning as a portrayed face would be a disaster.
