While it's no surprise to see that Batista will be going into the WWE Hall of Fame, who he's requested to induct him might come as a bit of a shock.

You hear the name Batista and you think Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, even D-Von Dudley. You don't necessarily associate the name Fit Finlay. Yet, that's who Batista would like to have induct him into the 2020 WWE Hall of Fame class if he gets his way.

Batista took to Twitter on Monday and revealed that he has requested Finlay be the man to do the honors, saying, "I’m sure that anyone who knows Fit Finlay will not question my request."

Finlay is a producer for WWE and has gotten a lot of credit for his work with the Women's Division in WWE. Working closely with the female talent and really being an advocate for their work, he's been instrumental in the Women's Revolution that has seen stars like Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair become main eventers in WWE. Finlay's work has not been isolated to the women's division and during the time that Batista was a big star in WWE, Finlay was also an active wrestler.

The two had some pretty strong matches on SmackDown so it makes a lot of sense that those two might have become close friends.

Will WWE Grant Batista's Request?

Batista notes that anyone in WWE would be nuts not to grant him the request but it is well known that WWE has the final say on who inducts who. Might they choose to go with someone like Triple H instead? That was the name we immediately associated with his induction announcement.

After all, perhaps Finlay himself should be going into the Hall of Fame. If not for him, wrestling would be entirely different.
