With the improvements in the women’s division that took place in a very short amount of time over the past three years, you can’t blame the top women in WWE for having lofty goals, and without a doubt the loftiest goal we can think of is main eventing a WrestleMania. That hasn’t dinted Bayley’s confidence in the fact that she believes she will do it. The Hugger wants to main event WrestleMania before 2019, and while it seems very unlikely, as the saying goes “never say never”, as just three years ago, it seemed unlikely that a women’s bout would main event Raw, and they’ve achieved much since that point in time.
However, with the lack of development in Bayley’s character and terrible booking in the time she has been on Raw, it seems even more unlikely, but it’s good to see that she and the other women are still looking to create history and move forward with the women’s revolution. Speaking to SI.com, the hugger revealed her goal of main eventing WrestleMania before 2019. In order to do that, she would have to main event the Show of Shows in New Orleans at WrestleMania 34, and long-running rumors about Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns come true, that certainly isn’t happening. Although it sounds like a long shot, WrestleMania 35 could be the ultimate culmination of the Women’s Revolution in the WWE.
So what match do we believe could be the history-making WrestleMania main event? Bayley in the same interview seems to believe that herself vs. Sasha Banks or even a Fatal 4-Way between the Four Horsewomen could do the trick. If booked correctly, either of those matches could certainly be believable in that very big spot. Other matches that could happen at the show feature combinations of those Four Horsewomen, Asuka and potentially Alexa Bliss, but if it’s going to happen, we believe that the only feuds worthy are the two that The Hugger mentions in her interview.
“I plan on headlining WrestleMania by WrestleMania 35," says Bayley. "I want a one-on-one match with Sasha Banks. A Fatal Four-Way with Sasha, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte would also be great some day at a WrestleMania.”
It’s very hard to guess at this point whether Bayley’s biggest dreams will come true, but a lot of work is going to be needed for her character to make it believable. If it were to be any competitor at any time, we think WrestleMania 35 could definitely be the stage for this to happen. So what do you guys think? Is it just a matter of time until this actually happens, should it never happen, or should it happen, but just not in any of the ways that Bayley hopes? Let us know your thoughts.
