Becky Lynch is an unlikely face of WWE, and yet in 2019, it’s totally reasonable to argue that she is the top star in the company. She won the main event of WrestleMania, which included being the only Superstar to pin Ronda Rousey in her WWE tenure. Lynch has also won the second ever women’s Royal Rumble and has reigned as champion for most of 2019.

Lynch largely got over on her attitude, charisma, and killer promo work. She has backed up her big personality in the ring, too, though, with a number of excellent bouts on her WWE resume. This article takes a look back at her best matches.

10 10. Becky Lynch Vs. Natalya, SummerSlam 2019

By SummerSlam 2019, Becky Lynch was well established as one of the most over characters in WWE. It was easy enough to forget, though, that she was also an excellent worker. A Submission Match stipulation offered an ideal platform for The Man two show her grappling skills. She more than held her own with a game Natalya, better known for mat game, in a twelve minute match that opened the PPV.

Lynch forcing the submission from Natalya not only extended her title reign but reinforced her and her Dis-arm-her finisher’s legitimacy.

9 9. Becky Lynch Vs. Bayley, NXT 2015

Becky Lynch and Bayley worked a number one contender’s match on NXT TV in 2015. While it’s far from the most memorable match of either women’s career—particularly given the big things each would go on to on the main roster—it was a fine demonstration of the potential they each had.

Lynch and Bayley delivered with intensity, further enriching the NXT women’s division if only by demonstrating how hard fought a match would be just to earn a title shot.

8 8. Becky Lynch Vs. Ronda Rousey Vs. Charlotte Flair, WrestleMania 35

There may be no more prestigious accomplishment a modern day wrestler can achieve than winning a WrestleMania main event. Becky Lynch did just that in becoming the first person to pin Ronda Rousey in WWE, thus defeating the Baddest Woman on the Planet and Charlotte Flair in the highest profile wrestling match any of them had had.

The Triple Threat was good, but never quite reached the great status fans had hoped for, particularly for its wonky finish with Rousey’s shoulder clearly up during the final pin.

7 7. Becky Lynch Vs. Charlotte Flair, Hell In A Cell 2018

At SummerSlam 2018, Becky Lynch kickstarted her own personal revolution when she turned heel to assault Charlotte Flair, who’d just beaten Lynch and Carmella to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. This was, in many ways, the follow up match, as Lynch got her one on one title match against The Queen.

The bout was a fun one, including the dynamic that, even though—or perhaps because—Lynch was working heel, the fans were behind her. The two worked one of their best one on one bouts, culminating in Lynch taking the title.

6 6. Becky Lynch Vs. Charlotte Flair Vs. Sasha Banks, WrestleMania 32

In 2015, WWE launched what it called a Women’s Revolution, highlighted by the arrival of not only Becky Lynch, but Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks on the main roster. The trio would get its proper respect in working a featured Triple Threat for the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 32 (only that night rechristened from the Divas’ Championship moniker).

The three stole the show with a stellar match in which they each had an opportunity to shine before Flair captured the victory.

5 5. Becky Lynch Vs. Charlotte Flair Vs. Bayley Vs. Sasha Banks, NXT TakeOver Rival

Months before Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks would move up to the main roster, and just a little over a year before they’d wind up working one another at WrestleMania, they were joined by Bayley for a forgotten classic at NXT TakeOver: Rival.

The bout was rock solid and in many ways a coming out party for Banks, who had grown from a face in the crowd to arguably the best talent the NXT women’s division had to offer. Everyone played their parts well, but it was Banks who wound up pinning Flair to take the title, before spurning The Queen’s attempt to show respect after the match in classic heel fashion.

4 4. Becky Lynch Vs. Sasha Banks, Hell In A Cell 2019

Becky Lynch achieved a truly epic moment when she won the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships in the main event of WrestleMania 35. Her reign lost some of its momentum quickly, though, for a lack of credible challengers.

Sasha Banks changed that narrative with a dramatic return and abrupt heel turn. This led to only the second ever women’s Hell in a Cell Match. The result was a hard fought match with no shortage of shifts in momentum and false finishes before Lynch ultimately achieved a submission win.

3 3. Becky Lynch Vs. Asuka, Royal Rumble 2019

Becky Lynch had a ton of momentum going into Royal Rumble 2019, but had a formidable opponent to face in reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka. It was difficult to peg where WWE was headed, because the writing was on the wall that Lynch would face Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania (whether or not the match included Charlotte Flair). Lynch challenging for the SmackDown Women’s Championship complicated that narrative.

Lynch vs. Asuka was outstanding from bell to bell. WWE made the bold booking choice for Asuka to not only go over, but do so in convincing fashion with a brutal bridging Asuka Lock to force the submission. In so doing, the seeds of doubt were firmly planted as to Lynch’s future, though she’d turn the tables quickly enough when she wound up an impromptu entrant in the women’s Royal Rumble later that night and won the whole thing.

2 2. Becky Lynch Vs. Charlotte Flair, Evolution

WWE staged its first all-female PPV just as the issue between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair reached its peak in fall 2018. At that point, Lynch was still the clear cut heel and Flair was the face as they competed over the SmackDown Women’s Championship that The Man won off of The Queen the month before.

Battling under Last Woman Standing rules, the two delivered a hard hitting match, full of drama suspense, and sound ring work. Lynch prevailed in a match that easily stole the show and underscored that these two probably should have main evented over Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella, who had to follow this instant classic.

1 1. Becky Lynch Vs. Sasha Banks, NXT TakeOver:Unstoppable

Before Becky Lynch or Sasha Banks made the main roster and before either worked a proper PPV—let alone a PPV main event—they had a featured bout at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable for the NXT Women’s Championship. Given the talents involved and the TakeOver setting, it’s little surprise that the bout would be good. This one turned out to be a classic, though.

The match made the most of the unusual dynamic of a bigger, stronger, submission-oriented face going after a gutsy, resourceful heel. As the challenger, Lynch brutalized Banks and looked to have this intense match won more than once, only for Banks to keep finding away out of the Dis-Arm-Her and other holds. Banks would ultimately steal the win with a Bank Statement, only for Lynch to sell defeat beautifully in an emotional display.
