The future of the uber-popular Dark Side of the Ring series produced by Vice TV isn't exactly clear. Still, it is a show that will continue on despite its creators working on the new Tales from the Territories series in conjunction with The Rock's Seven Bucks Production company. That's good news for fans, and the even better information is that there is already chatter about a potential future episode topic.

In an appearance on The Sessions with Renee Paquette, Evan Husney and Jason Eisener’s “Dark Side of the Ring” revealed how a "Tales From the Territories" episode gave an idea for something that could work for "Dark Side." Husney said, "We did a territory episode about Portland.". He added that the Portland territory is "one of the, kind of, semi-forgotten territories. Not really forgotten, but it's a more deep cut. It's a weird ass territory." He notes that during their run, wrestling got pretty weird and there were wrestlers who went through that territory and moved on to become bigger stories that have some pretty wild things happen to them.

Doink The Clown Lays Down In WWE Ring

One example of how "eccentric " the territory got was when they looked at the career ascension of Matt Borne, who went on to become Doink The Clown in WWE. Husney said, "...there's incredible stories for him that would be an incredible "Dark Side" episode. So you kind of see that through this, even though the lens is different. You're looking at it, you can see the potential of that."

Getting Inspired For New Dark Side of the Ring Episodes

One of the concerns for that show was that the producers might run out of topics to discuss. They've covered so many interesting stories and the fear was that the show would start to grow tiresome if all the big scandals were already covered. But, if the Tales from the Territories show is inspiring producers with new content ideas, that's only good news for fans of the program.
