Becky Lynch has taken to Twitter to deny a report regarding her WWE contract status and, at the same time, broken a bit of news of her own.

It wasn't long ago Lynch took to Twitter and made a snide comment about her WWE contract and what a Superstar could get when they remind WWE their deal is coming up. Just before the new year, Lynch wrote on Twitter, "It’s amazing what they’ll give you when you remind them your contract is coming up soon. More to say on Raw."

At the time, it was believed an announcement might be forthcoming about an extension.

It was mentioned in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lynch might have signed a new WWE contract and Fightful reported the deal might be worth a $1 million per year over a number of years.  Lynch had even discussed her contract on Raw saying she wouldn't sign a new deal until she got her rematch with Asuka at The Royal Rumble. Once Lynch caught wind of Meltzer's claims, she tried to make a correction.

Lynch tweeted today and said the report is not true as her WWE contract actually expires right away. She wrote, "Report not true. Haven’t signed anything new in years. Deal coming up soon." She linked to the false Twitter report of her new deal.

What's the Real Truth On Lynch's Contract?

Clearly, there's some grey area here. With Lynch openly talking about her contract on WWE programming, one has to assume there's a reason she's denying having signed a new deal if she, in fact, already has. But, it's also possible she's not signed and is waiting for the right deal.

Losing Lynch would be among the most massive of blows WWE could face. That said, the likelihood of it happening are slim to none. They'll offer her a great deal, she's the current champion and she's engaged to Seth Rollins. Why would she walk away from all of that?
