When we're talking about the greatest female stars to ever grace a WWE ring, two names immediately come to mind: Charlotte Flair and Trish Stratus.

Both women have achieved some incredible things throughout the course of their respective tenures with the company, and following their SummerSlam showdown last year, it simply cannot be denied that they really do live up to the hype.

Today, we want to try and piece together a few of the reasons as to why both women have a claim to being the greatest of all time.

A lot of it will come down to personal preference, but either way, it's time to bask in their glory.

10 CHARLOTTE - In-Ring Ability

If you hadn’t already heard, Charlotte Flair is very, very good in the ring.

Everything she does is just so unbelievably crisp, and when you possess talent like that, just about anything is possible when you’re performing at the highest level in WWE.

Flair doesn’t leave anything to chance and makes sure she gives 150% every single time she’s out there, and the reason she wins all the time is that it’s pretty hard to imagine her losing.

9 TRISH - Mic Ability

Charlotte is up there with the best of them on the mic, but Trish really did take things to a whole new level during her time at the top - especially when she was playing the role of a heel.

She just knew how to get the fans invested in just about everything she was doing, and you don’t need us to tell you that’s an important trait to have.

If nothing else, she was able to blend comedy and drama fairly smoothly.

8 CHARLOTTE - NXT Tenure

The early development of any given superstar is vital to their overall success, and that’s certainly true of Charlotte Flair.

Her time in NXT, the first time around, paved the way for what was to come. While Trish went on to become a legend, she never really came across as someone who got into the business because it was her first love.

Charlotte started out pretty green, but she rose to the top in a quick and decisive manner that few could’ve imagined.

7 TRISH - Lita Feud

You need that one rivalry that takes you to the next level in this industry, and for Trish Stratus, that rivalry was with Lita.

From their friendship to their many matches against one another and beyond, they always knew how to pull a big match style out of the bag. They even managed to main event RAW once upon a time which, at that stage, was simply unheard of.

Charlotte has had a few nice feuds over the years, but nothing has come close to Stratus vs Lita.

6 CHARLOTTE - Family Lineage

Sometimes, you just can’t argue with someone’s roots.

Trish was able to evolve into a star on her own, and she deserves a whole lot of credit for that. However, the lineage that came before Charlotte in the form of her father Ric Flair needs to be admired.

Not only is she from a prestigious wrestling family, but she’s also been able to go far beyond what anyone initially expected of her. Bravo, Ms. Flair.

5 TRISH - Defining An Era

Fans out there who witnessed the generation of divas that Trish Stratus was aligned with will be well aware of the fact that it wasn’t a great time for women’s wrestling.

The appearance of the female talent was considered to be much more important than the in-ring product, and yet despite that, Trish still put in the work and ensured everyone had to rise up to her level.

She was a locker room leader in her own right.

4 CHARLOTTE - WrestleMania 35

Headlining the main event of WrestleMania was a spot reserved for male wrestlers prior to 2019, but last year at MetLife Stadium, Charlotte Flair made history alongside Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.

It was a moment that fans will never forget, and while Ronda’s name value and Lynch’s win will be remembered, let’s not forget that without Charlotte Flair, the match itself wouldn’t have been anywhere near the level that it was.

3 TRISH - National Hero

If you ask a large sample of Americans who Charlotte Flair is, they may or may not be able to tell you.

If you did the same with a large sample of Canadians in regards to Trish Stratus, they’d all probably start singing her theme song.

Stratus was just in a different atmosphere when it came to being popular in her home nation, and to this day, she still gets insane pops whenever she returns.

2 CHARLOTTE - Stacked Era

Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bayley, Carmella, Nia Jax, Natalya, Nikki Bella, Asuka, Kairi Sane.

Those are just a few of the stars that Charlotte Flair shares the spotlight with in the women’s division, giving you a pretty good idea of just how stacked women’s wrestling is in WWE right now.

Trish had to deal with a few notable rivals here and there, but it was nothing compared to Charlotte, who is easily the most prominent figure of them all.

1 TRISH - Babyface Stardom

Trish Stratus is a great babyface, and that much is just kind of obvious. She’s also a really good heel, too.

On the flip side, Charlotte Flair doesn’t really come across as a convincing babyface in the same way. She was born to be a heel, and while that may seem a little bit insulting, she’d have to completely change her character in order to be taken seriously as the hero figure. It’s all about range.
