WWE found instant success with The Shield when they debuted by attacking upper card acts like Ryback, Daniel Bryan and John Cena. The trio of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose had outstanding matches that made them must-watch television.

WCW was the first promotion to spotlight the greatness of Paul Heyman as a personality. Heyman cut outstanding heel promos as a manager representing the likes of Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Madusa and Arn Anderson.

The Dangerous Alliance was the name of the heel group referencing his former name of Paul E. Dangerously. WCW found success with the faction of current and future legends all represented by the superb manager.

The Corporation

WWE found a great heel act when Vince McMahon turned heel and used his power as the boss to feud against Steve Austin. The Corporation was the faction created with Vince and his son Shane wanting a group of wrestlers to protect them.

Henchmen like Ken Shamrock, Test and the Big Boss Man all represented the McMahon duo in their feuds with Austin and other wrestlers. The Rock turning heel to win the WWE Championship put The Corporation over the top as a great heel faction.

7 The Wyatt Family

The Wyatt Family

Bray Wyatt came up with the concept of the Wyatt Family when testing out ideas in NXT. The original trio of Bray, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan would get called up as one of the first successful NXT acts on the main roster.

The Wyatt Family had successful feuds with top names like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Kane and The Shield. WWE splitting them up too early ended their time before they could rise further up the list as an all-time great faction.

6 Nation Of Domination

Nation Of Domination

A great faction will typically find a role for many talented wrestlers in the group. The Nation Of Domination truly showed that by improving the careers of almost every wrestler to become part of the heel faction.

Ron Simmons turned his poor WWE start into success when leading the Nation. Everyone knows The Rock saved his career with the heel turn. D’Lo Brown, Mark Henry and The Godfather all thrived as well. The Nation of Domination used real-life issues to add layers to their act in WWE.

5 Evolution

WWE had a tremendous concept for the heel faction of Evolution when Triple H wanted something new. The group started with Ric Flair representing the past and Triple H as the present of wrestling greatness. Randy Orton and Batista joined them as new talents ready to show the future was now.

All four wrestlers had tremendous chemistry leading to huge success. Evolution dominated as a powerful heel faction taking over the Raw brand. The use of a legend, top star and the ability to build new stars made Evolution a nearly perfect act.

4 Bullet Club

Bullet Club

The wrestling industry changed internationally with the success of the Bullet Club as a top heel faction. Finn Balor was the original leader with future stars like Karl Anderson, the Young Bucks and the Guerillas of Destiny all joining him.

Other big names would join in future incarnations like AJ Styles, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole and Cody Rhodes. NJPW would grow internationally with a huge following in North America due to the heel act of the Bullet Club attempting to take over the company.

3 The Hart Foundation

The shift in wrestling ahead of the Attitude Era would see fans starting to cheer heels and boo faces. Bret Hart witnessed this during his iconic feud with Steve Austin. WWE decided to go all-in on accepting the crowd reaction with an infamous double turn.

The heel run of Bret would see him leading the Hart Foundation with his close inner circle of Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Jim Neidhart and Brian Pillman. Despite getting cheers in Canada and the United Kingdom, the Hart Foundation was arguably the most hated WWE heel faction at their peak.

2 Four Horsemen

Ric Flair took his career to another level when using his status as a top heel to lead a new faction. The Four Horsemen would see Flair and Arn Anderson leading the way as the two constants in various versions throughout the years.

Tully Blanchard, Ole Anderson and Barry Windham were some of the other members to benefit. The Horsemen thrived best as a heel faction as Flair looked to continue to dominate WCW with his respected group helping him take over.

1 New World Order

New World Order

WCW changed the landscape of pro wrestling when Hulk Hogan turned heel to form the New World Order with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. The deadly trio planned to deliver a hostile takeover of WCW that made the product reach new heights.

Fans tuned in record numbers to watch what the nWo would do next. WCW found their hottest act as the faction feuded with Sting, Lex Luger, Roddy Piper and just about every relevant face. No stable delivered as much success from the heel side as the nWo in WCW.
