10 Owen Hart vs Steve Austin (Summerslam 1997)

The Summerslam 1997 showdown between Owen Hart and Steve Austin is remembered for the brutal ending, but it was a great match leading up to that. Owen’s piledriver botch resulted in Austin suffering a horrible neck injury and having to win by roll-up.

9 Owen Hart vs Triple H (WrestleMania 14)

Triple H and Owen Hart entered a rivalry shortly after the Montreal Screwjob. Owen was trying to get revenge for his brother going after D-Generation X. The biggest singles match between Triple H and Owen saw them facing off for the European Championship at WrestleMania 14.

7 Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith vs Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin (Raw: May 26, 1997)

The tag team of Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith found amazing success together in WWE. They played great heels as the brothers in law often cheated to get an advantage. Two of the most popular singles wrestlers teamed together to face them.

Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels made a fun short-term team and had a classic match against Smith and Hart during the May 26th episode of Raw. All four guys were on their A-game this night for a must-see match. Austin and Michaels scored the win to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

6 Owen Hart vs 123 Kid (King of the Ring 1994)

Owen Hart was one of the few upper level WWE stars that could shine in any role given to him. Many wrestlers would have complained about only having 3 and a half minutes for a major PPV match. Owen and 123 Kid were in this situation during the semi-finals of the 1994 King of the Ring tournament.

The big payoff to a long feud between Bret and Owen Hart came at Summerslam 1994 in a steel cage match. Bret defended the WWE Championship against his brother with fans hanging on every second of the match.

They went with the story of each man trying to escape the cage with the excitement never ending. Bret and Owen even received a five-star rating from Dave Meltzer for this match. 4 Owen Hart vs Davey Boy Smith (Raw: March 3, 1997)

The tag team of Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith were forced to face off in singles action. Both wrestlers made it to the end of the tournament to crown the first-ever European Champion. The finals would see them going one on one during an episode of Raw in Germany.

The infamous main event from In Your House: Canadian Stampede is the peak moment for the Hart family in wrestling. Countless relatives attended the show to witness the Hart Foundation face off against five of the most beloved faces in WWE. This match included Owen Hart, Brian Pillman, Jim Neidhart, Bret Hart and Davey Boy Smith vs Animal, Goldust, Hawk, Ken Shamrock and Steve Austin.

Despite playing heels to the United States audience, the Hart Foundation received overwhelming cheers at this event in Canada. Owen had one of the best performances of his career and scored the winning pin on Austin. 1 Owen Hart vs Bret Hart (WrestleMania 10)

The best match of Owen Hart’s career was the one that made him a star. Bret Hart faced off against his brother Owen in the opening match before having a main event title shot later in the show vs the winner of a Yokozuna/Lex Luger title match.

Owen however used Bret’s opening match as a way to prove he was ready for the main event scene. Both wrestlers told a remarkable story in the ring that was one of the best matches in WWE history at the time. Owen won the match in shocking fashion to upset his brother. Bret still won the WWE Championship later in the night with his brother jealously watching from afar in a beautiful visual.
