TNA (Impact Wrestling) fell on hard times in recent years, ending its monthly pay-per-view schedule and losing many of its biggest stars to rival companies. However, at one time, TNA was easily the second biggest company in the United States and tried to compete head-to-head with WWE.

TNA has also had a who's-who of wrestling talent, with some of the biggest names in the industry working for them. This includes WWE Hall of Fame superstars and wrestlers who won major WWE titles in 2021, from Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre to Bobby Roode and AJ Styles.

Let's look at Cagematch.net's all-time favorites, going by their rating system.

10 Alex Shelley (8.95)

Alex Shelley TNA

It might seem surprising, but Cagematch.net ranks Alex Shelley as the 10th best wrestler in TNA history. However, looking at his track record, you can see the qualifications are there. As one-half of the Motor City Machine Guns, Shelley and Chris Sabin are two-time TNA tag team champions, and Shelley held the X-Division title once.

The two also held the ROH tag titles, and Shelley also held the IWGP Jr tag titles in New Japan with Sabin once and Kushida twice. What might sound shocking is that Shelley ranks higher than Chris Sabin (7.98), a former TNA world champion.

9 Sting (9.05)

Sting In TNA

Sting is an icon and a legend in professional wrestling. He is a 14-time world champion, including four runs with the TNA World Championship. He was one of the biggest box office attractions in WCW history, and it was his transformation into the Crow-like character that helped WCW win the ratings' wars for 83 weeks, along with his rivals in the nWo.

Sting wasn't as great in the ring when he worked in TNA, but he was still someone who put in serious work to remain in shape and turned out decent matches up until his eventual departure. Sting is still around at the age of 62, working in AEW now.

8 Samoa Joe (9.07)

Samoa Joe Kurt Angle

Samoa Joe is one of the most successful wrestlers in TNA Impact Wrestling history. When he arrived in TNA, he had already proven himself in Ring of Honor with the longest reign as a world champion in ROH history (645 days). He then arrived in TNA and was undefeated for his first 19 months there.

By the time he left, he was a former world champion, TV Champion, two-time tag team champion, and five-time X-Division Champion. Joe also later had success in WWE, winning the NXT title twice and the United States Championship twice.

7 Ric Flair (9.08)

Ric Flair TNA

Nature Boy Ric Flair is widely considered the greatest professional wrestler of all time, and he has more than one match listed as the best in American wrestling history based on Cagematch.net ratings. As for TNA wrestlers, he actually ranks seventh all-time.

WWE calls Flair a 16-time world champion, although he technically has won over 20 world titles in his career. Flair worked in TNA at the end of his career and never won a title for the company.

6 Austin Aries (9.18)

Austin Aries TNA World Champion

Austin Aries came to TNA as one of the best wrestlers in the indies, having done some great work in Ring of Honor. When he arrived in TNA, he became a major star and went on to win the TNA World Championship after he dominated the scene as the X-Division Champion. In TNA alone, Aries was a three-time world champion, six-time X-Division Champion, and held the Impact Grand Championship and the world tag team titles once, with Bobby Roode.

5 Penta El Zero Miedo (9.19)

Penta El Zero M In The Ring

Penta El Zero Miedo worked in TNA Impact Wrestling as Pentagon Jr., along with his brother Rey Fenix. He had already proven how great he was with two reigns as the Lucha Underground Champion, and he and his brother had been big names in Lucha Libre AAA as two-time tag team champions. In TNA, Penta was a former world champion and held the tag titles with his brother. The two are now working in AEW, although neither man has seen championship success yet.

4 Rey Fenix (9.20)

Rey Fenix AEW

Penta's brother Rey Fenix ranks just slightly higher by .01 points in the Cagematch.net rankings. However, Rey does things in the ring that no one else can touch, arguably one of the best high-flying Luchadore wrestlers in the world at this time.

Much like his brother, Rey was also the Lucha Underground World Champion and held the Gift of the Gods Championship twice. In Lucha Libre AAA, he was a former AAA Mega Champion, AAA Fusion Champion, and two-time tag team champion. In TNA, he held the tag titles one time with his brother.

3 Nigel McGuinness (9.20)

Nigel McGuinness match

Nigel McGuinness's run in TNA was short but memorable. McGuinness showed up in TNA after he worked as the top champion in Ring of Honor. In Ring of Honor, he held the Pure title for 350 days and the world title for 545 days, the second-longest single reign following only Samoa Joe. Nigel showed up in TNA as Desmond Wolfe and immediately feuded with Kurt Angle, looking great in the process. However, his career ended a short time later when he retired due to an ongoing illness.

2 Kurt Angle (9.44)

Kurt Angle Impact Wrestling

Kurt Angle is one of the best wrestlers in history, including working as a six-time world champion in WWE. While in WWE, he also held four secondary titles and the tag team championship one time with Chris Benoit. Angle left WWE and went to TNA in 2006, where he was even more successful over a longer run and had some of the best matches of his career. Angle ended up winning six more world titles, the X-Division title, and two tag team titles, including one moment where he held all three titles at the same time.

1 AJ Styles (9.46)

AJ Styles TNA X Division Champion

It should come as no surprise that AJ Styles is rated as the highest-ranked TNA Impact Wrestling superstar of all time. No one in TNA was more decorated as a champion than Styles, who won the world championship five times, the X-Division Championship six times, the tag team titles six times with five different partners, and the Legends/Global/TV Championship twice.

Styles left and won the IWGP title in New Japan twice and then moved on to WWE, where he was a two-time world champion, three-time U.S. Champion, one-time IC Champion, and a one-time tag team champion.
