On a recent conference call to promote his latest fight against Nate Diaz, August 20th, Conor McGregor was asked about the possibility of him one day joining the WWE, which he replied: From MMAFighting.com

"For the most part, those WWE guys are p*****s, to be honest," McGregor said. "They're messed up p*****s, if you ask me. Fair play to Brock [Lesnar], he got in and fought, but at the end of the day he was juiced up to the f*****g eye balls, so how can I respect that? And then what's the other guy? The other guy (CM Punk) hasn't fought yet, so I don't know about him yet."

This latest outburst immediately put him at war with WWE's large contingent of fans online to which McGregor gave a half-hearted apology where he declared he would slap half of the roster's heads off.

From there, the floodgates opened for WWE Superstars past and present to dispute the UFC fighter's claims.

Ric Flair - Who pressed Conor for stealing his gimmick, and named a few wrestler's he wished Conor would try.

Chris Jericho - Who claimed all his bouts were legitimate.

Roman Reigns - Who was among the first to fire off on McGregor.

Big E - Asked McGregor how he would prefer the smacking to go.

Former WWE Superstar Kurt Angle - Who is quite legit himself.

The Women Also got in on the fun.

Becky Lynch - Fellow resident of Ireland

Sasha Banks - Ready for all types of combat as champion apparently.

Rusev - A man Conor wants no part of.

MVP - Brought of McGregor's latest defeat to Nate Diaz.

Kevin Owens - A man who seemingly was put on the planet for moments like these, took the high road while jabbing lightly.

Baron Corbin - Never one for anything out of people smaller than him, begged to differ.

Titus O'Neil - Titus vs Conor anyone?

With many speculating McGregor and WWE using this as a work, Dave Meltzer weighed in from his message board with the following.

"It's not a work. I suppose Vince may try to turn it into a work like he did with Dwayne a few years ago. A lot of wrestlers are legit pissed. Conor is a guy who thinks he's really smart, and he is, who got exposed a few months ago and I don't mean as a fighter, but as a manipulator when he f'd up his own UFC 200 main event. He's doing this for attention to build up his fight, and thinking he can work it into his own wrestling angle. Time will tell if he was right long-term. Short-term, there was a WWE/UFC crossover thing, not that big, but it did exist, that Conor may have blown. Should know more in a few days."

If promotion for a fight is what McGregor wanted, mission accomplished. It should be noted that he stayed well clear of calling out Vince McMahon, Triple H, or The Rock; calling them all "Dons". Who's side are you on? McGregor's or any members of the WWE Roster?
