WWE has confirmed that its Network will undergo major changes this year, but details on what that will involve remain scarce.

The WWE Network celebrated its fifth birthday this year. On the one hand, it's incredible to think that it has been around for five years already. On the other, we already can't imagine our lives without it. Gone are the days of having to fork out $60 for every single PPV. Now we get them all plus so much more for ten bucks a month.

Despite the massive amount already on offer via the Network, WWE appears adamant to give us more. The promotion has been sending fan surveys out for a while, asking what more they would like to see from the service. The options include a tiered pricing system where more perks are offered to fans who want to pay more and even programming from rival promotions.

Those questions have been being asked for so long that many have likely assumed it's never going to happen. However, WWE's co-president George Barrios offered up a promising update during the Q1 earnings call this week, reports Wrestling Inc. Barrios explained that the changes to the Network have been worked on for the past year, and will be in place by the end of 2019.

WWE has partnered up with the Endeavor streaming company for its work on the changes. In fact, the changes will be so significant that at one point during the call the word relaunch was used. If some of the changes asked about during the surveys are instigated then relaunch would probably be the best word for it, especially if other promotions will be jumping on board.

2019 is going to be a year of change for WWE. Not just the Network, but also the shift of SmackDown Live to Fox on Friday nights. With AEW getting set to make a major splash in the wrestling world, these changes couldn't be coming at a better time. Many fans would likely tell you that WWE needs a shakeup, and not of the Superstar variety. By the time WrestleMania 36 arrives, the landscape of WWE is going to look very different.
