Most fans are aware that NXT is not aired live on the WWE Network. The show tapes before an audience at Full Sail University in Florida and will do so weeks in advance of the actual air dates for the show.
Doing this allows the company to save a great deal of money, it permits editing the show into an hour-long time frame and it requires writing storylines well in advance (which is a good thing). The downside is that for those who can't wait to find out what's happening in NXT, the WWE Universe can pull up the spoilers and get an early look at what's coming down the line.
If you're one of those people, read on. If not, stop, because below are the five biggest spoilers from NXT between Aug. 30, 2017, and Sept. 20, 2017.
5. August 30, 2017 Episode: Roderick Strong Defeats Roode To Become No. 1 Contender
New NXT Champion Drew McIntyre didn't waste any time calling people out. He says the past 17 years led to this moment, and he understands the target on his back. He calls out Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly and the whole locker room. Roderick Strong answers and tells the champ that tonight he will beat Bobby Roode, then he will step up and fight McIntyre like a man.
Fully behind Roode, who the audience knows is leaving for the main roster, the fans chant "Thank you, Bobby". It's not enough as Strong picks up Roode, blows him a kiss, then hits End of Heartache again for the pin.
4. August 30, 2017 Episode: Drew McIntyre Is Attacked Again
If it wasn't enough to get laid out by the trio on NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, post match the Roode and Strong match, Drew McIntyre comes out and holds the belt up when Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Bobby Fish attack. After hitting McIntyre with a DDT on the stage, the trio escapes through the crowd and are shown leaving Full Sail as Drew is attended to on the ramp.
3. September 6, 2017 Episode: Ohno vs Itami
Kassius Ohno defeated Hideo Itami in a No DQ match. To end the match, Kassius nails a brutal rolling elbow and knocks Itami out of the ring. Both wrestlers brawl up the ramp where Itami suplexes Ohno and demands respect from the NXT crowd. Finally, an attempted low blow Itami is reverse and Ohno catches the leg, hits a low blow of his own, then nails the elbow for the pin.
It is a brutal match between the two with tons of back and forth action. Ohno comes out on top, but this appears far from over.
2. September 13, 2017 Episode: Dunne Retains UK Title
In the main event, Pete Dunne defeated Wolfgang to retain the WWE United Kingdom Title. Dunne clearly has the NXT crowd on his side, and has the makings to be a star. To end the match, Dunne nails a stiff forearm and hits the Bitter End for the pin.
After the match is decided, Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Bobby Fish hit the ring and surround Dunne. Pete starts to fight back, only long enough to get some help from Wolfgang, who then gets ditched by Dunne and left at the attacker's mercy. Cole nails a shining wizard as Fish and O'Reilly hold Wolfgang. The show ends as Trent Seven and Tyler Bate run down to check on Wolfgang and stare down the Cole trio.

Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish (w/Adam Cole) defeat Trent Seven and Tyler Bate in a high-quality contest. To end the match, Cole superkicks Bate at ringside, allowing Fish and O'Reilly to hit their new finisher, a leg sweep/heel kick combo for the pin.
After the match, NXT Champion Drew McIntyre comes out and chases away the Cole trio. As they try to exit, SAnitY appears behind them and attacks, brawling until Cole & Co. retreat through the crowd.
