With a stacked roster full of superstars all looking to break through to the top of the company, it's quite understandable for the WWE to be having a lot of headaches right now about whom to push and whom to hold back in 2018. We have already seen a lot of amazing matches and intriguing feuds get played out in the year so far, but at the same time have seen the WWE make some very questionable decisions which could affect their programming for the worse.

Knowing how the WWE is inclined to give everyone their opportunities when the time is right, they have already made a few mistakes heading into WrestleMania which have irked the fans a lot. They have held back a few talents from reaching a much higher position on the ladder and getting over with the fans. While it's a well-known fact that WWE is extra careful when it comes to WrestleMania, they could've booked a much better show if they avoided these mistakes.

Similarly, knowing the direction the shows are moving in, it's quite obvious that they will make more mistakes later in the year as well, which could hamper their programming for the worse. So let's have a look at 8 Mistakes WWE have already made in 2018 and 7 They're About To Make Soon.

15 Already Made: Making Braun Strowman A Tag Team Competitor

via wwe.com

WWE's booking of Braun Strowman over the past year has truly established him as The Monster Among Men of WWE, and they have had him destroy many of their top stars. Strowman has annihilated the likes of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns but hasn't really got the payoff to all his destruction and was actually downgraded to an extent when WWE decided to make him win the Tag Team Battle Royal. Strowman is expected to compete for the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania and even possibly win it, which would restrict him to a tag team wrestler. Now we've seen this be done to the likes of Big Show in the past and someone like Strowman definitely deserves better. WWE has made a big mistake in shifting him to tag team wrestling and should've taken advantage of his popularity and pushed him to the main-event scene.

14 About To Make: Moving AJ Styles To Raw

via Sportzwiki.com

AJ Styles is quite rightfully heading into WrestleMania as the WWE Champion after having another successful reign as the top champion on Smackdown Live! which is quite ideally the "House that AJ Styles Built". The Phenomenal One has been a prime reason for the brand's success and why people tune in to watch it, but with rumors speculating him to be drafted to Monday Night Raw can erase all the good he's done over the years. Apparently, WWE wants to draft him to Raw so that he could feud with Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, but they would be making a huge mistake in taking him out of Smackdown! Not only will Smackdown's ratings fall, but the lack of Styles can badly affect its programming as well. WWE should avoid this mistake they're about to make, as it can badly affect their Blue Brand's future in competing with Raw.

13 Already Made: Triple Threat Feud For US Championship

via youtube.com

WWE made many fans happy when they crowned Bobby Roode as the winner of the United States tournament a few months back, with the "Glorious One" defeating Jinder Mahal for the title. While Roode feuded against current US Champ Randy Orton for it, Mahal never went out of the fray and has inserted himself in the match for WrestleMania, which is set to be a triple threat between these three competitors. Now, this is something which is being done simply to stack the mid-card title matches, but the payoff will not be good at all. While Mahal has asserted himself as a commendable heel, it's difficult to determine the nature of Orton and Roode yet, which makes the match an awkward one. WWE should've just made it a one-on-one match which could've been much more interesting rather than making the mistake of stacking the card further.

12 About To Make: Having Ricochet Debut On 205 Live

via f4wonline.com

Ricochet has truly arrived in the WWE, as he's mostly appeared in live events so far and is going to be a part of the six-man ladder match for the NXT North-American championship at NXT Takeover: NOLA. The high-flying wrestler is arguably one of the best wrestlers in the WWE right now, but sadly its predictable that WWE is going to put him on the 205 Live! roster. There have been rumors floating that he might debut after WrestleMania on 205 Live, something which will be harsh on someone as talented as him. While the Cruiserweight Division is picking up lately with Triple H in charge of it, Ricochet needs to be on the main shows showing his talent rather than in a show barely anyone watches. WWE will be making a big mistake in moving Ricochet to 205 Live! and wasting a potential top-star at that.

11 Already Made: Dolph Ziggler's Post Return Treatment

via wwe.com

Dolph Ziggler's WWE future looked bleak when it was looking like he was leaving the company for good after "walking out" on Smackdown Live! a few months ago. But Ziggler eventually signed a lucrative deal with WWE and ended up returning to Smackdown, but it seems like the same cycle has begun for him yet again. After he was given an opportunity to challenge for the WWE Championship by being part of the Six-Pack challenge at Fast Lane, Ziggler hasn't really been seen since. It seems like he will mostly be a part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal match at Mania, which is WWE wasting his potential once again. It's definitely a mistake on WWE's part at how they've treated Ziggler since his return, as they should've booked him in more relevant feuds and given him his singles match at the grandest stage of them all.

10 About To Make: Re-Signing Brock Lesnar

via twiter.com

Brock Lesnar is in the midst of a "shoot" rivalry with Roman Reigns, where the Big Dog has been "talking the truth" about how Lesnar behaves in the WWE and how he doesn't perform like the others. While Lesnar is currently in the midst of heated contract negotiations with WWE, he will mostly sign another contract with the company once his current one expires. WWE will pay him a load of money for appearing limited dates like they always do, but they should not be bowing down to his demands like this. Lesnar is a huge attraction, but WWE's top stars are currently is more than able to fill the void he leaves. Re-signing with him might be a big mistake on WWE's part as Lesnar only needlessly takes up a top spot and the company could have a more deserving talent take his spot once he's left.

9 Already Made: Nixing Sasha Banks Vs Bayley At WrestleMania 34

via bleacherreport.com

Sasha Banks and Bayley's friendship has quickly turned sour and intense as the two have been trying to stab each other in the back in the past few months. It was initially rumored that their tension would reach a boiling point at WrestleMania, where they would've been the first women to compete in a non-title, singles match in WrestleMania. It was all set, but allegedly due to both women having backstage heat, the WWE decided to nix it and we will mostly see these two compete in the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal match. Now WWE are definitely making a mistake in not letting them have their match at Mania' and if anyone deserves to make history, it's these two talented women. Also, knowing how good their chemistry is, we could've gotten a terrific match which would've elevated Women's Wrestling even more but the WWE surprisingly decided against it.

8 About To Make: Ronda Rousey Pushed As The "Next Stone Cold Steve Austin"

via independent.co.uk

Ronda Rousey is set to make her grand debut at WrestleMania 34 when she takes on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon with Kurt Angle as her partner in a mixed tag team match. WWE is doing their best to hype up this match and make sure she makes the right impression in her debut, but their future plans for her are something to avoid entirely. According to rumors, WWE is planning to make Ronda Rousey as the "Female Stone Cold" who will be this rebellious wrestler against The Authority. Now, this is something which can horribly fail knowing how awkward Rousey still is on the mic and her lack of proper gimmick. This mistake could destroy Rousey's popularity this way, as they should let her do her own thing, being this legitimate bada$$ focusing on the women's division.

7 Already Made: The Revival Jobbing To The Stars

via 24wrestling.com

The Revival's main roster journey has been topsy-turvy so far, with the "Top Guys" from NXT finding it difficult to get some momentum on their side. They have been plagued with injuries since their main roster debut and it seems like WWE have given up on them, as they recently returned only to job to the stars. They lost too many mid-card teams as well as losing to Sheamus & Cesaro for the Raw Tag Team Titles and will only make the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale at Wrestlemania. Despite their difficulties, The Revival is still one of the best tag teams on Raw and it's been a mistake on WWE's part to reduce them to glorified jobbers. They should've put them in for the Raw Tag Team title match at Wrestlemania, as they could've easily put on an instant classic knowing their in-ring brilliance.

6 About To Make: Re-Introducing Jeff Hardy As Brother Nero

via tumblr.com

Jeff Hardy has disappeared from WWE TV for the past few months because of an injury but is expected to come-back soon as he's deemed fit to wrestle again. While Hardy got into some trouble again when he was arrested for DUI recently, it seems like that won't have major repercussions for him and he should return to wrestling after WrestleMania. Hardy even made an appearance at the "Ultimate Deletion" for a few seconds, debuting as "Brother Nero" and helping Matt get the win. While one-off appearances are okay, WWE should not be wasting his potential by having him portray Brother Nero and be in Matt's shadow. Woken Matt might be excelling in WWE, but Jeff should be kept separate to him and be allowed compete in singles competition and reach the top of WWE again and it'd be a mistake on WWE to keep Jeff in Matt's shadow.

5 Already Made: Moving Asuka To SmackDown Instead Of Ronda Rousey

via wwe.com

WWE surprised many fans when Asuka showed up at Fastlane and challenged Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 34, with this "dream match" becoming a reality at the Grandest Stage of Them All. But the WWE probably made a mistake in bringing the Empress of Tomorrow to the blue brand, which could've been elevated to another level if they had instead chosen Ronda Rousey. While it's understandable that WWE wanted to keep their top star in Rousey on the "main show", Rousey could've hugely benefitted with a move to SmackDown where she could've been the top female star and also smoothly transitioned into a wrestler. While WWE kept Asuka protected by moving her to another brand away from Rousey, they made a mistake in keeping Rousey on Raw as it would've benefitted WWE's programming and both wrestlers if they moved someone as popular as Rousey to SmackDown and had Asuka keep on dominating Raw.

4 About To Make: Draft Kevin Owens And Sami Zayn To Raw

via wwe.com

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have amazingly established themselves as the two legitimate heels on Smackdown Live! in the past few months, with their rivalry with the management reaching a boiling point recently. They beat up Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon in consecutive weeks and are definitely one of the best things about Smackdown recently, which is why WWE should not draft them to Raw at all. With another "Superstar shake-up" around the corner, it looks like KO and Zayn will be drafted to Raw after WrestleMania, something which might prove to be a costly mistake. The two are doing some amazing work on SmackDown and have elevated its popularity with their terrific heel-work, but they could get lost in the shuffle in the stacked Raw roster. WWE should keep them in Smackdown for a while more and let them continue their excellent work at the center of attention.

3 Already Made: Drew Gulak Not Making It To The Finals Of CW Championship Tournament

via wrestleview.com

When Enzo Amore was fired from the WWE resulting in chaos surrounding the Cruiserweight Division, WWE decided to have a Cruiserweight Championship tournament alike to the Cruiserweight Classic, giving everyone a chance at the title. Triple H was given helm of the failing division, which has put on some great matches in the past few months. While everything is going well, something which didn't feel right was the booking of Drew Gulak in the semi-finals of the tournament. Cedric Alexander had already progressed to the finals of the tournament, so it would've been more fitting for a brutal heel like Gulak to face him to get the ultimate payoff and WrestleMania moment for Cedric. While the match between Alexander and Mustafa Ali is assured to be a classic, WWE made an error of judgment by not allowing the red-hot Gulak to make it to WrestleMania and undermined his momentum.

2 About To Make: Keeping Daniel Bryan As Smackdown General Manager

via wwe.com

WWE shocked many fans when it was recently announced that they had cleared Daniel Bryan to compete for the company once again, prompting the "Yes Man" to come back from retirement which he announced in 2016. Bryan has been a loyal employee for WWE over these years and even though he has done a terrific job as the Smackdown General Manager, it's time that he returns as an in-ring competitor and walks away from his post as the Smackdown GM. Bryan can now compete as a full-time wrestler (who will probably work a limited schedule) and can fulfill some dream matches. But knowing WWE, they will probably make the mistake of keeping him as GM and have him wrestle occasionally like Kurt Angle does. That would be a massive waste of an extremely popular talent like Bryan, who suits more an active wrestler than a part-time GM and sporadic wrestler.

1 Already Made: Roman Reigns Main Events WrestleMania For The Fourth Time In A Row

via tumblr.com

Roman Reigns is in the middle of an intriguing "shoot rivalry" with Brock Lesnar heading into WrestleMania 34, which will be the fourth consecutive time the Big Dog will main-event the grandest stage of them all. While it was quite obvious that this was going to be the main event of Mania 34' from last year, it still feels like WWE has made a big mistake to have this match main-event this grand show once again. With the likes of AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura and even John Cena vs The Undertaker on the card, it's a mistake on WWE's part to have Reigns' match main-event the show when he definitely doesn't need to. Even though the Reigns-Lesnar match will be an entertaining one, it could've definitely taken the backseat for this event and WWE is just forcing even more heat on poor Roman with this awful decision.
