Former New Japan Wrestling heavyweight champion and current MMA fighter Bob Sapp decided to entertain the world as he wore a piece of steak on his neck in order to test his strength against a bear on New Year's Eve.

Without any surprise, Sapp of course lost his battle as he tried to push a bear backwards. As you can see in the video below, he didn't actually touch the bear since there was a piece of plastic between them.

The 44 year-old Sapp has participated in numerous sports. He was first selected in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears out of the University of Washington. He was signed by the Minnesota Vikings after getting cut that year by the Bears.

Sapp was then out of the NFL in 1998 after being suspended for steroid use. He then ended up working at a funeral home.

With football behind him, Sapp decided to move onto pro wrestling and he signed with NWA Wildside in 2001. He then signed a contract with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) before they were bought by the WWF.

In 2002, Sapp made his debut for New Japan Wrestling as he defeated Manabu Nakanishi.

Once Sapp was done with the sport of wrestling, he was recruited by a Japanese MMA company called Pride. Hes also fought as a kick boxer and has a record of 12-18. His MMA record is currently 11-20.

While Sapp was a hit with New Japan Wrestling, he hasn't faired very well with MMA. At this point he's just collecting checks, no matter whether he wins or loses. Sapp was also reportedly particpating in a sumo match on New Years Eve against the retired Yokozuna Asashoryu for Japan’s web TV service AbemaTV.

Sapp also recently made the news in mid-December after his girlfriend accused him of domestic abuse after allegedly being attacked by him, according to bloodyelbow.com.

He supposedly known the woman since 2011 and she's been helping him as a manager. It looks like Sapp will need the money from his earnings to take care of his current domestic violence problem.
