Braun Strowman is one of the most dominant and beloved superstars in the WWE today, receiving a major push in 2017 whilst becoming a main event performer. But as it turns out all of the "BRAUN" screams and body slams were so close to not happening every Monday.
The Monster Among Men appeared on Busted Open Radio (h/t WrestlingInc.com), and revealed that a ruptured disc nearly ended his promising wrestling career:
“The one thing, if I could go back and do it all over, just at the beginning, being a little bit smarter with protecting myself and my brand, you know being a big man and not letting people talk me into dumb things that I shouldn’t be doing. Injuries happen, and one injury in particular was really close to ending my career, I ruptured a disc and it cut into my side nerve and it paralyzed my left leg."
Strowman then had to undergo surgery, but was able to recover and walk again just 90 minutes after he woke up. Really, the man is a monster among men. "I feel like I’ve hit the wrestling lottery," Strowman added.
Indeed, he did. WWE Hall of Famers 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and Edge had to retire after dealing with severe neck injuries. Paige's career is on hiatus, but it's believed a neck injury will prevent her from wrestling again.
At just 34 years of age, Strowman is entering the beginning of his wrestling prime. Recently, WWE turned him into a babyface, and Strowman is among the main event superstars on Monday Night Raw.

It's been quite a turnaround for Strowman. He went from possibly having to leave WWE to being a member of the former Wyatt Family faction. With Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan moving over to the SmackDown Live brand, Strowman has stayed on Raw and has taken down many top talents. The list includes Kane, Big Show and Roman Reigns, among others.
There's no denying that Monday Night Raw would be a lot different without Strowman, along with his roars and body slams. He continues to reign terror among the Raw locker room. And thanks to his ability to recover from a ruptured disk, the legend of Strowman is just beginning.
