Seth Rollins will defend his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman at Sunday's Clash of Champions pay-per-view, but it sounds like a third person will be stealing the spotlight from the two competitors.
According to Mike Johnson of PW Insider (h/t Ringside News), Bray Wyatt "will show up" during the match, which would probably lead to a no contest finish. Johnson added that this will set up a match between Wyatt and another superstar at the Oct. 6 Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
It was previously suggested by Konstantinos Lianos of the Daily Express that The Fiend would be interfering in the Rollins-Strowman match. Like Johnson, Lianos suggested that his interference would result in no winner, thus setting up a match at Hell in a Cell for the Universal title.
So barring any last-minute changes or anything (which Vince McMahon is known for doing aplenty), it seems unlikely that Strowman will walk out as the winner tomorrow night.
Wyatt's Fiend gimmick has quickly gotten over with the WWE Universe, and he's one of the hottest things in wrestling right now. Thus, it'd be no surprise if WWE decided to launch him back into the main event picture.
Rollins and Strowman will be pulling off double duty, as the two are also defending their Raw Tag Team Championships against Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. The latter tag team has been listed as the favorite to win this match, and it's tough to envision Rollins and Strowman retaining the titles - given their current feud for the Universal title.
What's Next For Wyatt
It seems as though WWE has decided that they don't want to waste any time trying to build up Wyatt. He's had a run with the WWE Championship before, but The Fiend gimmick is his best wrestling persona yet. He has all the makings to be a true main event star now, and having him crash the Rollins-Strowman match will go a long way in building him up as a future Universal Champion.
