When Fandango and Tyler Breeze came together to form 'Breezango,' they evolved into one of the best comedy tag teams in recent memory. There is no shortage of examples of the team's hilarity, from the infamous 'Fashion Files' segments to their hysterical match where they were sunburnt. Breezango excels in their comedy so much that their pure wrestling ability can be forgotten about, but when it's time to get serious, the team can grapple with the best of them.

After returning to NXT and reinventing themselves, it seems like Breezango has been given a new lease on life. The two captured tag team gold after defeating Imperium, realizing the potential many fans had seen in them for years. There are things fans still might not know about them, though.

10 Fandango: Won NXT Season 4

Fandango went by the name Johnny Curtis before undergoing a character change

Fandango and Tyler Breeze's careers are both deeply intertwined with the history of NXT. Before it was the indie-style alternative to RAW and Smackdown, NXT was more of a game show with some wrestling on the side. Competitors (known as 'rookies') would be paired up with WWE stars who would act as their mentors, helping them develop their characters and wrestling ability, all while the audience is watching.

Fandango, going by the name 'Johnny Curtis' at the time, competed in the fourth season of NXT. His mentor was R-Truth, so it's easy to see why Fandango has such a great grasp of comedy in wrestling. After defeating Brodus Clay in the main event of the season finale, Curtis was declared the winner of NXT Season 4.

9 Tyler Breeze: Was Nearly Fired On An ESPN Documentary

Tyler Breeze's time in the WWE developmental system is well documented. Having competed in Florida Championship Wrestling from 2010-2012, Breeze was there from the very start when the modern NXT was born.

In the Spring of 2015, NXT was the subject of an episode of ESPN's E:60, the critically acclaimed sports docu-series. After a good chunk of the episode was dedicated to Breeze's story, the superstar found his popularity with fans grow immensely. He has since revealed that he was actually supposed to be fired at the end of the episode, but plans changed. Instead, the superstar's long-awaited call up to the main roster was filmed a few months later for WWE's Breaking Ground documentary.

8 Fandango: Spent 6 Years In The Developmental System

While Breeze spent just over five years in WWE's developmental system, Fandango was there even longer. Traveling the independents for seven years, he would eventually find himself in Deep South Wrestling by the fall of 2006. There he would stay until WWE cut ties with the promotion, sending him to Florida Championship Wrestling with the rest of the DSW roster.

Though he was the winner of NXT Season 4, Johnny Curtis never really found a home on the main roster. He was quickly sent back down to the developmental system, and by the fall of 2012, his Johnny Curtis character was scrapped in favor of his new dancing-persona, Fandango. He made his first appearance on the main roster in March of 2013.

7 Tyler Breeze: Xavier Woods Helped Create His Character

While Johnny Curtis was struggling to find success on the main roster, Mike Dalton found himself at the bottom of the barrel in WWE's developmental system. Dalton was one of many personas Breeze adopted before creating his 'Prince Pretty' gimmick. After being on the chopping block on more than one occasion, Breeze sought out the help of his roommate and fellow wrestler, Xavier Woods.

Together, the friends filmed Breeze portraying a variety of colorful personas. Their favorite was a self-obsessed spoof on Ben Stiller's famous Zoolander character. The two stars thought there was no chance WWE officials would be interested; surely it was too ridiculous of an idea. A few weeks later, Breeze found himself sporting a selfie stick on the way to the ring, and the rest is history.

6 Fandango: His Debut Match Was Against Chris Jericho At WrestleMania

Jericho ponders his next move

While Fandango made his debut in March of 2013, he didn't actually wrestle for quite some time. Refusing to stoop to the level of the rest of the roster, Fandango much preferred to put on a show with his partner Summer Rae and their incredible dancing skills.

One person to take exception to Fandango's attitude was Chris Jericho, who goaded the dancer into a match with him at WrestleMania. Having a performer debut at WrestleMania was a highly unprecedented move on WWE's part, so fans were absolutely shocked when Fandango actually pinned Jericho on the big stage.

5 Tyler Breeze: Started Filming 'The Fashion Files' On His Own

Breezango's Fashion Files

Though it took some time, Breeze and Fandango eventually found each other on the main roster in 2016. Breeze has said many times over in interviews that they were merely an afterthought, formed for the sake of helping the new tag team of Goldust and R-Truth to get over with the fans.

Determined to make something of their pairing, the two continued to build on their chemistry into the next year. After Fandango suffered a sidelining injury, Breeze was relegated to the backstage life. Rather than sit around and wait, Breeze took it upon himself to film skits for WWE.com, where he would pretend to be a policeman searching for his missing partner. This would be the start of Smackdown's infamous 'Fashion Files' segments and Breezango's rise in status as true fan-favorites.

4 Fandango: His Entrance Theme Topped iTunes Charts

Fandangos theme song is one of the most successful WWE tracks of all time

After Fandango defeated Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29, the dancing star was thrust onto the center stage the following night on RAW. Despite the fact that he was a rather unlikeable heel, the RAW-after-WrestleMania crowd showered Fandango with cheers and sang his theme song.

This was the start of a much bigger movement, as crowds across the country began to do the same. Fandango's theme song was perhaps more over than the wrestler himself. The height of the Fandango phenomenon came when the star's theme hit the top-10 in the UK iTunes charts.

3 Tyler Breeze: Runs His Own Wrestling School

Tyler Breeze with a fresh crop of recruits

With over a decade of experience under his belt, Tyler Breeze has plenty to teach the next generation of wrestling talent. By being a member of the NXT roster, Breeze's time on the road dramatically decreased. This allowed him to open his very own wrestling school in northern Florida, known as Flatbacks Wrestling.

Alongside his friend and former WWE roster-mate Shawn Spears, Breeze opened the school in May of 2019. One has to wonder if Breeze would ever consider a trainer's role with NXT once his time inside the ring is over. He would be an invaluable asset to the young stars in the Performance Center and has the track record as a teacher to back it up.

2 Fandango: His Recent Championship Was His First

Breezango celebrates their championship victory

Many considered Breezango's victory over Imperium a long time coming. Despite their extensive time spent in WWE, neither Fandango nor his partner Tyler Breeze had ever been able to capture a major championship. Many thought the team deserved to win the Smackdown tag team titles during their run as The Fashion Police in 2017, but it was not meant to be.

Considering NXT's vast popularity and availability on cable TV, it's difficult to call it the 'developmental' brand anymore. That would make Breezango's recent championship victory the first for each star.

1 Tyler Breeze: Won The UpUpDownDown Championship

Though he only just captured his first championship in WWE, Tyler Breeze was dominating a whole other arena with his friend Xavier Woods. Breeze is a regular on Woods' YouTube channel UpUpDownDown, where WWE stars compete in various video games while hanging out backstage. Woods' 'Battle of the Brands' show, in particular, was some of the most popular content on UpUpDownDown

Woods recently introduced a championship title for the channel, and Breeze quickly captured it for himself. He has defended it against various Superstars for quite some time now, much to the chagrin of Xavier Woods.
