10 He Wrestled For Himself

During the interview, Bret Hart gave some amazing insight into how he viewed things as a wrestler, inside the ring. He admitted that he would put together matches and picture himself in the front row and do things he would pop for as a child.

It's crazy to think about the insane levels of detail that the Hitman was going through and the way he could break things down. It's incredibly clever and something very few others would be able to do.

However, that mentality helped make Hart stand out and is why he is considered one of the best of all time.

9 Not Dropping The Title To HBK

Of course, the Montreal Screwjob was a big talking point of this interview, as it always is when Bret Hart is around. Hart revealed the big reason that issues started between himself and Shawn Michaels, with it all coming down to respect.

Hart told a story of how he shook HBK's hand and said he was happy to drop the title to him, but Michaels responded by saying he wouldn't do the same. Because of that disrespect, Bret refused to drop the title to HBK.

This is why the screwjob finish had to be created because Hart wasn't willing to do it. He did state that he would have dropped it the next night on Raw though, as long as Michaels proved he respected him on that infamous night.

8 Earl Hebner's Broken Promise

Earl Hebner was the referee involved that night when the Montreal Screwjob happened. He was the man who rung the bell to bring an end to the match and he obviously had some involvement in the situation.

However, Bret Hart revealed that the night before he had warned Hebner that WWE would try and do something to make him screw Hart. The referee had sworn on his children's lives that he would never do that to Hart.

Obviously, pressure from WWE made Hebner change that opinion. However, Hart admits he always gave Hebner a pass because he was in a tough spot.

7 Hand Breaking Knock Out

While Bret Hart might have always been very safe inside the ring, one incident backstage led to him breaking his own hand. The Montreal Screwjob was a big topic of conversation, and that includes the moment Bret punched Vince McMahon backstage.

The Hitman admitted he unleashed an incredible uppercut to Vince which actually knocked out the WWE Chairman. The punch also broke part of Hart's hand because he hit McMahon so hard.

It was a moment where Hart unleashed all his rage about the situation, and it proved just how angry he was at the time.

6 His Current Relationship With Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon and Bret Hart obviously had a huge falling out due to the Montreal Screwjob, and it took many years before they patched things up. However, an incident as big as that isn't easily forgotten about.

Steve Austin asked the Hitman what his current relationship with McMahon is like, and he admitted that it is good. While Hart admitted he doesn't know how the WWE Chairman sees things, he has forgiven him, although he won't get over what happened.

5 Breaking Down WrestleMania 13

This wasn't so much one major revelation, but it was just an incredibly insightful and entertaining breakdown of their classic match. Steve Austin showed highlights of their WrestleMania 13 bout, and it led to some great analysis.

The pair of them just broke down everything that happened throughout the match and it was incredible to watch. They talked about specific details that fans won't have known about and it proved to be a great listen.

Considering this is one of the most famous matches in wrestling history, to hear the two men involved break it down is amazing.

4 Hates Submission Matches

Even though that WrestleMania 13 match is considered a true classic, Bret Hart admitted that he hates submission matches. He may have had a submission finisher, but he hated that stipulation.

The main reason for those feelings is because of how hard it is to tell a story in the match and get the fans involved. The lack of false finishes makes things difficult for the wrestlers and that isn't something Bret enjoys.

3 What He's Most Proud Of

Be it titles or main event matches, Bret Hart has achieved a lot in his career, which is why he is known as one of the greatest of all time. So when Steve Austin asked what he is most proud of, the Hitman had plenty to choose from.

However, Hart revealed that his proudest achievement is the fact that he never hurt anybody the entire time he wrestled. That wasn't just big injuries either, but the fact wrestlers were never sore after facing him.

It shows just how great he was as a wrestler, not just for entertaining the fans, but also in protecting the people he worked with.

2 Owen Would Want To Be In The HOF

At this time of year, the Hall Of Fame discussion always rolls around. People are constantly talking about which legends deserve an induction and who everyone wants to see, and one name that is consistently brought up is Owen Hart.

Everyone in WWE wants to see Owen take his rightful place in the Hall Of Fame, and that includes his family. Of course, the reason he hasn't been inducted is that Owen's widow doesn't want anything to do with WWE.

Steve Austin asked Hart for his opinion on the situation, and the Hitman made it clear his brother would have wanted his career to be honored.

1 Goldberg Was Unprofessional

Bret Hart's in-ring career was at least partially ended by Goldberg when they competed in WCW. A botched move by Goldberg brought everything to an abrupt end for the Hitman, and during the interview, he didn't hold back when giving his thoughts.

As previously mentioned, Hart holds the fact he was safe in the ring very highly, so this was a huge deal to him. The Hitman claimed Goldberg was one of the most unprofessional wrestlers in the history of the business.

He likened wrestling Goldberg to competing with a Gorilla, as he was the most dangerous person to work with. Bret Hart also questioned how Goldberg is in the Hall Of Fame, making his thoughts very clear.
