Brock Lesnar defeated Cain Velasquez in short order at Crown Jewel and after the match, all hell broke loose.

Brock Lesnar won the WWE Title in incredibly short order earlier this month. After the match, a ghost from the champion's past came back to haunt him. Cain Velasquez, the man who beat down and brutalized The Beast in UFC. And apparently, all Velasquez needed to do to earn a WWE Title shot was show up, just one time.

That match was set for Crown Jewel, which is likely still going on as you read this. However, the show kicked off with the aforementioned WWE Championship match. It didn't take a genius to predict that this match wouldn't go long. Lesnar doesn't tend to wrestle long matches as it is, especially against someone who has only wrestled a handful of matches in their entire career.

The bout between the two started off like they were back inside the octagon. Cagey with both men trying to avoid being legitimately struck by the other. The announcing hinted that Lesnar would need to take Velasquez to the mat to beat him, hammering home that the newbie is a striker and not a submission specialist.

And that's exactly what Lesnar did to ensure he leaves Saudi Arabia as WWE Champion. The Beast tackled Velasquez to the ground and put him in the kimura lock, forcing the match to come to an end via submission. Lesnar refused to relinquish the hold after the bell rang, so Rey Mysterio took matters into his own hands. The luchador grabbed a steel chair and went to work on Lesnar to save his friend.

The pair clashed after the match as Velasquez recovered from his quick defeat. The champ eventually grabbed his title and his advocate and backed off up the ramp, promising that he would make Mysterio pay as he left. Chances are he won't actually do that, at least not for a while. Velasquez and Mysterio are on Raw, and Lesnar is on SmackDown, and the former has already hinted the pair will be going for tag team gold next.
