A couple weeks ago, when Samoa Joe won the Fatal 5-Way match at Extreme Rules and became the number one contender for Brock Lesnar's Universal Title, the general assumption was that this Lesnar v. Joe feud would be a one-and-done affair ending with a Lesnar victory at Great Balls Of Fire.

According to Cageside Seats, though, Lesnar v. Joe might not be as one-and-done as everyone thinks. To put it another way, the current plan is to have Lesnar move on from Joe after Great Balls Of Fire, but the WWE is definitely open to changing that plan if this feud brings in the ratings.

The site is saying that if the ratings go up for this feud on Monday Night RAW, then the suits at the WWE will be willing to extend the angle.

Now, last night on RAW we got a good Brock/Samoa Joe brawl that lead to all of the backstage superstars having to come to the ring and separate them. But that show was going up against game 5 of the NBA Playoffs, and the game was close until the later stages of the 4th quarter so one would assume RAW ratings took at least a bit of a hit.

As for the next meeting between these two men? Well, Lesnar isn't scheduled to be on RAW next week so it will probably be a few weeks before another confrontation and another chance for the WWE higher-ups to see what they bring to the ratings and whether or not they should extend the feud beyond what they had originally planned.
